This study was conducted to find out the effects of hydroseeding material and seed mixture on the revegetation of rock cut-slopes by PEC4 (Polymer-Ecology-Control) Hydroseeding Measures. PEC4 hydroseeding material was applied to four cut-slopes using hydroseeding measures from April to August, 1999, and the field survey was carried out by monthly. PEC4 material consisted of bark compost and organic soil amendments. This material has high content of organic matter and high level of water holding capacity. PEC4 hydroseeding material shows low level of soil hardness, so it gives to good condition for seed germinating and plant growing in early stage. PEC4 material attached at rock cut-slopes by two types of adhesive agent was not eroded by rainfall. The plant coverage and number of plant species were affected by mixing ratio of seeds and seeding timing. From the viewpoint of plant establishment, the optimal hydroseeding timing of mixed seeds for plant growth seems to be in May. Most of the plant seeds were germinated well and they covered rock cut-slopes so quickly and effectively. Plant importance value of Silene armeria and Platycodon grandiflorum. were higher than any other seeded-native species in the competition between native species and exotic species, so they have enough possibility to be used for slope revegetation works. Thus it leads to conclusion that the revegetation method used in this experiment was a very effective method for plant establishment on rock cut-slopes.

This experiment was carried out to determine the effect of organic fertilizer and seed mixture on productivity, botanical composition and forage quality in middle areas(Geumsan, 250m sea level) pasture. Total six experimental pastures (orchardgrass, timothy and tall fescue based seed mixture and with or without organic fertilizer) were established in autumn, 2014 and evaluated productivity and agronomic characteristics from 2015 to 2016. Plant heigh was higher in orchardgrass based mixture and orchardgrass and tall fescue based mixture were higher in $2^{nd}$ harvest. There was not found the significant difference among treatment(P<0.05) in dry matter (DM) content. Botanical composition in $1^{st}$ harvest was higher weed portion in orchardgrass based mixture and legumes was disappeared at $3^{rd}$ harvest in all treatments. Fresh and dry matter yield was higher in $2^{nd}$ year than $1^{st}$ year. In $1^{st}$ year, orchardgrass based mixture with organic fertilizer plot was the highest(P<0.05) DM yield, but tall fescue based mixture with organic fertilizer was the highest in $2^{nd}$ year. Content of crude protein (CP) was the highest in tall fescue based mixture and Timothy based mixture showed low in ADF (acid detergent fiber) and NDF (neutral detergent fiber) content. But the content if in virto dry matter digestibility was higher than others. In $2^{nd}$ year, the nutritive value of $2^{nd}$ and $4^{th}$ harvested grasses were higher and average RFV (relative feed value) value was the highest at $4^{th}$ harvest. According to this result, orchardgrass and tall fescue based mixture would be recommendable for farm who considering productivity and timothy based mixture would be recommendable for considering forage quality in middle areas of Korea.

Osmotic granule system which is one of the drug delivery systems has been developed to improve manufacturing process and other problems of tablet osmotic systems. It consists of water swellable seed layer, nifedipine drug layer, and drug release controlled membrane layer and manufactured by fluidized bed coater. The granule size and mombrane thickness can be controlled by various amounts of seed and coating solution, respectively. It could be observed that the morphology of osmotic granule was different at each coating step as well as type of coating solution. The bigger the size of granule, the slower the release rate was observed due to decreasing the total specific surface wed of granule. Also, it was observed that the increase of membrane thickness was caused to retard the dissolution of nifedipine due to decreasing the water absorption rate. The drug solubility for dissolution media is greatly affected to nifedipine release. From these results, we assured that osmotic granule can be fabricated by fluidized bed coating methods, and the appropriate release profile could be controlled by the controlling of bead size, membrane thickness and dissolution media.

