  • A small camera module fabricated by including bare chip bonding methods is utilized to realize advanced mobile devices. One of the driving forces is the TOG (Tape On Glass) bonding method which reduces the packaging size of the image sensor clip. The TOG module is a new thinner and smaller image sensor module, using flip chip interconnection method with the ACP (Anisotropic Conductive Paste). The TOG production process was established by determining the optimum bonding conditions for both optical glass bonding and image sensor clip bonding lo the flexible PCB. The bonding conditions, including sufficient bonding margins, were studied. Another bonding method is the flip chip bonding method for DSP (Digital Signal Processor) chip. A new AC\ulcorner was developed to enable the short resin curing time of 10 sec. The bonding mechanism of the resin curing method was evaluated using FEM analysis. By using these flip chip bonding techniques, small camera module was realized.

  • Fourier ptychographic microscopy (FPM) is a recently proposed computational imaging method that achieves both high resolution (HR) and wide field of view. In the FPM framework, a series of low-resolution (LR) images at different illumination angles is used for high-resolution image reconstruction. On the basis of previous research, image noise can significantly degrade the FPM reconstruction result. Since the captured LR images contain a lot of dark-field images with low signal-to-noise ratio, it is very important to apply a noise-reduction process to the FPM raw dataset. However, the thresholding method commonly used for the FPM data preprocessing cannot separate signals from background noise effectively. In this work, we propose an improved thresholding method that provides a reliable background-noise threshold for noise reduction. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more efficient and robust than the conventional thresholding method.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the plan for activation and rationalization of production of ladies' jacket and provide basic materials for improvement of the development of technologies in relation to the productivity improvement of ladies' jacket and the achievement of high quality product. For this purpose, this study attempted to investigate the present situation of jacket manufacturing process. The data is related with local ladies' jacket manufacturing companies in Seoul snd Kyonggi area. The results of this study are as follows. 1. 87.8% of the business firms responded that they acquired the productive process of jacket based on their own knowhow and 80.5% was aware of the need for the analysis of each process. The highest proportion of the business firms(65.9%) pointed out that the advantage of process analysis was the alleviation of the production time. 2. The jacket manufacturing process was made up of 4 stages such as the process of frontal/rear plate $\rightarrow$ the process of accessories $\rightarrow$ the process of completion $\rightarrow$ the process of finishing in a broad sense but composed of a total of 19 stages in detail. 3. Attachment of the sleeves(73.2), attachment of the collar(41.5%) and the formation of the overall silhouette(22.0%) were raised as the challenge in manufacturing ladies' jacket. 4. Most of the sewing business firms made use of the method of completing the collar and then stitching the outer material and the inner collar, and the line of the bodice and the outer collar as the method of stitching the tailored collar. and many of them used the method of completing the collar and then inserting it between the line of the bodice and the outer material and stitching it as the method of stitching the stand collar. They had a preference for the method of completing the sleeve and connecting it to the bodice as the method of stitching the sleeve. and used the method of treating the margin to seam of semi-lined and unlined jacket by treating it with the bias tape.

  • Purpose: This study was undertaken to compare fracture and flexural strength of provisional restorative resins fabricated by additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, and conventional direct technique. Materials and methods: Five types of provisional restorative resin made with different methods were investigated: Stereolithography apparatus (SLA) 3D printer (S3Z), two digital light processing (DLP) 3D printer (D3Z, D3P), milling method (MIL), conventional method (CON). For fracture strength test, premolar shaped specimens were prepared by each method and stored in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. Compressive load was measured using a universal testing machine (UTM). For flexural strength test, rectangular bar specimens ($25{\times}2{\times}2mm$) were prepared by each method according to ISO 10477 and flexural strength was measured by UTM. Results: Fracture strengths of the S3Z, D3Z, and D3P groups fabricated by additive manufacturing were not significantly different from those of MIL and CON groups (P>.05/10=.005). On the other hand, the flexural strengths of S3Z, D3P, and MIL groups were significantly higher than that of CON group (P<.05), but the flexural strength of D3Z group was significantly lower than that of CON group (P<.05). Conclusion: Within the limitation of our study, provisional restorative resins made from additive manufacturing showed clinically comparable fracture and flexural strength as those made by subtractive manufacturing and conventional method.

