  • Let $\Omega$ be a bounded pseudoconvex domain in$C^{n}$ with smooth defining function r and let$z_0\; {\in}\; b{\Omega}$ be a point of finite type. We also assume that $\Omega$ is convex in a neighborhood of $z_0$. Then we prove that all the holomorphic sectional curvatures of the Bergman metric of $\Omega$ are bounded below by a negative constant near $z_0$.

  • In this paper, we study well-posed problems and variational inequalities in locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces. The necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of solutions of variational inequality problems and quasi variational inequalities even when the underlying set K is not convex. In certain cases, solutions obtained are not unique. Moreover, counter examples are also presented for the authenticity of the main results.

  • It is well-known that if a convex hyperbolic polygon is constructed as a fundamental domain for a subgroup of the modular group, then its translates by the group elements form a locally finite tessellation and its side-pairing transformations form a system of generators for the group. Such hyperbolically convex polygons can be obtained by using Dirichlet's and Ford's polygon constructions. Another method of obtaining a fundamental domain for subgroups of the modular group is through the use of a right coset decomposition and we call such domains standard fundamental domains. In this paper we give subgroups of the modular group which do not have hyperbolically convex standard fundamental domain containing only inequivalent cusps.

  • We characterize Gelfand-continuous functions from a Tychonoff space X into an Arens-Michael algebra A. Then we define several algebras of such functions, and investigate them as topological algebras. Finally, we provide a class of examples of (metrizable) commutative unital complete Arens-Michael algebras A and locally compact spaces X for which all these algebras differ from each other.

  • A modified BFGS algorithm for solving the unconstrained optimization, whose Hessian matrix at the minimum point of the convex function is of rank defects, is presented in this paper. The main idea of the algorithm is first to add a modified term to the convex function for obtain an equivalent model, then simply the model to get the modified BFGS algorithm. The superlinear convergence property of the algorithm is proved in this paper. To compared with the Tensor algorithms presented by R. B. Schnabel (seing [4],[5]), this method is more efficient for solving singular unconstrained optimization in computing amount and complication.

  • A strong Banach-Mackey property is established for ${\kappa}$-spaces including all complete and some non-complete metric linear spaces and some non-metrizable locally convex spaces. As applications of this result, a strong uniform boundedness result and a new Banach-Steinhaus type theorem are obtained.

  • We give general fixed point theorems for compact multimaps in the "better" admissible class $B^{K}$ defined on admissible convex subsets (in the sense of Klee) of a topological vector space not necessarily locally convex. Those theorems are used to obtain results for $\Phi$-condensing maps. Our new theorems subsume more than seventy known or possible particular forms, and generalize them in terms of the involving spaces and the multimaps as well. Further topics closely related to our new theorems are discussed and some related problems are given in the last section.n.

  • For $1{\leq}{\alpha}<2$, let $\mathcal{F}({\alpha})$ denote the class of locally univalent normalized analytic functions $f(z)=z+{\Sigma}_{n=2}^{\infty}{a_nz^n}$ in the unit disk ${\mathbb{D}}=\{z{\in}{\mathbb{C}}:{\left|z\right|}<1\}$ satisfying the condition $Re\(1+{\frac{zf^{{\prime}{\prime}}(z)}{f^{\prime}(z)}}\)>{\frac{{\alpha}}{2}}-1$. In the present paper, we shall obtain the sharp upper bound for Fekete-$Szeg{\ddot{o}}$ functional $|a_3-{\lambda}a_2^2|$ for the complex parameter ${\lambda}$.

  • Turbulent jet in a crossflow, issuing from a row of holes on a convex surface of 90 .deg. bend duct, is predicted by a 3-dimensional numerical method. The Cartesian coordinate system in adopted in upstream and downstream tangents and the cylindrical polar coordinate system in curved region. The Reynolds stresses and heat fluxes are obtained from a standard k-e model in the core region and van Driest model in the vicinity of the wall. The governing equations are discretized by a finite volume method and solutions are obtained by a locally elliptic calculation procedure. Pressure and convective terms are treated by SIMPLE algorithm and hybrid scheme respectively. A vortex initially induced by the injected jet has been built up due to the interaction with the secondary flow caused by pressure gradient and centrifugal force. The vortex structure has a strong influence on the wall cooling effectiveness. Another vortex like horseshoe is formed in the vicinity of the injection hole and its strength is getting weak as it moves downward.

  • This paper introduces a local non-positivity of two set-valued mappings (F,Q) and considers the existences and properties of solutions for set-valued mixed vector FQ-implicit variational inequality problems and set-valued mixed vector FQ-complementarity problems in the neighborhood of a point belonging to an underlined domain K of the set-valued mappings, where the neighborhood is contained in K. This paper generalizes and extends many results in [1, 3-7].
