Polyimide/carbon nanotube (CNT) composite films, for potential use in high performance microelectronics and aerospace applications, were prepared by mixing a polyisoimide (PII) solution and a CNT suspension in NMP, followed by casting, evaporation and thermal imidization. The CNTs were modified by a nitric acid treatment to improve the thermal and electrical properties, as well as to provide good dispersion of the CNTs in a polymer matrix. The formation of functional groups on the modified CNT was confirmed by Raman spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the modified CNTs to be well dispersed in the polyimide matrix, with a uniform diameter of ca. 50 nm. The thermal stability of the films containing the CNTs was improved due to the enhanced interfacial interaction and good dispersion between the polyimide matrix and modified CNTs. In addition, the thermal expansion coefficient of the composites films was slightly decreased, but the dielectric constants increased linearly with increasing CNT content.

This paper evaluates the equalization algorithm of FC-MMA (Fast Convergence-Multi Modulus Algorithm) and RMMA (Region based Multi Modulus Algorithm) for the compensation of intersymbol interference which is due to the distortion of communication channel. In order to obtain the error signal for adaptive equalization, the FC-MMA use the modified dispersion constant considering the number of signal symbol, the RMMA separates the 4 region which every symbol points are located, then reduce the symbol point based on this region into constant modulus symbol point. By applying the different principle in order to get the error signal for the updating the tap coefficient of adaptive equalizer, it has the different equalization performance by these error signal. The computer simulation was performed in order to compare the different equalization performance in this paper. The performance index includes the output signal constellation, the residual isi and maximum distortion that is for the convergence characteristics, the SER. As a result of computer simulation, RMMA has more good performance in the residual isi, maximum distortion after in steady state and SER performance than FC-MMA, but not in convergence speed to reach the steady state.

An extension of the modified leap-frog scheme is made to solve the nonlinear shallow-water equations. In the extended model. the physical dispersion of the Boussinesq equations is replaced by the numerical dispersion resulted from the leap-frog finite difference scheme. The model is used to simulate propagations of a solitary wave over a constant water depth and a linearly varying water depth. Obtained numerical results are compared with available analytical and other numerical solutions. A reasonable agreement is observed.
La modified lead zirconate titanate ceramics (Pb0.92La0.08)(Zr0.95Ti0.05)O3 = PLZT-8/95/5 were prepared using the conventional solid state reaction method in order to investigate the complex impedance characteristics of the PLZT-8/95/5 ceramic according to temperature. The complex impedance in the PLZT-8/95/5 ceramic was measured over a temperature range of 30~550 ℃ at several frequencies. The complex dielectric constant anomaly of the phase transition was observed near TU1 = 179 ℃ and TU2 = 230 ℃. A remarkable diffuse dielectric constant anomalous behaviour of the complex dielectric constant was found between 100 ℃ and 550 ℃. The complex impedance spectra below and above TU1 and TU2 were fitted by the superposition of two Cole-Cole types of impedance relaxations. The fast component in the higher frequency region may be due to ion migration in the bulk, and the slow component in the lower frequency region is interpreted to be the formation and migration of ions at the grain boundary or electrode/crystal interfacial polarization.
Modified polyethylenes with polar side groups of -COOK, $-CONH_2$, and -COOH were prepared at a dispersion state in water by reacting poly(ethylene-co-methylacrylate) (PEMA) with aqueous solution of KOH and ammonia. Types and their contents of side groups were investigated by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis and atomic absorption analysis. Solution viscosity and surface tension were also measured as a function of solid contents. Stability and transparency of the dispersions were greatly affected by the content of COOK in the side groups. The stable dispersion could be prepared at a composition of COOK of 20 mole% at least. The transparency was increased with increasing the COOK contents, but decreased with increasing the amide content at a constant composition of COOK. Solution viscosities increased abruptly at a lower solid content when the COOK contents were increased, implying higher entanglement between the chains in dispersions with higher content of hydrophilic COOK group. The dispersions of higher COOK content revealed lower surface tension values.

