Sensor Registry System (SRS) has been devised for maintaining semantic interoperability of data on heterogeneous sensor networks. SRS measures the connectability of the mobile device to ambient sensors based on positions and only provides metadata of sensors that may be successfully connected. The step of identifying the ambient sensors which can be successfully connected is called sensor filtering. Improving the performance of sensor filtering is one of the core issues of SRS research. In reality, GPS sometimes shows the wrong position and thus leads to failed sensor filtering. Therefore, this paper proposes a new sensor filtering strategy using geographical embedding and neural network-based path prediction. This paper also evaluates the service provision rate with the Monte Carlo approach. The empirical study shows that the proposed method can compensate for position abnormalities and is an effective model for sensor filtering in SRS.
In ultra dense networks (UDNs), macro user equipments (MUEs) have significant interference from small-cell access points (SAPs) since a number of SAPs are deployed in the coverage of macro base stations of 5G mobile communication systems. In this paper, we propose a dynamic channel assignment scheme to increase the performance of MUEs for the uplink of UDNs even though the number of SAPs is increased. The target of the proposed dynamic channel assignment scheme is that the signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) of MUEs is above a given SINR threshold assigning different subchannels to SUEs from those of MUEs. Simulation results show that the proposed dynamic channel assignment scheme outperforms others in terms of the mean MUE capacity even though the mean SUE capacity is decreased a little lower.
In order to provide a location-based services regardless of indoor or outdoor space, it is important to provide position information of the terminal regardless of location. Among the wireless/mobile communication resources used for this purpose, Long Term Evolution (LTE) signal is a representative infrastructure that can overcome spatial limitations, but the positioning method based on the location of the base station has a disadvantage in that the accuracy is low. Therefore, a fingerprinting technique, which is a pattern recognition technology, has been widely used. The simplest yet widely applied algorithm among Fingerprint positioning technologies is k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN). However, in the kNN algorithm, it is difficult to find the optimal K value with the lowest positioning error for each location to be estimated, so it is generally fixed to an appropriate K value and used. Since the optimal K value cannot be applied to each estimated location, therefore, there is a problem in that the accuracy of the overall estimated location information is lowered. Considering this problem, this paper proposes a technique for adaptively varying the K value by using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model among Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques. First, by using the signal information of the measured values obtained in the service area, an image is created according to the Physical Cell Identity (PCI) and Band combination, and an answer label for supervised learning is created. Then, the structure of the CNN is modeled to classify K values through the image information of the measurements. The performance of the proposed technique is verified based on actual data measured in the testbed. As a result, it can be seen that the proposed technique improves the positioning performance compared to using a fixed K value.

The use of the Internet has become commonplace for billions of people on the planet. The rapid development of technology, in particular, mobile gadgets, has provided access to communication anywhere, anytime. At the same time, there are growing concerns about the behavior of people on the Internet, in particular, towards each other and social groups in general. This raises the issue of human rights in today's information society. In this study, we focused on human rights such as the right to privacy, confidentiality, freedom of expression, the right to be forgotten, etc. We point to some differences in this regard, in particular between the EU, etc. In addition, we describe the latest legal regulation in this aspect in European countries. Such methods as systemic, factual, formal and legal, to show the factors of formation and development of human rights in the context of digitalization were used. The authors indicate which of them deserve the most attention due to their prevalence and relevance. Thus, we concluded that the technological development of social communications has laid the groundwork for a legal settlement of privacy and opinion issues on the Internet. Simultaneously, jurisdictions address issues on every aspect of human rights on the Internet, based on previous norms, case law, and principles of law. It is concluded that human rights legislation on the Internet will continue to be actively developed to ensure a balance of private and public interests, safe online access and unimpeded access to it.

Today, in the era of the 4th industrial revolution based on the paradigm of hyper-connectivity, super-intelligence, and superconvergence, the remote work environment is becoming central based on technologies such as mobile, cloud, and big data. This remote work environment has been accelerated by the demand for non-face-to-face due to COVID-19. Since the remote work environment can perform various tasks by accessing services and resources anytime and anywhere, it has increased work efficiency, but has caused a problem of incapacitating the traditional boundary-based network security model by making the internal and external boundaries ambiguous. In this paper, we propse a method to improve the limitations of the traditional boundary-oriented security strategy by building a security model centered on core components and their relationships based on the zero trust idea that all actions that occur in the network beyond the concept of the boundary are not trusted.

