  • The purpose of this study is to establish the direction for creating the beautiful and lively space of the reli-gious architecture as a consquence of trying to under-stand the forms of control of the light and the symbolic meaning of the production in the interior space of the re-ligious architecture. The scope of this study has been limited to the natural light and to the establishment of theoretical background by analyzing the essence and method of space formation by the light in a side view of development and psychology and establishing the concept related to the architectur-al space formation of the light as well as researching and analyzing the meaning and the method of production of the light. And at the same time the conclusion has been induced as a guide of verifying theoretical background by analyz-ing the practical use related to the control and the pro-duction of the light through the spot research and the referential materials in a way of case research into 5 do-mestic religious architectures as the subject of research.

사용자 요구 조도 보장 에너지 효율적 실내 조명 시스템 조명 방향 및 광속 제어 기법 (A Lighting direction and Luminous Flux Control for Energy-efficiency under Illuminance Requirements in Indoor Lighting Systems)

  • The management of energy resources for efficient utilization of the energy resources while reducing the system costs is a critical technical issue. Among many kinds of the energy resource management, the energy reduction for indoor lighting systems is getting much concern as a large portion of energy consumption has been made for indoor lightings. In this paper, an energy-efficient lighting control scheme for indoor lighting systems in order to reduce the energy consumption by controlling the luminous flux and the lighting direction under the illuminance constraints is proposed. With the use of the user location information for the luminaire which is closely located to the user, the proposed scheme firstly sets the light direction of the luminaire to be aligned to the user location. Then, an optimization problem to find the luminous flux of each luminaire is formulated in order to minimize the luminous flux sum of the luminaires with the constraints for the dynamic ragne of the luminous flux, and the light flux for each luminaire is determined by the solution of the problem. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the luminaire control scheme with only the luminous flux control in the evaluation of satisfaction of the required illuminance level.

Optical Design of LED module for Street Light Applications

  • In this paper, the optical properties of the 54[W] LED module have confirmed by changing the angles of LED modules for street light applications. The angle of LED module changed from the $0[^{\circ}]$ to $60[^{\circ}]$ varying by $20[^{\circ}]$ as horizontal direction ${\ominus}_1$. Morever, the angle of LED module changed from the $0[^{\circ}]$ to $15[^{\circ}]$ varying by $5[^{\circ}]$ as vertical direction ${\ominus}_2$. As a result of simulation, the average illumination was about 17[lux] and the overall illuminance uniformity was 0.29 for a 10.39[m] long and 6[m] wide illuminance area at height of 6[m], which is acceptable for street lighting illumination in the Illuminating Engineering Society(IES) standard.

  • We examine the surface alignment of liquid crystals (LC's) by a double linearly polarized ultraviolet (LPUV) light expose process. Exposing polarized light induces a surface anisotropy to polyimide (PI) layer surfaces and hence determines the alignment direction. LPUV exposes with angular difference of $45^{\circ}$ between two polarization directions make LC director change.

도시 경관향상을 위한 경전철 교각의 시각적 특성 (Visual Characteristics of Light Rail Transit Pier for Improving Urban Landscape)

  • Urban sprawl has been the limits of traffic accommodate and the supply road. Thus, Light Rail Transit(LRT) has been proposed as the best alternative. Owing to landscape damage from construction of LRT, landscape planning should be considered seriously in the urban planning step. This paper therefore seeks to determine landscape improvement direction of LRT pier. First, the methods in this study shared landscape improvement direction type of LRT pier through previous studies such as planting of surface(30%, 60%, 90% planting of surface), graphic(character, commercial advertising, symbol), and surface treatment type(exposed concrete, white painting, pattern dies). Next, respondent evaluated 3D simulated landscape image accordingly shared types by preference and landscape adjectives using in streetscape evaluation. As a result, visual preference was the highest in planting type of surface and the lowest in the surface treatment type. Covering 60%(4.48) in planting type of surface was the highest. Because it is similar to the golden ratio considering the visual principle, we will need to take advantage through the result of this paper. Also, most landscape improvement direction which satisfied with significant level showed a positive effect from landscape improvement. Comprehensively based on these results, it suggests desirable landscape improvement direction of LRT pier in the city for solution of landscape inhibition problem.

