  • This paper has been studied the design of 16-QAM demodulator used in broadband wireless local loop subscriber station. In B-WLL systems, transmission signal experience the inter symbol interference(ISI) due to multipath, frequency offset of RF/IF local oscillator and phase offset. In this paper, we discuss the effective data recovery algorithm for 16-QAM demodulator to compensate the distorted signal from ISI, frequency offset and phase offset.

강연선의 국부적 손상에 따른 응력 회복길이 분석 연구 (Study on Stress Recovery Length of 7-Wire Strand due to Local Damage)

  • 본 연구는 PSC(Post Tensioned Concrete) 교량 및 사장교(Cable Stayed Bridge) 등에 많이 적용되는 강연선의 국부적 손상에 따른 응력 회복길이를 분석하였다. 강연선은 PC 강선(Prestressing Strand)을 여러 줄을 꼬은 강재이며, 재료의 특성상 준공후 지속적으로 손상이 발생하며 부식 등이 주요 손상원인이다. 이에 따른 손상에 따른 성능저하가 발생하지만, 구조적인 특성상 케이블 내부의 손상 정도 및 응력 변화 패턴을 파악하기 어렵다. 교량에 적용된 케이블의 경우 설치 형상에 따라 채수 등에 따라 부식에 취약한 부분이 발생하며, 이로 인해 국부적인 손상이 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구는 교량 Post-Tensioning 또는 케이블 사장재에 주로 적용되는 강연선(7-Wire Strand)의 국부적 손상에 따른 성능저하 경향 및 응력 회복길이를 FEA 해석을 통하여 분석하였다. 향후 본 연구에서 구축하고자 하는 해석모델을 활용하여 PSC 교량 및 사장교 케이블 등의 안전성 평가 및 잔존수명 예측에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

분기 정보의 추측적 사용과 효율적 복구 기법 (Branch Prediction with Speculative History and Its Effective Recovery Method)

  • 분기 명령어에 대한 예측 정확도는 시스템의 전체 성능 향상에 중대한 영향을 미친다. 분기 정보의 추측적 사용은 미완료 분기에 대한 히스토리 정보를 추측적으로 사용하여 분기 예측을 수행한다. 이러한 방식은 분기 명령어의 가장 최근 기록을 일관되게 사용할 수 있도록 도와주기 때문에 분기 예측의 정확도 향상에 크게 기여한다. 하지만 미완료 분기 히스토리는 올바르지 못한 정보일 수 있으며, 이런 경우 적절한 복구기법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 분기 정보의 추측적 사용에 대한 성능 향상의 정도를 살피고, 분기 정보의 추측적 사용에 대한 필요성을 제시한다. 아울러, 분기 정보의 추측적 사용으로 인해 요구되는 적절한 복구 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 전역 분기 히스토리를 사용하는 분기 예측기와 지역 분기 히스토리를 사용하는 분기 예측기에 각각 적용 될 수 있는 방식들이다. 모의실험을 통해 본 논문에서 제안된 방식의 성능을 분석한 결과, 본 논문에서 제안된 기법이 최대 5.64%의 성능향상을 제공하였다. 아울러 프로그램 수행의 정확성을 해치지 않으면서 기존의 연구와 비교하여 90% 이상의 하드웨어 요구량의 감소를 가져왔다.

Error estimation for 2-D crack analysis by utilizing an enriched natural element method

  • This paper presents an error estimation technique for 2-D crack analysis by an enriched natural element (more exactly, enriched Petrov-Galerkin NEM). A bare solution was approximated by PG-NEM using Laplace interpolation functions. Meanwhile, an accurate quasi-exact solution was obtained by a combined use of enriched PG-NEM and the global patch recovery. The Laplace interpolation functions are enriched with the near-tip singular fields, and the approximate solution obtained by enriched PG-NEM was enhanced by the global patch recovery. The quantitative error amount is measured in terms of the energy norm, and the accuracy (i.e., the effective index) of the proposed method was evaluated using the errors which obtained by FEM using a very fine mesh. The error distribution was investigated by calculating the local element-wise errors, from which it has been found that the relative high errors occurs in the vicinity of crack tip. The differences between the enriched and non-enriched PG-NEMs have been investigated from the effective index, the error distribution, and the convergence rate. From the comparison, it has been justified that the enriched PG-NEM provides much more accurate error information than the non-enriched PG-NEM.

