  • Countries around the world are propelling policies and strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of their own ports as they recognize the roles and importance of the ports in the international trade and logistics. The main objective of this study is to compare efficiencies of major container ports and analyze the factors that affect the efficiencies in the three regions of East Asia, Europe, and North America, which cover most of world container shipping. We employ DEA models in analyzing the efficiencies of 45 container ports using 5 input and 2 output variables. We also carry out regression analyses to estimate the impacts of each factor on the throughput (TEU), overall technical efficiency (OTE), pure technical efficiency (PTE), and scale efficiency (SE). The analysis results show that East Asian ports, despite being smaller in average size, make greater output and achieve higher technical and scale efficiencies than European or North American ports.

  • The human resource management is a very important thing to an airline call center. It may lead the call center to success or fail. The call center managers have to make appropriate decisions how many persons are inputted into the operation for each unit time and all day. In this study, a method is suggested to get an optimal staffing for each unit time using Integer Programming. The Integer Programming model can be used to solve the efficiency problem of the call center's staffing and scheduling. And call certer manager can adopt this model into the operations of the call center without any difficulties or modifications.

  • With the recent expansion of Internet channels and the development of financial technology and information and communication technology, direct overseas purchases have expanded. Although direct overseas purchases dominate consumers in terms of price and scarcity by providing relatively low-priced products and products that are difficult to obtain in Korea, there is a higher chance of consumer dissatisfaction in terms of delivery, product, A/S and refund than domestic purchases. Therefore, this study analyzed consumer dissatisfaction caused by active overseas direct purchase and studied ways to improve problems with overseas direct purchase. As a research method, Several statistical data were collected from the Korea Consumer Agency(KCA), the Korea Customs Service(KCS) and the Korea International Trade Association(KITA) and analyzed using the Exploratory Data Analysis Technique (EDA). The analysis confirmed that consumers were not well aware of information about direct overseas purchases and that the type or degree of consumer complaints varied depending on the type of purchase. Therefore, this study suggests a direction for the revitalization of overseas direct purchases by using EDA to identify the overall status of overseas direct purchases and consumer dissatisfaction and to improve them.

In the analysis results of Japan corporation as Doraya, Deicoko, Shinise longevity, we can explain about critical factors like that credit, tradition, customization, products development, changes of management methods and finding a global new markets. Also, In this study, analyzed a significance of critical factors for focusing on each cases and theories using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP), and did prediction and analysis about critical longevity factors. However, it need to collect sufficient data and a lots of variables for input. because the sample may be it insufficient. Results of the study, will be expected to be a useful guide for analysis of longevity factors at the company in the future.

To express the modern economic system, the largest of the various economic indicators, pillars stock indicators analysis and decision-making with a proper understanding of the problem for the application of the model is suitable for time-series data concealment HMM. Based on this time series model and the calculation of the time and cost savings dimension decrease techniques for the estimation and prediction of the model was applied to the problem was to verify the validity. As a result, the model predictions in both the short term rather than long-term predictions of the model estimates the optimal predictive value similar pattern very similar to both the actual data and was able to confirm that.

  • This study examined the factors affecting the intention to use the wearable device consumers and the factors that have positive effects on the intention to use the wearable device or the consumers who have not yet used the wearable device. The purpose of this study was to examine the perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness, consumer individuality (individual innovation, self-efficacy, subjective norm) and wearable device characteristics (aesthetics, compatibility) of technology acceptance model (TAM). The results of the analysis are as follows. This study focused on the effect of consumers on the intention to use. (TPB) and Davis (1989) proposed technology acceptance model which is applied to various fields to predict the intention to use as it is proved validity and usefulness as a theory explaining various social behaviors. TAM) in order to examine the intention to use. In addition, we added consumer characteristics and variables related to product characteristics of wearable devices, which have not been studied much in previous studies.

  • This study focuses on the current state of Smart Grid policy in Japan and its problems while the interest in Smart Grid has been increasing since the March 2011 earthquake in East Japan. As a result of the analysis, Japan introduced the fixed price buying system of new and renewable energy in response to the power supply and demand problem caused by the 2011 earthquake in East Japan, and established a decentralized green electricity trading market in which electricity generated from new and renewable energy is traded Smart Grid-related projects were implemented as a solution to solve energy crisis and environmental problems at the same time. As a result, we achieved visible results such as suppressing peak power, reducing CO2 emissions, and securing stable supply and demand of energy using renewable energy sources. On the other hand, the improvement of current Smart Grid policy operation in Japan and the introduction of stabilization system of power system, promotion of international standards of domestic technology related to smart grid, and support for strengthening security of smart grid.