상아질 접착제의 중합 시간 조절에 따른 복합레진의 중합 수축 방향의 변화 (THE EFFECT OF ADHESIVE CURING TIMING ON THE DIRECTION OF POLYMERIZATION SHRINKAGE OF COMPOSITE RESIN)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of adhesive curing timing on the direction of polymerization shrinkage of light-curing composite resin. In this study, the curing times of adhesive and composite resin were measured by differential scanning calorimeter(DSC). 28 extracted human molars were embedded in clear resin and box-type cavities were prepared. Based on DSC data, the experimental teeth were divided into 4 groups. Group 1: no bond; Group 2: late curing; Group 3: Intermediate curing; Group 4: Early curing. After treating with adhesive, the buccal cavities were filled with Z-100 hybrid composite resin and the lingual ones were filled with AEliteflo flowable composite resin. The depressions at the surface were measured by surface profilometer, then the specimens were embedded in clear resin and sectioned. Impressions were obtained and used to get epoxy resin replicas. The epoxy replicas were gold-coated and observed under SEM. Average Maximum Gap(AMG), Gap Proportion(GP), Average Marginal Index(AMI) were used to compare the shrinkage gap of each group. The results were statistically analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis One Way ANOVA, Student-Newman-Keuls method. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Average Maximum Gap, Gap Proportion, Average Marginal Index and depression at the surface or Z-100 hybride composite resin were smaller than those of AEliteflo flowable composite resin(P<0.05). 2. When the bonding between composite resin and tooth structure was strong, the shrinkage gap was small, and depression at the surface was deep(P<0.05). 3. In the well-bonded group, light-curing composite resin shrank toward bonded cavity wall, not toward light source. The result suggested that the direction of polymerization shrinkage was affected by the quality of bonding in the dentin-resin interface. The strong was the bonding between composite resin and tooth structure, the smaller was the gap and the deeper was the depression at the surface. Then the flow to compensate the polymerization shrinkage proceeded from surface to bonded cavity wall.

Fabrication of Viewing Angle Direction Brightness-Enhancement Optical Films using Surface Textured Silicon Wafers

  • We demonstrate a low-cost, superbly efficient way of etching for the nano-, and micro-sized pyramid patterns on (100)-oriented Si wafer surfaces for use as a patterned master. We show a way of producing functional optical films for the viewing angle direction brightness-enhancement of Lambertian LED (light emitting diode)/OLED (organic light emitting diode) planar lighting applications. An optimally formulated KOH (Potassium hydroxide) wet etching process enabled random-positioned, and random size-distributed (within a certain size range) pyramid patterns to be developed over the entire (100) silicon wafer substrates up to 8" and a simple replication process of master patterns onto the PC (poly-carbonate) and PMMA (poly-methyl methacrylate) films were performed. Haze ratio values were measured for several film samples exhibiting excellent values over 90% suitable for LED/OLED lighting purposes. Brightness was also improved by 13~14% toward the viewing angle direction. Computational simulations using LightTools$^{TM}$ were also carried out and turned out to be in strong agreement with experimental data. Finally, we could check the feasibility of fabricating low-cost, large area, high performance optical films for commercialization.

유도등 제어시스템의 개발 (The development of the escape light control system)

  • 최근 건축구조물의 복잡화, 다양화로 인하여 화재발생시 유독가스의 심각성과 공간의 특수성으로 대형 참사가 발생될 위험이 더욱 커짐에 따라 인명피해와 직접적으로 연결되는 피난탈출에 있어서 조속한 대책 마련이 시급한 실정이다. 기존 방식의 고정식 단방향을 표시하는 피난유도등은 효율적인 인명 대피 및 구조가 이루어지지 못하기 때문에 화재 발생 시 빠른 피난이 가능하도록 화재감지기와 연동하여 위험에 처한 피난자들을 탈출시키고 화재의 발생위치를 정확히 파악하여 초기 진압할 수 있는 시스템 구축이 절실히 요구된다. 이러한 점에 착안하여 ID를 가지는 화재 감지기 및 수신반과 연동하여 화재가 발생하면 화재가 발생된 방향의 반대 방향으로 모든 유도등의 방향을 제어하여 안전한 비상출입구로 사람들을 유도시키고 화염 및 연기의 방향과 속도를 계산하여 포기진압 및 최적 대피로로 방향을 표시하는 인공지능형 방향성 유도등 개발에 본 연구의 목적이 있다.

  • 자동차 바퀴 방향 지시기란 운전자가 차 내부에서 자동차의 바퀴 방향을 실시간으로 알 수 있도록 전자 장비에 바퀴의 방향을 표시해주는 시스템으로서, 본 연구에서는 자동차 핸들의 회전량을 측정하여 LED(Light Emitted Diode)와 LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)에 자동차 바퀴에 대한 방향 정보를 표시하는 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 즉, 이렇게 자동차의 핸들 회전량을 측정하여 그 측정 데이터를 데이터 처리부에 적절하게 적용함으로써 자동차 내부에서 운전자가 인지할 수 있도록 해준다면 주차된 차를 주행하기 위해 자동차 창문을 열고 바퀴 방향을 봐야하는 등의 번거로움을 해소시킬 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the artistic characteristics of light and adjustment in space, and how meaningful this integral phenomenon is to human beings , whin a space is transformed into a dynamic subject by light. When we create a very unique space we need to adjust light in all environments and must recognize the substance of light in all human spaces. The study of interior design is dependant on the existence of these lights in space. Light plays a very integral role in life having great contingency in the artistic characteristics represented in space. Light is a non-materialistic substance. However, when this substance is realized as a materialistic , light has a very visual effect, having a pleasing and satisfying effect on humans. The artistic characteristic of light in interior space are represented through elements of tranquility , direction . recognition, symbolism , and design. Light has a limitless amount of potential for giving humans boundless possibilities in space and expression . By studying psychological and physical aspects of the flow of light we are able to enjoy its fruitful benefits in the space of interior architectural design.