This study was conducted to develop an organic control method of two spotted spider mite(Tetranychus urticae) by using cooking oil and yolk mixture(COY) through evaluating its acaricidal activity in laboratory and green house. In laboratory, there is no significant difference in acaricidal activity against T. urticae within the COY including soybean, canola(rape seed), sunflower and olive oil. The acaricidal activity against T. urticae. increased from 17.6% to 94.1% as the COY became concentrated between 0.1% to 1%. The COY acricidal activity was effected by the quantity of treatment according to application methods. The COY dealt with T. urticae eggs presented 95% of the ovicidal activity. In rose greenhouse damaged by T. urticae, the COY(0.3%) was sprayed three times and resulted in the high control value of mites between 69.0% to 89.6%.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of levels of cottonseed meal with various carbohydrate sources in concentrate on feed intake, nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation and microbial protein synthesis in dairy bulls. Four, 6 months old dairy bulls were randomly assigned to receive four dietary treatments according to a $2{\times}2$ factorial arrangement in a $4{\times}4$ Latin square design. Factor A was carbohydrate source; cassava chip (CC) and cassava chip+rice bran in the ratio of 3:1 (CR3:1), and factor B was cotton seed meal levels in the concentrate; 109 g CP/kg (LCM) and 328 g CP/kg (HCM) at similar overall CP levels (490 g CP/kg). Bulls received urea-lime treated rice straw ad libitum and were supplemented with 10 g of concentrate/kg BW. It was found that carbohydrate source and level of cotton seed meal did not have significant effects on ruminal pH, ammonia nitrogen concentration, microbial protein synthesis or feed intake. Animals which received CC showed significantly higher BUN concentration, ruminal propionic acid and butyric acid proportions, while dry matter, organic matter digestibility, populations of total viable bacteria and proteolytic bacteria were lower than those in the CR3:1 treatment. The concentration of total volatile fatty acids was higher in HCM than LCM treatments, while the concentration of butyric acid was higher in LCM than HCM treatments. The population of proteolytic bacteria with the LCM treatments was higher than the HCM treatments; however other bacteria groups were similar among the different levels of cotton seed meal. Bulls which received LCM had higher protein digestibility than those receiving HCM. Therefore, using high levels of cassava chip and cotton seed meal might positively impact on energy and nitrogen balance for the microbial population in the rumen of the young dairy bull.

Wild grape is a traditional medicine plant in north-eastern part of Asia and has been known to have healing properties for various illnesses. This study was to determine the optimum extraction condition and antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of wild grape (V. coignetiae) seed. Also, organic solvent fractions of hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and butanol were obtained from the ethanol extract of wild grape seed at different temperatures. Total ethanol extraction yield of wild grape seed ranged from $4\%\;to\;12\%$ depending on the ethanol concentration, extraction temperature and time condition. The highest extraction yield of $11.9\%$ was obtained at $90\%$ ethanol condition for 12 hour at $70^{\circ}C$. However, the strongest free radical scavenging effect $(RC_{50})$ with $20.93\mu g/mL$ was observed in $70\%$ ethanol extract of wild grape seed extracted for 6 hour at $70^{\circ}C,\;while\;RC_{50}\;with\;40.42$\mu g/mL$ was observed in $90\%$ ethanol extract for 12 hour at $70^{\circ}C$. Antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of wild grape seed increased as total phenol contents increased. Among each fraction obtained from organic solvents, ethyl acetate fraction was found to have the strongest $RC_{50}\;(8.6\mu g/mL)$ and 636.77 mg GAE/g phenol contents .

