A New Method for Identifying Higher Volterra Kernel Having the Same Time Coordinate for Nonlinear System

  • A lot of researcher have proposed a method of kernel identifying nonlinear system by use of Wiener kernels[6-7] or Volterra kernel[5] and so on. In this research, the authors proposed a method of identifying Volterra kernels for nonlinear system by use of pseudorandom M-sequence in which a crosscorrelation function between input and output of a nonlinear system is taken[4]. we can be applied to an MISO nonlinear system or a system which depends on its input amplitude[2]. But, there exist many systems in which it is difficult to determine a Volterra kernel having the same time coordinate on the crosscorrelation function. In those cases, we have to estimate Volterra kernel by using its neighboring points[4]. In this paper, we propose a new method for not estimating but obtaining Volterra kernel having the same time coordinate using calculation between the neighboring points. Some numerical simulations show that this method is effective for obtaining higher order Volterra kernel of nonlinear control systems.

  • Recently As the performance of the personal computer has been improving rapidly lots of research for the pc-based numerical computer actively progress in an easy repair maintenance and improving the performance with less cost. This paper presents the design using complex programmable logic device(CPLD). The CPU of Motion Controller that function as the real time control of the independent multi-axis motion the error-detect module and external I/O control made use of 80C196KC, In this paper The PC-NC effectively distributed to the load of NCK(numerical computer kernel) and have the advantage of high speed and precision.

Concrete fragmentation modeling using coupled finite element - meshfree formulations

  • Meshfree methods are known to have the capability to overcome the strict regularization requirements and numerical instabilities that encumber the finite element method (FEM) in large deformation problems. They are also more naturally suited for problems involving material perforation and fragmentation. To take advantage of the high efficiency of FEM and high accuracy of meshfree methods, a coupled finite element (FE) and reproducing kernel (RK, one of the meshfree approximations) formulation is described in this paper. The coupling of FE and RK approximation is implemented in an evolutionary fashion, where the extent and location of the evolution is dependent on a triggering criteria provided by the material constitutive laws. To enhance computational efficiency, Gauss quadrature is applied to integrate both FE and RK domains so that no state variable transfer is required when mesh conversion is performed. To control the hourglassing that might occur with 1-point integrated hexahedral grids, viscous type hourglass control is implemented. Meanwhile, the FEM version of the K&C concrete (KCC) model was modified to make it applicable in both FE and RK formulations. Results using this code and the KCC model are shown for the modeling of concrete responses under quasi-static, blast and impact loadings. These analyses demonstrate that fragmentation phenomena of the sort commonly observed under blast and impact loadings of concrete structures was able to be realistically captured by the coupled formulation.

  • This paper proposes a SVM(Support Vector Machine) training algorithm to control a service robot with voice command. The service robot with a stereo vision system and dual manipulators of four degrees of freedom implements a User-Dependent Voice Control System. The training of SVM algorithm that is one of the statistical learning theories leads to a QP(quadratic programming) problem. In this paper, we present an efficient SVM speech recognition scheme especially based on less learning data comparing with conventional approaches. SVM discriminator decides rejection or acceptance of user's extracted voice features by the MFCC(Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient). Among several SVM kernels, the exponential RBF function gives the best classification and the accurate user recognition. The numerical simulation and the experiment verified the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.

Damage detection of bridges based on spectral sub-band features and hybrid modeling of PCA and KPCA methods

  • This paper proposes a data-driven methodology for online early damage identification under changing environmental conditions. The proposed method relies on two data analysis methods: feature-based method and hybrid principal component analysis (PCA) and kernel PCA to separate damage from environmental influences. First, spectral sub-band features, namely, spectral sub-band centroids (SSCs) and log spectral sub-band energies (LSSEs), are proposed as damage-sensitive features to extract damage information from measured structural responses. Second, hybrid modeling by integrating PCA and kernel PCA is performed on the spectral sub-band feature matrix for data normalization to extract both linear and nonlinear features for nonlinear procedure monitoring. After feature normalization, suppressing environmental effects, the control charts (Hotelling T2 and SPE statistics) is implemented to novelty detection and distinguish damage in structures. The hybrid PCA-KPCA technique is compared to KPCA by applying support vector machine (SVM) to evaluate the effectiveness of its performance in detecting damage. The proposed method is verified through numerical and full-scale studies (a Bridge Health Monitoring (BHM) Benchmark Problem and a cable-stayed bridge in China). The results demonstrate that the proposed method can detect the structural damage accurately and reduce false alarms by suppressing the effects and interference of environmental variations.

  • An universal NURBS interpolation for an open architectured CNC controller is proposed in order to unify internal data structure and algorithm of different interpolations such as linear, circular and spline, and to intelligently interface CAD database of the various workpiece contour. Furthermore, NURBS interpolation may result in better surface roughness and high speed machining due to the continuous generation of cutter movement. The mathematical manipulation of NURBS is presented and the practical implementation on the CNC controller of a lathe is discussed for real machining. The comparison between a computer design and workpieces machined on a lathe shows the feasibility of the NURBS interpolation format as an universal interpolation scheme.

