  • Nonlinear vibration analysis of composite beam reinforced by carbon nanotubes resting on the nonlinear viscoelastic foundation is investigated in this study. The material properties of the composite beam is considered as a polymeric matrix by reinforced carbon nanotubes according to different distributions. With using Hamilton's principle, the governing nonlinear partial differential equations are derived based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. In the nonlinear kinematic assumption, the Von Kármán nonlinearity is used. The Galerkin's decomposition technique is utilized to discretize the governing nonlinear partial differential equation to nonlinear ordinary differential equation and then is solved by using of multiple time scale method. The nonlinear natural frequency and the nonlinear free response of the system is obtained. In addition, the effects of different patterns of reinforcement, linear and nonlinear damping coefficients of the viscoelastic foundation on the nonlinear vibration responses and phase trajectory of the carbon nanotube reinforced composite beam are investigated.

  • Nonlinear partial differential equations are more suitable to model many physical phenomena in science and engineering. In this paper, we consider three nonlinear partial differential equations such as Novikov equation, an equation for surface water waves and the Geng-Xue coupled equation which serves as a model for the unidirectional propagation of the shallow water waves over a at bottom. The main objective in this paper is to apply the generalized Riccati equation mapping method for obtaining more exact traveling wave solutions of Novikov equation, an equation for surface water waves and the Geng-Xue coupled equation. More precisely, the obtained solutions are expressed in terms of the hyperbolic, the trigonometric and the rational functional form. Solutions obtained are potentially significant for the explanation of better insight of physical aspects of the considered nonlinear physical models.

  • In this article, we state and prove several new retarded nonlinear integral and integro-differential inequalities of Gronwall-Bellman-Pachpatte type. These inequalities generalize some former famous inequalities and can be used in examining the existence, uniqueness, boundedness, stability, asymptotic behaviour, quantitative and qualitative properties of solutions of nonlinear differential and integral equations. Applications are provided to demonstrate the strength of our inequalities in estimating the boundedness and global existence of the solution to initial value problem for nonlinear integro-differential equation and Volterra type retarded nonlinear equation. This research work will ensure to open the new opportunities for studying of nonlinear dynamic inequalities on time scale structure of varying nature.

  • Nonlinear free vibration analysis of a functionally graded beam resting on the nonlinear viscoelastic foundation is studied with uniform temperature rising. The non-linear strain-displacement relationship is considered in the finite strain theory. The governing nonlinear dynamic equation is derived based on the finite strain theory with using of Hamilton's principle. The Galerkin's decomposition technique is utilized to discretize the governing nonlinear partial differential equation to nonlinear ordinary differential equation and then is solved by using of multiple time scale method. The influences of temperature rising, material distribution parameter, nonlinear viscoelastic foundation parameters on the nonlinear free response and phase trajectory are investigated. In this paper, it is aimed that a contribution to the literature for nonlinear thermal vibration solutions of a functionally graded beam resting on the nonlinear viscoelastic foundation by using of multiple time scale method.

  • In this paper, some basic results concerning the existence, strict and nonstrict inequalities and existence of the maximal and minimal solutions are proved for a hybrid causal differential equation. Our results generalize some basic results of Leela and Laksh-mikantham [13] and Dhage and Lakshmikantham [10] respectively for the nonlinear first order classical and hybrid differential equations.

  • This paper presents nonlinear oscillations of a carbon nanotube reinforced composite beam subjected to lateral harmonic load with damping effect based on the modified couple stress theory. As reinforcing phase, three different types of single walled carbon nanotubes distribution are considered through the thickness in polymeric matrix. The non-linear strain-displacement relationship is considered in the von Kármán nonlinearity. The governing nonlinear dynamic equation is derived with using of Hamilton's principle. The Galerkin's decomposition technique is utilized to discretize the governing nonlinear partial differential equation to nonlinear ordinary differential equation and then is solved by using of multiple time scale method. The frequency response equation and the forced vibration response of the system are obtained. Effects of patterns of reinforcement, volume fraction, excitation force and the length scale parameter on the nonlinear responses of the carbon nanotube reinforced composite beam are investigated.
