  • In this paper, we obtain an explicit formula of the Laplace transform of the forward recurrence time at finite time t > 0 in an alternating renewal process, by adopting a Markovian approach. As a consequence, we obtain the first two moments of the forward recurrence time.

  • This note discusses the inter-loss time ofan M/G/1/1 queuing system. The inter-loss time is defined as the time duration between two consecutive losses of arriving customers. In this study, we present the explicit Laplace transform of the inter-loss time distribution of an M/G/1/1 queuing system.

  • In this study, by using Laplace and normal Laplace operators, we give some characterizations for the Darboux instantaneous rotation vector field of the curves in the Euclidean 3-space $E^3$. Further, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for unit speed space curves to have 1-type Darboux vectors. Moreover, we obtain some characterizations of helices according to Darboux vector.

  • By using the fixed point index theory, we investigate the existence of at least two positive solutions for p-Laplace equation with sign-changing nonlinear terms $(\varphi_p(u'))'+a(t)f(t,u(t),u'(t))=0$, subject to some boundary conditions. As an application, we also give an example to illustrate our results.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with the analysis of the waiting time distribution in the M/M/m retrial queue. We give expressions for the Laplace-Stieltjes transform (LST) of the waiting time distribution and then provide a numerical algorithm for calculating the LST of the waiting time distribution. Numerical inversion of the LSTs is used to calculate the waiting time distribution. Numerical results are presented to illustrate our results.

  • Curved beams' dynamic behavior on viscoelastic foundation is the subject of the current paper. By rewritten the Timoshenko beams theory formulation for the curved and twisted spatial rods, governing equations are obtained for the circular beams on viscoelastic foundation. Using the complementary functions method (CFM), in Laplace domain, an ordinary differential equation is solved and then those results are transformed to real space by Durbin's algorithm. Verification of the proposed method is illustrated by solving an example by variating foundation parameters.

  • A time fractional advection-dispersion equation is Obtained from the standard advection-dispersion equation by replacing the firstorder derivative in time by a fractional derivative in time of order ${\alpha}$(0 < ${\alpha}$ $\leq$ 1). Using variable transformation, Mellin and Laplace transforms, and properties of H-functions, we derive the complete solution of this time fractional advection-dispersion equation.

  • We aim at presenting an interesting result for a reducibility of Exton's triple hypergeometric series $X_2$. The identity to be given here is obtained by combining Exton's Laplace integral representation for $X_2$ and Henrici's formula for the product of three hypergeometric series.

  • In this paper, our central focus is upon gamma and beta q-distributions from a probabilistic viewpoint. The gamma and the beta q-distributions are characterized by investing the nature of the joint q-probability density function through the q-independence property and the q-Laplace transform.
