원통형 열모세관 액적 내 유동 불안정성과 회전의 영향 (Hydrodynamic Instabilities in Cylindrical Thermocapillary Liquid Bridges with Rotation)

  • The thermocapillary flow in a differentially heated cylindrical liquid bridge under steady rotation of the hot disk is considered in the limit of zero capillary number. Steady flow states and their three-dimensional stability are calculated numerically. A linear stability analysis reveals that the most dangerous perturbations are oscillatory with azimuthal wavenumber m=1 or m=2 depending on the parameters.

  • Identification of the plants is not easy task especially in the fields of process control. From this point of view, Kitamori developed a method of control system design based on partial knowledge about controlled processes. However, it is difficult to control the oscillatory plant by kitamori's method. In this paper, we develope a method of partial model matching control system design, which have desirable pole-placements in order to improve the above defects. Design examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.

  • The oscillatory boundary layer that develops when surface waves propagate over the sea bottom affects many flow-pendent phenomena in the coastal zone. Examples of such phenomena are wave energy dissipation due to bottom friction and the initiation and transport of sediment (Grant and Madsen 1986). In nature the boundary layer under waves will almost always be turbulent (Nielsen 1992). (omitted)

  • Two-phase transient phenomena in the noncondensable gas-filled closed loop was investigated numerically using the RELAP5/MOD3 version 3.1 computer code. The condensation heat transfer correlation for noncondensable gases was studied in detail. Two modes of the reflux condensation which can be characterized by countercurrent flow of steam and its condensed water and the oscillatory between reflux condensation and natural circulation were predicted well. However, the natural circulation mode which the condensed water carried over the U-bend concurrently with steam was failed to predict.

  • This paper presents a new sufficient condition for the oscillation of all solutions of difference equations with several deviating arguments and oscillating coefficients. Corresponding difference equations of both retarded and advanced type are studied. Examples illustrating the results are also given.

  • By means of a Riccati transform some oscillation or nonoscillation criteria are established for nonlinear differential equations of second order $$(E_1)\;[p(t)|x#(t)|^{\alpha}sgn\;x#(t)]#+q(t)|x(\tau(t)|^{\alpha}sgn\;x(\tau(t))=0$$. $$(E_2),\;(E_3)\;and\;(E_4)\;where\;0<{\alpha}$$ and $${\tau}(t){\leq}t,\;{\tau}#(t)>0,\;{\tau}(t){\rightarrow}{\infty}\;as\;t{\rightarrow}{\infty}$$. In this paper we improve some previous results.

  • In this paper, we study delayed high-order Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with reaction-diffusion terms and Neumann boundary conditions. By using inequality techniques and constructing Lyapunov functional method, some sufficient conditions are given to ensure the existence and convergence of the periodic oscillatory solution. Finally, an example is given to verify the theoretical analysis.

  • Further evaluation and modification were done on the new concepts plow (frontal plow), a plow which inverts the soil furrow without lateral displacement . First, kinematics of soil cutting section was analyzed and an experiment was conducted to report draft and power requirement. Second, function of main moldboards was examined and modification was made. As a result of the modification , force applied to the moldboard was reduced, but the furrow inversion became less stable.

  • We give sufficient conditions that the homogeneous differential equations : for $t{\geq}t_0$(> 0), $$x^{{\prime}{\prime}}(t)+q(t)x^{\prime}(t)+p(t)x(t)=0,\\x^{{\prime}{\prime}}(t)+q(t)x^{\prime}(t)+F(t,x({\phi}(t)))=0$$, are oscillatory where $0{\leq}{\phi}(t)$, 0 < ${\phi}^{\prime}(t)$, $\lim_{t\to{\infty}}{\phi}(t)={\infty}$. and $F(t,u){\cdot}sgn$ $u{\leq}p(t)|u|$. We obtain comparison theorems.