Learning Framework for Robust Planning and Real-Time Execution Control

  • In this Paper, an attempt is made to establish a learning framework for robust planning and real-time execution control. Necessary definitions and concepts are clearly presented to describe real-time operational control in response to Plan disruptions. A general mathematical framework for disruption recovery is also laid out. Global disruption model is decomposed into suitable number of local disruption models. Execution Pattern is designed to capture local disruptions using decomposed-reverse neural mappings, and to further demonstrate how the decomposed-reverse mappings could be applied for solving disrubtion recovery problems. Two decomposed-reverse neural mappings, N-K-M and M-K-N are employed to produce transportation solutions in react-time. A potential extension is also discussed using the proposed mapping principle and other hybrid heuristics. Experimental results are provided to verify the proposed approach.

  • An optimum thermal design analysis of the combined cycle power plant with triple pressure heat recovery steam generator was performed by the numerical simulation. The optimum design module used in the paper is DNCONF, a function of IMSL Library, which is widly known as a method to search for the local optimum. The objective function to be minimized is the cost of total power plant including the steam turbine power enhancement premium. The result of this paper shows that the cost reduces if the design point of power plant becomes the local optimum, and many calculations at various initial conditions should be carried out to get the value near the global optimum.

Optimization of Extraction Parameters for Keratinase Recovery from Fermented Feather under Solid State Fermentation by Streptomyces sp. NRC 13S

  • The effects of solvent type and concentration, solid/liquid ratio, extraction time and repeated extraction on recovery of keratinase from solid-state fermentation (SSF) of chicken feather by a local Streptomyces sp. NRC 13S were investigated in order to establish the experimental conditions for keratinase yield. Among solvents tested, 0.5% (v/v) glycerol was the best. Box-Behnken design was used to investigate the effect of relevant variables on keratinase recovery. The factors investigated were solid/liquid ratio (1:1.66-1:6.66 g/mL), glycerol concentration (0.5-5% v/v) and repeated extraction (1-5 cycle). The results showed that the maximum recovery of keratinase (6933.3 U/gfs) was obtained using 0.5 (v/v) glycerol as extracting solvent, in a solid/liquid ratio of 1:5 and three extraction cycles.

  • This paper studies a joint EOQ and EPQ model in which a stationary demand can be satisfied by recycled products as well as newly purchased products. The model assumes that a fixed quantity of the used products are collected from customers and later recovered for reuse. The recovered products are regarded as perfectly new ones. We also assume that the number of orders for newly purchasing items and the number of recovery setups in a cycle can be mutually independent integers. Under these assumptions, we develop an optimization model obtaining the economic order quantity for newly procured products, the optimal lot size for the recovery process, and the sequence of the orders and the setups, simultaneously. And then a simple solution procedure to find a local optimal control parameter set is proposed. To validate the model and the solution procedure, finally, some computational experiments are presented.

  • New soft recovery drive which can alleviate the loss due to reverse recovery of diode is proposed. By using this drive, the reverse current of the diode is minimized and stabilized because there is inner local feedback loop between the turn-on current of the power MOSFET and the reverse recovery current of the diode. The loss and EMI noise can be considerably reduced in this way. Brief operational principle and experimental results are included to verify the usefulness.

지역경제 활성화를 위한 사회적 기업에 관한 탐색적 연구 : 커뮤니티 비즈니스를 중심으로 (An Exploratory Research on the Social Enterprise for Local Economic Activation : Focus on Community Business)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the new model of successful social enterprise on the basis of local economy and industry in Korea. The trends and definitions of social enterprise were discussed first of all and community business model operated by civilians and members of a community was studied. The community business of local friendly type(LFT) was focused especially. Some factors of LFT are such as the solution of economic polarization and employment aggravation, the recovery of local community, the solution of local problem, and new method of labor contract. As the result of exploratory analysis on community business in Korea, Some distinctive features were showed that the majority of business was managed by local government, the outcomes of local community business were improvement of local income and creation of employment. Also, there were barriers such as finance, marketing, and lack of entrepreneurship. In conclusion, community business enterprise on the basis of local is effective to develop local economy and it should be owned by local civilians. In addition, long-term aims, entrepreneurship, and positiveness need for making of local society wealth.
