  • Some error estimates in terms of the p-norms of the fourth derivative for the remainder in a perturbed trapezoid formula are given. Applications for the expectation of a random variable and the Hermite-Hadamard divergence in Information Theory are also pointed out.

  • This is an extended version of the paper [K] of the author. The average formulas on the circles and disks around arbitrary points of Nevanlinna counting functions of holomorphic self-maps of the unit disk, given in terms of the boundary values of the selfmaps, are shown to give another characterization of the whole class or a special subclass of inner functions in terms of Nevanlinna counting function in addition to the previous applications to Rudin's orthogonal functions.

Kinematic Analysis of the Multi-Link Five-Point Suspension System in Point Coordinates

  • In this paper, a numerical algorithm for the kinematic analysis of a multi-link five-point suspension system is presented. The kinematic analysis is carried out in terms of the rectangular Cartesian coordinates of some defined points in the links and at the joints. Geometric constraints are introduced to fix the relative positions between the points belonging to the same rigid body. Position, velocity and acceleration analyses are carried out. The presented formulation in terms or this system of coordinates is simple and involves only elementary mathematics. The results of the kinematic analysis are presented and discussed.

  • Let $A_1,{\;}A_2,...,A_n$ be a sequence of events on a given probability space. Let $m_n$ be the number of those $A'_{j}s$ which occur. Upper bounds of P($m_n{\;}\geq{\;}1) are obtained by means of probability of consecutive terms which reduce the number of terms in binomial moments $S_2,n,S_3,n$ and $S_4,n$.

  • This paper provides a constructive proof of the weak factorizations of the classical Hardy space H1(ℝn) in terms of multilinear fractional integral operator on the variable Lebesgue spaces, which the result is new even in the linear case. As a direct application, we obtain a new proof of the characterization of BMO(ℝn) via the boundedness of commutators of the multilinear fractional integral operator on the variable Lebesgue spaces.

초등학교 수학 수업에 나타난 초임교사의 교수학적 내용 지식 분석 (An Analysis of Novice Teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge in Elementary Mathematics Teaching)

  • 본 논문은 세 명의 초임교사들의 수학 수업에 나타난 교수학적 내용 지식을 수학내용지식, 학생이해지식, 교수법에 대한 지식이라는 측면에서 상세히 분석하였다. A교사는 부진아였던 학생 시절의 영향을 받아 구체물을 통한 개념 중심의 수업을 구현하고자 하였고, B교사는 수학자처럼 자신만의 사다리꼴의 넓이를 구해보는 탐구 중심의 수업을 구현하였으며, C교사는 실생활 중심 수업을 하였다. 세 명 교사들의 수학 수업에 나타난 교수학적 내용 지식은 구현하려고 하는 수업의 형태에 따라 상당한 차이를 보였다. 본 논문은 세 교사의 수학 수업에 대한 면밀한 분석을 통해 초임교사의 수학과 수업 전문성을 신장하기 위한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

  • An understanding of Fourier series and their generalization is important for physics and engineering students, as much for mathematical and physical insight as for applications. Students are usually confused by the so-called Gibbs' phenomenon, an overshoot between a discontinuous function and its approximation by a Fourier series as the number of terms in the series becomes indefinitely large. In this paper we give short story of Gibbs phenomenon in chronological order.

  • It is known that certain convolution sums can be expressed as a combination of divisor functions and Bernoulli formula. In this article, we consider relationship between fifth-order combinatoric convolution sums of divisor functions and Bernoulli polynomials. As applications of these identities, we give a concrete interpretation in terms of the procedural modeling method.