Over the last few decades, various innovative technologies have emerged that have significantly contributed to making life easier for humans. Various information and communication technologies (ITCs) have emerged as a result of the global technological revolution, including big data, IoT, 4G and 5G networks, cloud computing, mobile computing, and artificial intelligence. These technologies have been adopted in urban planning and development, which gave rise to the concept of smart cities in the 1990s. A smart city is a type of city that uses ITCs to exchange and share information to enhance the quality of services for its citizens. With the global population increasing at unprecedented levels, cities are overwhelmed with a myriad of challenges, such as the energy crisis, environmental pollution, sanitation and sewage challenges, and water quality issues, and therefore, have become a convergence point of economic, social, and environmental risks. The concept of a smart city is a multidisciplinary, unified approach that has been adopted by governments and municipalities worldwide to overcome these challenges. Though challenging, this transformation is essential for cities with differing technological and social features, which all have the potential to determine the success or failure of the digital transformation of cities into smart cities. In recent years, researchers, businesses, and the government have all turned their attention to the emerging field of smart cities. Accordingly, this paper aims to represent a thorough understanding of the movement toward smart cities. The key themes identified are smart city definitions and concepts, smart city dimensions, and smart city architecture of different layers. Furthermore, this article discusses the challenges and some examples of smart cities.

This paper presented a hardware implementation of ARIA, which is a Korean standard l28-bit block cryptography algorithm. In this work, ARIA was designed technology-independently for application such as ASIC or core-based designs. ARIA algorithm was fitted in FPGA without additional components of hardware or software. It was confirmed that the rate of resource usage is about 19% in Altera EPXAl0F1020CI and the resulting design operates stably in a clock frequency of 36.35MHz, whose encryption/decryption rate was 310.3Mbps. Consequently, the proposed hardware implementation of ARIA is expected to have a lot of application fields which need high speed process such as electronic commerce, mobile communication, network security and the fields requiring lots of data storing where many users need processing large amount of data simultaneously.

Portable Internet extended from wireless LAN has a large cell size, similar to a wireless mobile communication. and can provide the seamless service which offers middle-low speed mobility. IEEE 802.16e, the international standard of Portable Internet, uses PKMv2 protocol for authorization and key exchange between a MSS and a BS. This paper proposes a new protocol based on PKMv2, which can provide that MSS is able to do fast authorization with a new BS when soft handover is occurred in a MSS. Our protocol can carry out fast authorization because of reducing the number of messages and parameter exchange, public key encryption and signature in wireless network more than the previous works. It also prevents eavesdropping from an external attacker and keeps the security against impersonation attacks for both a MSS and a BS.

Recently, as mobile operating system market and wireless communication technology have been rapidly developed, many devices such as smart phones, air conditioners, smart TVs, cleaning robot, and cameras become available with android operating system. Accordingly, collecting variety of information through many everyday use devices with network connections is now enabled. However, in the current market, most devices are controlled individually developed applications, and there is growing need to develop a master application that can control multiple devices. In this paper, we propose and implement a system that can control multiple android-based devices on a Wired/Wireless router(AP) registered through web server. we expect such an effort can attribute to future IoT researches.
Smartphones have all the recent technology integration and NFC (Near Field Communication) Technology is one of them and become an essential these days. Despite using smartphones with NFC technology widely, not many security vulnerabilities have been discovered. This paper attempts to identify characteristics and various services in NFC technology, and to present a wide range of security vulnerabilities, prevention, and policies especially in NFC Contactless technology. We describe a security vulnerability and an possible threat based on human vulnerability and traditional malware distribution technic using Peer-to-Peer network on NFC-Enabled smartphones. The vulnerability is as follows: An attacker creates a NFC tag for distributing his or her malicious code to unspecified individuals and apply to hidden spot near by NFC reader in public transport like subway system. The tag will direct smartphone users to a certain website and automatically downloads malicious codes into their smartphones. The infected devices actually help to spread malicious code using P2P mode and finally as traditional DDoS attack, a certain target will be attacked by them at scheduled time.
