  • This paper deals with steady-state analysis of a single-phase line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor. In order to analyze the steady-state characteristics, the asymmetric single-phase line-start synchronous motor is converted to the symmetric two-phase synchronous motor, that is, the asymmetric magnetic field is separated from the positive and the negative symmetric components using symmetrical-component theory. The analysis method of the synchronous motor on the d-q axis coordinates is used for the positive component and the equivalent circuit of the induction motor is applied for the negative component analysis. Moreover, d-q axis inductance considering current phase angle is applied to positive component analysis for precise characteristic analysis. In order to validate the proposed analysis method, the analysis results are compared with the experimental results.

  • Component Cost Analysis considers any given system driven by a white noise process as an interconnection of different components, and assigns a metric called "component cost" to each component. These component costs measure the contribution of each component to a predefined quadratic cost function. One possible use of component costs is for model reduction by deleting those components that have the smallest component cost. The theory of Component Cost Analysis is extended to include finite-bandwidth colored noises. The results also apply when actuators have dynamics of their own. When the dynamics of this input are added to the plant, which is to be reduced by CCA, the algorithm for model reduction process will be called Weighted Component Cost Analysis (WCCA). Closed-form analytical expressions of component costs for continuous time case, are also derived for a mechanical system described by its modal data. This is very useful to compute the modal costs of very high order systems beyond Lyapunov solvable dimension. A numerical example for NASA's MINIMAST system is presented.presented.

  • As CBD technologies and researches have been matured, component framework as a larger reuse unit than component is being introduced. Especially issues related with adaptation and integration of components in CBD are being raised as a new research topic. The component framework is given as a solution to resolve these issues. However, current approaches don't suggest a sound and comprehensive reference model and development process applying reference model. In order to develop practical and stable component framework, reference model and concrete guidelines are essential elements. In this paper, we propose a generic reference model integrating existing reference models and a design technique of component framework based on it. Especially, we propose concrete and pragmatic guidelines such as how to design component framework architecture's view and style, how to design commonality and variability of component framework, how to design macro workflows among components, and so on. We believe that the proposed reference model becomes basis for component framework development, and the proposed design technique will support reliable and effective development of the component framework.

  • In this paper, the expressions of the estimated information of a single-phase enhanced phase-locked loop (EPLL), when input signal contains harmonics and a DC offset while the fundamental component takes step changes, are derived. The theoretical analysis results indicate that in the estimated information, the nth-order harmonics cause n+1th-order periodic ripples, and the DC offset causes a periodic ripple at the fundamental frequency. Step changes of the amplitude, phase angle and frequency of the fundamental component cause a transient periodic ripple at twice the frequency. These periodic ripples deteriorate the performance of the EPLL. A hybrid filter based EPLL (HF-EPLL) is proposed to eliminate these periodic ripples. A delay signal cancellation filter is set at the input of the EPLL to cancel the DC offset and even-order harmonics. A sliding Goertzel transform-based filter is introduced into the amplitude estimation loop and frequency estimation loop to eliminate the periodic ripples caused by the residual input odd-order harmonics and step change of the input fundamental component. The parameter design rules of the two filters are discussed in detail. Experimental waveforms of both the conventional EPLL and the proposed HF-EPLL are given and compared with each other to verify the theoretical analysis and advantages of the proposed HF-EPLL.

  • This brief review contains surveys of both four-component and two-component relativistic molecular theories. First the four-component relativistic approach is reviewed. Emphasis is placed on efficient computational schemes for the four-component Dirac-Hartree-Fock and Dirac-Kohn-Sham methods. Next, in the twocomponent relativistic framework, two relativistic Hamiltonians, RESC and higher-order Douglas-Kroll (DK), are introduced. An illustrative application is shown for the relativistic study on valence photoelectron spectrum of OsO₄. The developing four-component relativistic and approximate quasi-relativistic methods have been packed in a program suite named REL4D.

  • BOK-X12-ARIMA has been developed by the Bank of Korea in order to accomodate special features such as lunar effect, labor day and election effect which are intrinsic in Korean seasonal time series. Irregular component resulting from BOK-X12-ARIMA is usually treated as white noise time series. If this shows dependency structure, it may be advisable to incorporate dependency in irregular component into prediction. This article illustrates how to refine point forecast using dependency structure in irregular component.

  • Signal is composed of the independent components that can describe itself. These components can distinguish itself from any other signals and be extracted by analysis itself. This algorithm is called Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and image signal is considered as linear combination of independent components and features that is the weighted vector of independent component. This algorithm is already used in order to extract the good feature for image classification and very effective In this paper, we'll explain the method of stereo matching using independent component analysis and show the experimental result.

  • Today's computing system has expanded its application to business trade and distributed work transactions using the Internet. As the demand for more flexible, adaptable, extensible, and robust web-based enterprise, these application development has been gradually expanded based on reusable, independent, and portable components. Component Based Development (CBD) works by developing and evolving software from selected reusable software components and then assembling them within appropriate software architecture. However, it requires an increase in cost to build new components as well as the necessary effort to develop of the business requirement these components. Standardized component models are required as well from the perspective of systems in order to support rapid and exact component information transmission on the web. In this paper, we describe the e-Business Component Development with agent for rapid application development on the web that correspond to the demands of users in the business domain. We design and implement the specifications of e-business components by combining these demands. In order to improve the agent register and retrieval, we propose the intelligent search and register agents, which can conduct more precise searching and specializing for components. The system enables the locating of user's frequently used components through an agent involving register and retrieval, as well as rapid procedures for registers The e-BCOS (e-Business Component System) is the agent system for the user to register distributed components and to search for components Information. The e-BCOS increases reusability through the e-business component development of distributed components in the business domain. For the share and delivery, specification with XML is acceptable to user's variable order e-BCOS Includes the effective investment, timeliness, reliability, efficiency, and maintenance effort by with agent.

  • As the functions and structure of the system are complicated and elaborated, various types of structures are emerging to increase reliability in order to cope with a system requiring higher reliability. Among these, standby systems with standby components for each major component are mainly used in aircraft or power plants requiring high reliability. In this study, we consider a standby system with a multi-functional standby component in which one standby component simultaneously performs the functions of several major components. The structure of a parallel system with multifunctional standby components can also be seen in real aircraft hydraulic pump systems and is very efficient in terms of weight, space, and cost as compared to a basic standby system. All components of the system have complete operation, complete failure, only two states, and the system has multiple states depending on the state of the component. At this time, the multi-functional standby component is assumed to be in a non-operating standby state (Cold Standby) when the main component fails. In addition, the failure rate of each part follows the Weibull distribution which can be expressed as increasing type, constant type, and decreasing type according to the shape parameter. If the Weibull distribution is used, it can be applied to various environments in a realistic manner compared to the exponential distribution that can be reflected only when the failure rate is constant. In this paper, Markov chain analysis method is applied to evaluate the reliability of multi-functional multi-state standby system. In order to verify the validity of the reliability, a graph was generated by applying arbitrary shape parameters and scale parameter values through Excel. In order to analyze the effect of multi-functional multi-state standby system using Weibull distribution, we compared the reliability based on the most basic parallel system and the standby system.

  • The reuse of a programs is classified into white-box reuse to reuse with modification and black-box reuse to reuse without modification. A component in component-based development has the property of black-box reuse. In order to measure resuability of class and component, we must consider all the procedural and object-oriented attribute. In this paper, we propose a new model for measurement of class and component reusability and the measure criteria. A component that is measured by proposed model can know a degree of reuse and we can select which component is high in resuability.