  • In order to find the optimum design of structures that have characteristic natural frequency range, a numerical optimization method to solving eigenvalue problems is a widely used approach. However in the most cases, it is difficult to decide the accurate thickness and shape of structures that have allowable natural frequency in design constraints. Parallel analysis algorithm involving the feasible direction optimization method and Rayleigh-Ritz eigenvalue solving method is developed. The method is implemented by using finite element method. It calculates the optimal thickness and the thickness ratio of individual elements of the 2-D plane element through a parallel algorithm method which satisfy the design constraint of natural frequency. As a result this method of optimization for natural frequency by using finite element method can determine the optimal size or its ratio of geometrically complicated shape and large scale structure.

  • Discovering the suppliers capable of manufacturing the parts that satisfy buyer requirements via current online market places remains difficult due to semantic differences between what the suppliers can produce and what the buyer wants to acquire. One of the promising approaches to overcome the semantic difference is to adopt an ontology to describe the suppliers' manufacturing capabilities and the buyer requirements that range widely from manufacturing costs to eco-friendly design. Such an ontology dedicated to supplier discovery has yet to be developed. MSDL(Manufacturing Service Description Language) provides the basis for defining terms and their relationships in the ontology. Thus, the objective of this paper is to extend MSDL into a new ontology suitable for supplier discovery in mold manufacturing industry. In addition, a new ontology development method for supplier discovery will be proposed. Finally prototype demonstrations are provided to show a feasibility of the proposed ontology in mold manufacturing domains.

  • A production system is a management system that supports all activities to perform production operations at the manufacturing site. From the point-of-view of a smart factory, smart manufacturing systems redesigned the concept of onsite production systems to fit the entire system and its necessary functional composition. In this study, we select the key functions needed to build a smart factory for a PCB line and propose a new six-step model for the deployment of a smart manufacturing system by integrating essential functions. The smart manufacturing system newly classified the production and operation tasks of PCB manufacturing and selected necessary functions through requirement analysis and benchmarking of advanced companies. The selected production operation tasks are mapped to the functions of the system and configured into seven modules, and the optimal deployment model is presented to allow flexible responses to the characteristics of the tasks. These methodologies are first presented in this study, and the proposed model was applied to the PCB line to confirm that they had significant changes in the work method, qualitative effects, and quantitative effects. Typically, lead time and WIP have reduced by about 50%.

  • Laser aided Direct Metal Tooling(DMT) process is a kind of Additive Manufacturing processes (or 3D-Printing processes), which is developed for using various commercial steel powders such as P20, P21, SUS420, H13, D2 and other non-ferrous metal powders, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys and so on. The DMT process is a versatile process which can be applied to various fields like the mold industry, the medical industry, and the defense industry. Among of them, the application of DMT process to the mold industry is one of the most attractive and practical applications since the conformal cooling channel core of injection molds can be fabricated at the slightly expensive cost by using the hybrid fabrication method of DMT technology compared to the part fabricated with the machining technology. The main objectives of this study are to provide various characteristics of the parts made by DMT process compared to the same parts machined from bulk materials and prove the performance of the injection mold equipped with the conformal cooling channel core which is fabricated by the hybrid method of DMT process.

  • Looking at Korea's manufacturing industry, there are many old manufacturing plants. In fact, the manufacturing process of the product inventory management and the unit price of the product are all created by using Excel, and the factory is operated by using it. Also, the operator can not predict the failure of the equipment in order to produce the product at work. Problems related to this may result in the loss of the documents during the instruction and work process between the manager and the worker, and the communication between the manager and the worker can not be properly performed, There is appear a situation in which the operation is continued by using the equipment without recognizing in the failure. In this paper, we propose a method for upgrading the aging manufacturing plant to improve the productivity and productivity of the product by predicting the efficient inventory management, unit price management, production volume, and the operator's failure prediction.