This paper compares the equalization algorithm of CR-MMA (Constellation Reduction-Multi Modulus Algorithm) and FC-MMA (Fast Convergence-Multi Modulus Algorithm) for the compensation of channel's distortion in transmitting the 2 dimensional 16-QAM signals. The CR-MMA adaptive equalizer use the error signal by reduce the nonconstant modulus signal to constant modulus signal in order to updates the tap coefficient, and the FC-MMA adptive equalizer use the error signal applying the modified dispersion constant considering the number of symbol level instead of signal point reduction. These two algorithm are known to its superior to the convergence characteristic among the MMA series equalizer. In this paper, the other equalization performance including the convergence characteristic was compared by computer simulation. As a result of computer simulation, FC-MMA has more good performance in the residual isi, maximum distortion and SER performance than CR-MMA, but not in convergence speed.

This paper deals with the performance comparison and evaluation of blind adaptive equalizer, the PMCMA-MDD and DW-MCMA, that is used for compensation of the amplitude and phase distortion which occurs in the time dispersive channel. Basically, these algorithms are modification of MCMA cost function in order to obtain the fast convergence speed and reduced residual isi by taking the parallel and serial double structured and the combination of the concept of RCA for the updating the tap coefficient. We implements the algorithm of it and compare the recovered constellation, residual isi, MSE characteristics curve and SER in the signal to noise ratio given the time dispersive channel. As a result of simulation, the PMCMA-MDD has a good in recovered constellation than DW-MCMA. But in the SER, the DW-MCMA has a good than PMCMA-MDD.
The Central East Sea Tsunami caused huge damage to the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula, eapecially Imwon port was damaged relatively strongly beacause of water depth variation which makes the wave concentration on this port. there are many virtual tsunami in east sea which has a possibility of happening. So, it is very important to expect the region which may be damaged by vritual tsunmis. In this study, modified dispersion-correction terms are used. The modified scheme has the advantage of using the constant spatial grid size and time step size even in real topography. Dynamic linking technique and staggered grid system are used. Using this model some cases of virtual tsunami was simulated and check the region which is occured maximum wave heights on the eastern sea of the Korean peninsula.
This article involves a unified treatment of equilibrium thermodynamics of the chemical reaction coupled with other interfacial (phase boundary) reactions. The modified (restrictive) chemical potential ${\mu}_k^+$, such as electrochemical potential, hydrostatic-chemical (mechanochemical) potential (exceptionally in the presence of the pressure difference) and surface-chemical potential, was first introduced under the isothermal and isobaric conditions. This article then enlightened the equilibrium conditions in case where the release of chemical energy is counterbalanced by the supply of electrical energy, by the supply of hydrostatic work (exceptionally in the presence of ${\Delta}p$), and finally by the release of surface energy, respectively, at constant temperature T and pressure p in terms of the modified chemical potential ${\mu}_k^+$. Finally, this paper focussed on the difference between chemical and electrochemical equilibria based upon the fundamentals of the isothermal and isobaric equilibrium conditions described above.

Prepacked concrete has recently been used in the special constructions fields such as underwater concrete work, heavy-weight concrete work, underground structure work, partial repair works for damaged reinforced concrete structures. and polymer-modified mortars have been employed as grouting mortars for the prepacked concrete. The purpose of this study is to recommend the optimum mix design of polymer-modified grouting mortars for prepacked concrete. Polymer-modified mortars using SBR and EVA emulsions as admixture of grouting mortars for prepacked concrete are prepared with various mix proportions such as sand-binder ratio, fly ash replacement ratio, polymer-binder ratio. and tested for flowability, viscosity of grouting mortars, bleeding ratio, expansion ratio, flexural and compressive strengths of grouting mortars and compressive and tensile strengths of prepacked concretes. From the test results, it is apparent that polymer-modified mortars can be produced as grouting mortars when proper mix design is chosen. We can design the mix proportions of high strength mortars for prepacked concrete according to the control of mix design factors such as type of polymer, polymer-binder ratio, sand-binder ratio and fly ash replacement ratio. Water-binder ratio of plain mortars for a constant flowability value are in the ranges of 43% to 50%. SBR-modified mortar has a little water-binder ratios compared to those of plain mortar, however, EVA-modified mortar needs a high water-binder ratio due to a high viscosity of polymer dispersion. The expansion and bleeding ratios of grouting mortars are also controlled in the proper value ranges. Polymer-modified grouting mortars have good flexural. compressive and tensile strengths, are not affected with various properties with increasing fly ash replacement to cement and binder-sand ratio. In this study, SBR-modified grouting mortar with a polymer-binder ratio of 10% or less, a fly ash replacement of 10% to cement and a sand-binder ratio of 1.5 is recommended as a grouting mortar for prepacked concrete.