This study was conducted to investigate the quality properties depending on the cultivation methods (general, organic, pesticide-free) of yuza and its various parts (peel, pulp, seed). The contents of hesperidin were the highest in yuza feel grown by pesticide-free method (13.23 mg/g). The contents of naringin presented a higher content in the peel, especially which of the general (4.62 mg/g) showed the highest value. Vitamin C analysis showed the highest content in the peel, significantly varied according to the cultivation method and various parts (p<0.05). Vitamin C value was significantly highest in organic peel, which was 770.02 mg/100 g, whereas among the peel, the pulp and the seed were it the lowest in the seed. The content of total polyphenols were the highest in general peel (0.85 mg/g). Flavonoid content of pesticide-free seed was significantly higher than those of the other yuja samples which was 0.89 mg/g (p<0.05). The DPPH radical scavenging activity was relatively more active in the peel among the above-mentioned three parts, especially the pesticide-free peel was most active, which was 73.94%. The ABTS radical scavenging activity of organic peel was significantly active among the samples, which was 84.47% (p<0.05). Based on these results, it can be said that yuja has variety of useful components in the pulp and the seed as well as the peel: and thus it's hight recommended to develop more varied yuja products.
The objective of present experiment was to examine the impact of different organic nitrogen (N) fertilizer application rates and different harvesting periods on the forage yield and feed value of kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.). This study was carried out from May to September 2019, the amount of 80 kg of kenaf seed/ha were applied with different rates of nitrogen fertilizer. The plants were sampled at 10 days intervals (100, 110, 120, and 130 days after seeding) from different harvesting dates. In the organic fertilizer treatments, the highest dry matter (DM) yield was observed in the application rate at 250 kg of N/ha. Crude protein (CP) content in leaves was similar between the organic fertilizer rates at 200 and 250 kg of N/ha and were higher compared with other fertilizer treatments. The highest CP content in the stem was 4.3% in the organic fertilizer application rates st 250 kg of N/ha. Neutral detergent fiber (NDF) in leaves showed no significant difference between the chemical fertilizer rates at 200 and 250 kg of N/ha, and the organic fertilizer rates at 150 and 250 kg of N/ha. In addition, DM yield of kenaf was highest in the harvest of 100 days after seeding, and tended to decreased significantly with increase of harvesting periods (p<0.05). As the growth progressed, the plant height and stem ratio increased but the leaves ratio decreased significantly (p<0.05) and the highest was found at 110 days after seeding. The highest CP, Acid detergent fiber (ADF), NDF and total digestible nutrient (TDN) contents in leaves were 13.9, 25.4, 40.5 and 71.1%, respectively that were affected by different harvesting periods. Also, the ADF and NDF in stem increased significantly with increase of kenaf maturity (p<0.05). In conclusion, the optimal organic fertilizer application rates and the proper harvesting periods for the forage yield and quality of kenaf were at 200 to 250 kg of N/ha, and 100 to 110 days after seeding, respectively.
A sub-ppm level MEMS gas sensor that can be used for the detection of formaldehyde (HCHO) is presented. It is realized by using a zinc oxide (ZnO) thin-film material with a Ni-seed layer as a sensing material and by bulk micromachining technology. To enhance sensitivity of the MEMS gas sensor with Ni-seed layer was embedded with ZnO sensing material and sensing electrodes. As experimental results, the changed sensor resistance ratio for HCHO gas was 9.65 % for 10 ppb, 18.06 % for 100 ppb, and 35.7 % for 1 ppm, respectively. In addition, the minimum detection level of the fabricated MEMS gas sensor was 10 ppb for the HCHO gas. And the measured output voltage was about 0.94 V for 10 ppb HCHO gas concentration. The noise level of the fabricated MEMS gas sensor was about 50 mV. The response and recovery times were 3 and 5 min, respectively. The consumption power of the Pt micro-heater under sensor testing was 184 mW and its operating temperature was $400^{\circ}C$.

The aim of this study was to develop a new natural preservative system to improve the weak points of natural polyhydric alcohols together with the efficiency of natural plants as a preservative. Polyhydric alcohols (glyceryl caprylate and ethylhexylglycerin) and antimicrobial plants (S. radix, A. nilotica and C. reticulata) were tested using the disc diffusion method and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method for their antimicrobial activity against the common poultry pathogens, respectively. A study of the preservative efficacy of the cosmetic formulations containing the optimized preservative system demonstrated sufficient preservative efficacy against bacteria and eukaryotic test microbes. These results suggest that the natural preservative system including polyhydric alcohol extracts containing natural plants could be incorporated in cosmetic formulations.
