Objectives: To examine whether the nursing practice environment at the hospital-level affects the job satisfaction and turnover intention of hospital nurses. Methods: Among the 11 731 nurses who participated in the Korea Health and Medical Workers' Union's educational program, 5654 responded to our survey. Data from 3096 nurses working in 185 general inpatient wards at 60 hospitals were analyzed using multilevel logistic regression modeling. Results: Having a standardized nursing process (odds ratio [OR], 4.21; p<0.001), adequate nurse staffing (OR, 4.21; p<0.01), and good doctor-nurse relationship (OR, 4.15; p<0.01), which are hospital-level variables based on the Korean General Inpatients Unit Nursing Work Index (KGU-NWI), were significantly related to nurses' job satisfaction. However, no hospital-level variable from the KGU-NWI was significantly related to nurses' turnover intention. Conclusions: Favorable nursing practice environments are associated with job satisfaction among nurses. In particular, having a standardized nursing process, adequate nurse staffing, and good doctor-nurse relationship were found to positively influence nurses' job satisfaction. However, the nursing practice environment was not related to nurses' turnover intention.
Purpose ESG(Environment Social Governance) activities of IT companies are very important for organizational development in that they can motivate employees to engage in job crafting by giving them a sense of purpose and meaning. There have been many studies on the positive impact of company ESG(Environment Social Governance) activities on financial performance, but unlike the existing financial performance approach, this study suggested that IT companies ESG activities can affect job crafting and job satisfaction of employee, using non-financial organizational variables. Design/methodology/approach This study, based on the related theoretical background, showed the relationship between ESG, job crafting, and job satisfaction, and it was proposed as a research model. A measurement model was constructed, and it was estimated and evaluated with LISREL 9.30, using data from IT companies employees, and it showed satisfactory data-fit of proposed model. The empirical results indicated that ESG(Environment Social Governance) take effect on job crafting, and job crafting take effect on job satisfaction. Findings This study provided several important implications in relation to the ESG(Environment Social Governance) that contribute to job crafting and job satisfaction for IT companies employees. It was confirmed that job crafting variable is a effective mediator linking ESG(Environment Social Governance) and job satisfaction.
This study analyzed the factors related to the stress which the top-rated chefs in Jeju suffer and conducted the multiple regression analysis to look into the effect of job-related stress on the stress reaction and the satisfaction with job, in order to examine the effect of job-related stress faced by hotel kitchen employees in performing duties and determine the effect of job-related stress on the reaction of individuals in the peculiar environment of a kitchen in a hotel. Job-related stresses were classified into five factors which were physical, individual, vocational, organizational, and social. The result of regression analysis, which was performed to figure out the effect of job-related stress on the stress reaction and the satisfaction with the job, indicated that the physical factor of job-related stress had the greatest effect on the physiological reaction, followed by the organizational factor, individual factor, and social factor, while the organizational factor of job-related stress had the greatest effect on the psychological reaction, followed by the individual factor, social factor, vocational factor, and physical factor. Meanwhile, the vocational factor of job-related stress had the greatest effect on behavioral re-action, followed by organizational factor and individual factor. The vocational factor of job-related stress had the greatest effect on the satisfaction with the job, followed by individual factor, organizational factor, social factor, and physical factor.

Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the current status of the association of job-related information such as employment status, workplace environment, and hazard material exposures with health examination outcomes. Methods: The study used data from KNHANES 2007-2009 representing the three years of 2007-2009, which was conducted annually using a rolling sampling design that involved a complex, stratified, multistage, probability-cluster survey of a representative sample of the non-institutionalized civilian population in Korea. The final analytical sample consisted of 17,240 participants. Information on age, education, smoking history and alcohol intake was collected during the health interview. Job related information consisted of employment status, workplace environment, and hazardous material exposure. The selected indices of health examination were blood pressure, fasting glucose, blood cholesterol, HDL, SGOT, SGPT, and BUN. Results: In multiple logistic regression analysis using hypertension and pre-hypertension as dependent variables and job related categories as independent variables after covariate adjustments, the odds of hypertension and pre-hypertension were significantly lower in those with responsibility and power in their job activities. Interestingly, low odds for hypertension were observed among those who reported that their jobs were fast-paced. Conclusions: This study confirmed that some job-related categories in employment status, workplace environment, and hazardous material exposure had an association with health outcome status. It is worthwhile to comment that high responsibility and power in job activities were revealed as one of the important favorable factors to improve health condition of workers.
