Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech Recognition Based on Language Model Network (언어 모델 네트워크에 기반한 대어휘 연속 음성 인식)

  • In this paper, we present an efficient decoding method that performs in real time for 20k word continuous speech recognition task. Basic search method is a one-pass Viterbi decoder on the search space constructed from the novel language model network. With the consistent search space representation derived from various language models by the LM network, we incorporate basic pruning strategies, from which tokens alive constitute a dynamic search space. To facilitate post-processing, it produces a word graph and a N-best list subsequently. The decoder is tested on the database of 20k words and evaluated with respect to accuracy and RTF.

  • Some sections of the exhaust system to determine the shape of the duct is to suffer the difficulties by space constraints to install new equipment of the environment post-treatment for existing operation of the power plants. In this paper the large duct in flue gas desulfurization equipments of the 500MW coal-fired power plant on the current operation is numerically analyzed from induced draft fan exit to booster up fan inlet section which is in the narrow space of the exhaust system with four times bending and is connected to emergency duct to bypass the exhaust gas on the emergency operation. The procedure and method using computational fluid dynamics are proposed to maintain the stability of the guide vane with the uniform flow and a minimum pressure loss of exhaust gas in the case of normal and emergency operation between the direction of the flow of exhaust gas duct at different.

  • Industrial robot has played a central role in the production automation such as welding, assembling, and painting. There has been, however, little effort to the application of robots in machining work(grinding, cutting, milling, etc.) which is typical 3D work. The machining automation requires a high stiffness robot arm to reduce deformation and vibration. Conventional articulated robots have serially connecting links from the base to the gripper. So, they have very weak structure for he machining work. Stewart Platform is a typical parallel robotic mechanism with a very high stiffness but it has a small work space and a large installation space. This research proposes a new machining robot arm with a double parallel mechanism. It is composed of two platforms and a central axis. The central axis will connect the motions between the first and the second platforms. Therefore, the robot has a large range of work space as well as a high stiffness. This paper will introduce the machining work using the robot and design the proposed robot arm.

Accuracy Assessment for Measuring Surface Figures of Large Aspheric Mirrors

  • At the time that the Keck-I 10m telescope was constructed in 1993, the era of Very Large Telescopes (VLTs) was opened. Now thirteen VLTs are in operation, and the largest of the monolithic mirrors is 8.4 m in diameter. Such monolithic mirrors are mostly aspheric and require high accuracies on the surface figures, reaching up to the diffraction limit. At present, next generation telescopes, Giant telescopes, are being developed. One is the GMT (Giant Magellan Telescope) whose size is 25.4 m in diameter. The primary mirror consists of seven segments figuring elliptical shapes on the surface. The surrounding six segments are off-axis and the edges are steep, as the fast focal ratio is adopted. It means that testing of the mirrors is a challenging task. In this paper, testing methods for the GMT primary mirror are reviewed, and accuracy of measuring devices is assessed. Results and discussions follow.

  • This literature review explores relevant research and evaluation on pedagogy and physical learning spaces. This study also is intended to encourage discussion among stakeholders on the best medical school developments, in light of emerging learning trends relevant to their institutions. The study has revealed that new environments for learning are being designed or reshaped in response to changing pedagogical approaches, to incorporate new information technology, and to accommodate the changing abilities of new generations of learners. Formal teaching spaces for large groups with a 'sage on a stage' are becoming less common than smaller lecture rooms, although classrooms form a large component of universities and will continue to dominate in the future. However, the traditional layout of these spaces is being transformed to incorporate multiple learning modes. Classrooms should be profound places of revelation and discovery. A well-designed space has the ability to elevate discourse, encourage creativity, and promote collaboration. Within the classroom walls, a learning space should be as flexible as possible, not only because different teachers and classes require different configurations, but because in order to fully engage in learning, students need to transition between lectures, group study, presentations, discussions, and individual work time.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the application tendency of the western classical style which appears in contemporary performing arts centers. The types of space in performing arts centers were investigated according to the times. There were somewhat fixed stage and auditorium types for each period ; the ancient times had the arena stage and round auditorium, the Renaissance the proscenium stage and the U-shaped auditorium, the Elizabethan period the thrust stage and polygonal auditorium, and the modern times the proscenium and apron stage, the horseshoe and fan type auditorium. Today since the purposes of performance are multiple, a variety of stage types are applied to each performing arts center. They use various spaces and performances of multiple purposes by moving and transforming the stage and auditorium according to the kinds of performance as a variation of the arena and proscenium stage. Recently there appear complex performing arts centers that can plan performing spaces of diverse sizes and forms to fit the functions of a performance in a large building. Since they put on performances in a large space according to the characteristics of the kind of performance, the intentions and goals of the performance are well delivered to the audience.

