  • In this paper, we consider the existence of time periodic solutions for the compressible magneto-micropolar fluids in the whole space ℝ3. In particular, we first solve the problem in a sequence of bounded domains by the topological degree theory. Then we obtain the existence of time periodic solutions in ℝ3 by a limiting process.

  • Two proving methods are investigated. One method uses we mathematical induction and the other uses the progression of difference. Two methods are analysed and compared. As a result, we get a generalization of these series.

  • Gravitational wave (GW) is a probe to observe compact objects (WD, NS, and BHs) in the Universe. Compact binary coalescences (CBCs) were expected to be primary sources of LIGO, VIRGO, and KAGRA. Indeed GW150914 from BH-BH binary coalescence at 430 Mpc was discovered by LIGO between 25-350 Hz. The total system mass of GW150914 is ${\sim}70M_{\odot}$, and about $3M_{\odot}$ of energy is converted to GWs in 0.2s of the observation duration. In lower frequencies below 10 Hz, in addition to CBCs with $1-100M_{\odot}$, more massive sources of ${\sim}1,000-10,000M_{\odot}$ are observable for seconds up to days in time scale. We introduce GW astrophysics and present highlights of target sources for the proposed super conducting low-frequency gravitational-wave telescope (SLGT).

  • Mathematics, by its nature, is a creative activity. Creativity can be developed either through considering its intrinsic beauty or by examining the role that it plays in applications to real world problems. Many of the great mathematicians have been vitally interested in applications and gained inspiration in developing new mathematics from the mathematical descriptions of physical phenomena. In this paper we will examine the processes of applying mathematics by looking at how mathematical models are formed and used. Applications from sport, the environment and populations are used as illustrations.

  • This paper aims to review the overall development of constructivist approaches in science education research from two different perspectives, that is a summary of the past development in science education in general and a report of the outline of a recent research project on students' physics misconceptions in particular. In the summary of the past development of constructivist science education the introduction of constructivism as well as its psychological and philosophical backgrounds are briefly reported. Then main findings of the researches of constructivist approach are discussed in terms of the features of students' misconceptions, of the ways of effective conceptual change, of the implications toward school science education, and of the criticisms given to the constructivist approach. In the report of a recent development in addition to its background necessity and implications, the research structure and the format of the data analysis of the study on the map of students' physics misconceptions are presented. It is particularly emphasized that the practical informations and suggestions for actual teaching of school science, such as the database(DB) of students' misconceptions and teaching guides, are of most practical and effective values in order to maximize the advantage of the constructivist approach to science education.