Thermo-mechanical response of size-dependent piezoelectric materials in thermo-viscoelasticity theory

  • The memory response of nonlocal systematical formulation size-dependent coupling of viscoelastic deformation and thermal fields for piezoelectric materials with dual-phase lag heat conduction law is constructed. The method of the matrix exponential, which constitutes the basis of the state-space approach of modern control theory, is applied to the non-dimensional equations. The resulting formulation together with the Laplace transform technique is applied to solve a problem of a semi-infinite piezoelectric rod subjected to a continuous heat flux with constant time rates. The inversion of the Laplace transforms is carried out using a numerical approach. Some comparisons of the impacts of nonlocal parameters and time-delay constants for various forms of kernel functions on thermal spreads and thermo-viscoelastic response are illustrated graphically.

무요소법을 이용한 균열진전 문제의 형상 최적설계 (Shape Design Optimization of Crack Propagation Problems Using Meshfree Methods)

  • 본 논문에서는 재생 커널 기법을 사용하여 혼합모드 균열진전 문제에 대한 연속체 기반의 형상 설계민감도 해석을 수행하였다. 재생 커널 기법은 기존의 유한요소법과 달리 요소망을 재구성할 필요가 없어, 커널 함수의 연속성을 증가시켰을 때 높은 정밀도의 형상함수를 얻을 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 균열선단 주변에서 J-적분을 수행하기 위해 선형탄성 조건이 고려되었다. 변위장과 응력 확대 계수의 설계변수에 대한 감도해석을 위하여 물질도함수를 도입하였으며 직접 미분법보다 효율적인 애조인 방법을 사용하여 설계민감도를 유도하였다. 수치 예제들을 통해서 재생 커널 기법을 이용한 균열진전 해석결과의 타당성을 확인하였으며 애조인 방법을 이용한 형상 설계민감도 해석 결과를 유한차분법과 비교하여 매우 정확하고 효율적인 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 간단한 모델에 대하여 형상 최적설계를 수행하여 균열이 발생될 수 있는 구조물에 대해서 균열에 의한 피해를 최소화할 수 있도록 균열을 제어할 수 있는 최적의 형상을 도출하였다.

생태경제수치모형에 의한 생물다양성 보존에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Conservation of Biodiversity by the Ecological Economic Numerical Model)

  • 생태계의 무분별한 남획과 서식지의 파괴 등으로 생물다양성의 고갈 위험에 처해 있다. 가난한 토착지역에서 농업 생산 증대를 위한 집중적인 비료나 관계 시설 개발로 토양을 황폐하게 한다. 이제 생물다양성 보존은 세계 인류 공존의 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다. Post-2020 GBF 선언이후 토착농업지대의 농업 개발에 관한 모든 거버넌스는 생물다양성 보존 대책으로 지지되고 촉진되어야 한다. 생태계 개발과 생물다양성 손실을 줄이고자 하는 절충방안은 공공 거버넌스 정책 수립에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서 생태계 보존에서 상충되는 경제 및 생태 문제를 해결하기 위해 생존 제어 피드백 해석에 사용되는 생존도 커널을 도입하고, 생존도 커널에 의한 생태경제학적 관점에서 생물다양성 보존에 관한 수학적 모형을 통해 살펴보았다. 생태계의 모든 종은 상호의존적이기에 균형이 깨지면 생물다양성이 고갈하게 되고 이는 비가역적 변화로 결국 멸종으로 치닫게 된다. 생물자원의 지속가능한 이용과 조화를 위하여 모든 생물종들을 효율적으로 보호할 수 있는 창의적 거버넌스 등 많은 정책적인 배려를 필요로 한다. 보조금 지급이나 세금 우대 정책은 생물다양성 보존에 직접적인 영향을 끼친다. 생물다양성이 감소하는 상태에서 생물종의 회복은 그 경제적인 가치가 크다고 할 수 있다. 생물다양성은 토착지역 생산자들이 그들의 독특한 전통 지식을 자랑스럽게 여기고 지역 관광에도 긍정적인 영향을 줌으로써 지역 정체성을 제고하고, 인류의 생존과 번영에 크게 기여할 수 있게 된다.

Finite element-based software-in-the-loop for offline post-processing and real-time simulations

  • In this paper, we introduce a new framework for running the finite element (FE) packages inside an online Loop together with MATLAB. Contrary to the Hardware-in-the-Loop techniques (HiL), in the proposed Software-in-the-Loop framework (SiL), the FE package represents a simulation platform replicating the real system which can be out of access due to several strategic reasons, e.g., costs and accessibility. Practically, SiL for sophisticated structural design and multi-physical simulations provides a platform for preliminary tests before prototyping and mass production. This feature may reduce the new product's costs significantly and may add several flexibilities in implementing different instruments with the goal of shortlisting the most cost-effective ones before moving to real-time experiments for the civil and mechanical systems. The proposed SiL interconnection is not limited to ABAQUS as long as the host FE package is capable of executing user-defined commands in FORTRAN language. The focal point of this research is on using the compiled FORTRAN subroutine as a messenger between ABAQUS/CAE kernel and MATLAB Engine. In order to show the generality of the proposed scheme, the limitations of the available SiL schemes in the literature are addressed in this paper. Additionally, all technical details for establishing the connection between FEM and MATLAB are provided for the interested reader. Finally, two numerical sub-problems are defined for offline and online post-processing, i.e., offline optimization and closed-loop system performance analysis in control theory.