The purpose of this study is to define the relationships among the emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention of beauty industry workers. The data for this study were collected through a survey, and a total of 197 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. The survey items were classified into 4 domains: demographic characteristics, emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. This study extracted factors that compose each measurement domain to define the impact of emotional labor on job satisfaction or turnover intention. According to the research results, 3 factors - positive norm, sincere behavior, and emotional incongruity - were extracted for emotional labor. Individual aptitude satisfaction and work environment satisfaction were extracted as the factors for job satisfaction, whereas a single factor was extracted for turnover intention. By analyzing the effect of factors related to the emotional labor of beauty in dustry workers on factors related to job satisfaction, results showed that positive norm positively influenced individual aptitude satisfaction, sincere behavior positively influenced individual aptitude satisfaction and work environment satisfaction, and emotional incongruity negatively influenced individual aptitude satisfaction. Among factors related to emotional labor, positive norm and sincere behavior negatively affected turnover intention, whereas emotional incongruity positively influenced turnover intention. With regard to the effect of job satisfaction on the turnover intention of beauty industry workers, results showed that individual aptitude satisfaction and job environment satisfaction negatively (-) affected turnover intention. The results of this study show that people presenting a high level of individual aptitude satisfaction displayed positive job satisfaction, whereas people showing serious emotional incongruity for work presented high turnover intention. This implies that in order to increase the work efficiency of beauty businesses, it is essential to examine and manage the emotional labor of workers as a measure for increasing job satisfaction and lowering turnover.
Today, businesses are under rapidly changing environments that are characterized as stopless competition and uncertainty. Under this circumstance, workers are exposed to much stress that is induced by factors such as lots of job burden, responsibility, role conflicts, role ambiguity, interpersonal conflicts, pressure related to job performance and lots of job-related requests. Unlike workers of other industries, those of distribution business may be more exposed to stress because they serve in unique work conditions. Therefore, distribution workers have an accumulate fatigue of their own, suffering from health problems that are stress-induced. Distribution businesses should positively try to identify factors that fall their workers into stress, making those workers less stressful and preventing their negative job performance. Efforts to reduce workers' stress can not only improve their physical and mental health, but also raise business competitiveness. Thus the purpose of this study is to investigate how much distribution workers' job role, interpersonal relations and job environment are influential to their job stress and thereon determine relations between job stress and job performance.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare and analyze the job stress of nurses with and without in COVID-19-related work. Methods: A structured self-reported questionnaire survey was conducted to assess job stress. The extent of job stress was compared between nurses with COVID-19 (COVID-19 group) and those without such experience (non-COVID-19 group). Multiple regression analysis was performed to identify the factors influencing job stress. Results: Job stress was higher in the COVID-19 group compared to the non-COVID-19 group (t=2.54, p=.12). In sub-categorical comparison, stress driven by a taxing work environment, relationship conflict, and work schedule was higher in the COVID-19 group than the non-COVID-19 group. Multiple regression analysis revealed the job stress was higher among nurses with COVID-19-related work experience than that of non-experienced nurses. The factors affecting job stress of nurses with COVID-19-related work experience included emergency room work, providing nursing assistant for COVID-patients, and caring for these patients. Conclusion: Since COVID-19-related work experience is a major factor that affects nurses' job stress, it is imperative to provide various support measures for nursing assistants such as providing a break from working in an environment with high risk of infection, adjusting work schedules, resolving conflicts between personnel, and securing support.
Purpose: This cross-sectional descriptive study was to explore the relationship among practice environment, organizational justice, and job satisfaction of male nurses. Methods: Subjects were 115 male nurses who were the member of the Korean man nurses association, and they were asked to complete self-administration questionnaires via internet site for this survey which included nurse's practice environment, organizational justice, and job satisfaction. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN version 21.0 software. Results: The mean scores of the nurse's practice environment, organizational justice, and job satisfaction were 2.9, 3.0, 3.1 out of 5 Likert scale respectively. The job satisfaction was positively correlated with the nurse's practice environment (r=.70, p<.001) and organizational justice (r=.78, p<.001). The job satisfaction was affected by procedure-related justice, interpersonal justice, adequacy of staffing and resources in nursing work environment, compensation justice, and good healthy status. These variables explained 68.6% of male nurse's job satisfaction. Conclusion: This finding suggest that suitable organization management for male nurses are necessary through improvement of practice environment and organizational justice in hospital.
Job stresses are realized as harmful factors affected workers' mental health. Job stresses can be defined as the physical and emotional responses that are occurred when the job requirements should be beyond the workers' abilities, followed with health problems and even work-related injuries. Job stresses could be resulted from the work environment and conditions related with workers' personality. This study is conducted to evaluate the job stresses for managers in the construction industry, by the questionaires which collected 302(75.5%) among 400 ones. The evaluation items are the levels of job stresses and stressors as well as the relationship between the variables. The controls should be recommended for physical and mental health.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of nursing work environment and job stress on health problems of hospital nurses. Methods: The subjects were 200 nurses working in S general hospital in Gyeongnam, and the data were collected using organized questionnaire from Jan 10 to 25, 2015. The Korean version of the practice environment scale of nursing work index, the instrument for job stress, and the Korean version of Todie Health Index for health problem were used for measurement. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. Results: The nursing work environment was found to be slightly negative, and the job stress was found to be high. There were significant correlation among nursing work environment, job stress, and health problems. In addition, it showed that the nursing work environment and job stress of nurses were factors affecting their health problems. Conclusion: The nursing work environment and job stress are influencing factors on the health problems of hospital nurses. Multi-faceted efforts to create a positive nursing work environment are required. Further researches related to association between the nursing work environment and health problem of nurses are needed.