NEAR-EARTH OBJECT SURVEY SIMULATIONS WITH A REVISED POPULATION MODEL

  • We carried out a set of simulations to reproduce the performance of wide-field NEO surveys based on the revised population model of Near Earth Objects (NEOs) constructed by Morbidelli (2006). This is the first time where the new model is carefully compared with discovery statistics, and with the exception of population model, the simulation is identical to the procedure described in Moon et al. (2008). Our simulations show rather large discrepancy between the number of NEO discoveries made by the actual and the simulated surveys. First of all, unlike Bottke et al. (2002)'s, Morbidelli (2006)'s population model overestimates the number of NEOs. However, the latter reproduces orbit distributions of the actual population better. Our analysis suggests that both models significantly underestimate Amors, while overestimating the number of Apollos. Our simulation result implies that substantial modifications of both models are needed for more accurate reproduction of survey observations. We also identify Hungaria region (HU) to be one of the most convincing candidates that supply a large fraction of asteroids to the inner Solar System.

  • Living room in modern housing accepts social behavior of modem family realized diversified life and the core of the housing space. So living room in the housing space is composed of many various components, handled very carefully in a color plan. This study is purposed on proposing basic data for color planing of the living room in an apartment, especially a sold housing accommodating the social change. As a result of understanding the color image of a apartment living room for the last 5 years, phenomenon of using natural color which makes people feel comfortable is common with durability. Also the image of space composition which usually called in modern, classic and dandy is appeared with various coloration easily in a medium-large or large living room, So these show the various demand of high-level or medium-level inhabitants. For an actual proof, basic data for research about the color image of a apartment living room in korea have to be accumulated constantly. After that the research which can take concrete shape and visualize the change of the color image of korean apartment living room will revitalize.

Study on Robot Calibration Using Multi-measurement Coordinate System (다중 측정 좌표계를 이용한 로봇 캘리브레이션 방법 연구)

  • Robot calibration needs accurate measurements of robot end-effector position at a number of different robot configurations. One of the efficient ways of the measurement is "Touching on Jig" method suggested in [7], which utilizes a touch sensor and a fixture consisting of various sizes of blocks. By moving the end-effector to touch the surface of a block whose position relative to the other is known, the end-effector position relative to the fixture coordinate system can be obtained at the instant of touching. However, the global size of fixture is too small to cover the various configurations of the robot. Because of the manufacturing difficulties, the fixture cannot be manufactured large enough for well distributed position measurement. It results in the improvement of robot accuracy only in the limited space near to the fixture rather than over the whole space of the robot working volume. The paper proposes a method to resolve the above problem by measuring the end-effector positions with respect to several different coordinate system using the same measurement devices. It is found that the proposed method leads the improvements of robot position accuracy over the large space of working volume. The experimental studies are performed to show the validity of the method and their results are discussed.

  • The traditional market has formed for itself through a long time thus has special value of the place. The tangible value of the traditional market is high, however, it became jeopardized to be dismantled since it can not cope with the consumption environment of modern society. Modern industrial society provides an inefficiently and standardized solution to the traditional market by ignoring the identity of place only by the value the traditional market in the law of large distribution industry. This study aims to define the placeness of Namdaemun traditional market by considering tangible value of place. The identity of the place was analyzed as a spatial configuration, space organization, and sense of place through the place's physical setting, activities, and meanings by Edward Ralph. Based on the analysis by Ralph, we analyzed the traditional market and compare to the department store, which is the representative of large scale distributor, using comparative method. We performed quantitative and integrative analysis for the placeness and provide a way to appraise the worth of the traditional market by deviating from the traditional evaluation method.
