송전용 36,000 lbs 자기애자의 수명 예측 연구 (A Study of Life Prediction Assessment of T/L 36,000 Ibs Porcelain Insulators)

  • 36,000lbs porcelain insulators of D-1995, D-1997 and D-2002 investigated mechanical and electrical qualities, where is process of using in the Korea 154 kV transmission lines. It analyzes the cause of the elapse of a year aging of the transmission insulators. Weibull distribution function, product quality and uniform quality, etc. investigated for prediction to extant life of insulator. It calculate change as statistical elapse of a year through product qualities of used insulator and new insulator, uniform equality and uniformity of insulator. In case of D-1995 year used insulator, it decided to badness decline index k by 0.0237, badness quality index by 1.0 and 3.0. Result of extant confidence life Ym was calculated that remain each 4 yens and 0.7 yens that uniformity index is considered. Extant life of D-1997 and D-2002 insulators Predicted by about 40 years.

Evaluation of Microstructure, Phases, and Mechanical Properties of Aged Porcelain Insulator

  • The microstructure, phase, and mechanical properties of three aged porcelain insulators which were manufactured in different years (1973, 1995 and 2008) and which were used in the field for different amounts of time, were investigated. With X-ray 3D computed tomography (CT), defects with ~mm size can be detected without destroying the aged insulators. Defects of small specimens, which are cut from the aged insulators and polished, are analyzed with optical and scanning electron microscopy (OM and SEM), and defects of um size are detected by OM and SEM. The number and size of defects in all the aged insulators are similar. Porcelain insulators manufactured in 1973 contain more $SiO_2$ (quartz and cristobalite) than those manufactured in 2008. Those manufactured in 2008 contain more $Al_2O_3$ than those manufactured earlier. The Vickers hardness of the insulator manufactured in 1973 has the lowest value. The formation of the cristobalite ($SiO_2$) in the insulator manufactured in 1973 which can come from the phase transformation of quartz can cause stress in the insulator by formation of microcracks, which can lead to the low hardness of the insulator.

Kaolin 오손물 누적량 모의실험 및 누설전류변화 특성 (A Simulation for Kaolin Contaminants Accumulation and Varying Characteristics of Leakage Currents)

  • This study performs a simulation for an accumulation mechanism of contaminants, which were produced in an industrial belt of inland, on the surface of insulators. From the simulation, silicon insulators presented higher accumulation than that of EPDM(Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer : EPDM) insulators on the same distance in the case of the Virgin polymer insulator, and this result presented the same result in the insulator applied in actual fields. In the case of the accumulation test for the Virgin insulator and insulators used in actual fields, it is evident that the Virgin insulator presented more accumulation than that of the insulator used in actual fields. The results can be caused by the generation of LMW (Low Molecular Weight) on the external material of polymer insulators, and the level of the accumulation can be changed according to the degree of the continuous generation of LMW. In order to simulate a certain pollution of an industrial belt, which is located along the coastline, leakage currents were measured by applying the contaminant compulsively that was produced with salts and Kaolin according to the ratio of its weight on the surface of insulators. The more increase in the content of Kaolin pollution, the level of leakage currents on the surface of polymer insulator more increased. In addition, the approaching time to the maximum value of leakage currents presented a nearly constant level regardless of the content of Kaolin. The level of leakage currents significantly decreased according to the passage of time, and the level of leakage currents on the surface maintained a constant level at a specific time regardless of the content of Kaolin.

자기재/폴리머 계면이 하이브리드 애자의 미세구조, 절연특성과 전계분포에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Porcelain/Polymer Interface on the Microstructure, Insulation Characteristics and Electrical Field Distribution of Hybrid Insulators)

  • Hybrid insulators that have the advantages of both porcelain (high mechanical strength and chemical stability) as well as polymer (light weight and high resistance to pollution) insulators, can be used in place of individual porcelain and polymer insulators that are used for both mechanical support as well as electrical insulation of overhead power transmission lines. The most significant feature of hybrid insulators is the presence of porcelain/polymer interfaces where the porcelain and polymer are physically bonded. Individual porcelain and polymer insulators do not have such porcelain/polymer interfaces. Although the interface is expected to affect the mechanical/electrical properties of the hybrid insulator, systematic studies of the adhesion properties at the porcelain/polymer interface and the effect of the interface on the insulation characteristics and electric field distribution of the hybrid insulator have not been reported. In this study, we fabricated small hybrid insulator specimens with various types of interfaces and investigated the effect of the porcelain/polymer interface on the microstructure, insulating characteristics, and electric field distribution of the hybrid insulators. It was observed that the porcelain/polymer interface of the hybrid insulator does not have a significant effect on the insulating characteristics and electric field distribution, and the hybrid insulator can exhibit electrical insulating properties that are similar or superior to those of individual porcelain and polymer insulators.

친환경적인 컴팩트 송전탑용 폴리머 절연암의 성능평가에 관한 연구 (The performance evaluation of the polymer arm insulator for a compact transmission line tower)

  • 최근 고압송전선 시설에 대한 경과지 확보가 점점 어려워짐에 따라 환경 친화적인 콤팩트한 송전탑 설계가 요구되어 지고 있다. 콤팩트한 송전탑용 절연재료로서 폴리머에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 특히 철탑암의 재료로서 폴리머 재질이 몇몇 선진국에서 적용되어 좋은 결과를 얻고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 송전용 철탑암에 대한 폴리머 재질의 적용은 미흡한 실정이었는데, 이제는 폴리머에 대한 고강도, 고기능화 기술이 개발되고 있으므로, 이를 송전용 철탑암에 적용하게 되면 급격한 전력수요의 증가에 따른 송전공급의 증대에 민첩하게 대응할 수 있는 방안으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 송전탑용 폴리머 절연암을 설계하고, 그것의 전기적 특성을 해석하고, 기존 철탑에 적용한 콤팩트 송전탑을 설계하여 기계적 안정성을 시험하였다.

지지애자의 표면오염 모니터링 기술 및 장치 (Monitoring Technique and Device of Surface Contamination for Line-Post Insulator)

  • Line to ground faults by deterioration of insulators has frequently occurred in power system, and the main cause is surface contamination of the insulators. The contamination of insulator is analyzed by monitoring the surface leakage current flowing them. The suspension insulator is monitored by installation of a zero-phase current sensor(ZCT), but the line-post insulator is impossible to apply the same method because of its large diameter structure. This paper proposed a detection method of surface leakage current for a line-post insulator, and it can easily be applied to new and/or built insulators. The leakage current is indirectly calculated from the potential difference between the metal electrode attached on the surface of insulator and the ground connector. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, the leakage current is compared as a function of contamination condition controlled by the density of NaCl solution. The leakage current is proportioned to the density of NaCl solution, and the voltage detected by the electrode showed the same trend. From the experimental results, we designed and fabricated a monitoring device which is composed of a detection electrode, signal converter, microprocessor, and ZigBee, and its measurement range is $10{\mu}A{\sim}5mA$.

단열층 사용을 통한 성층 축열조 성능개선 (Performance Improvement of Stratified Thermal Storage Tank Using Heat Insulator)

  • 본 연구에서는 지역난방 공사에서 사용하고 있는 성층 축열조의 불가용 에너지를 줄이기 위해 단열층을 설계하였다. 단열층은 추가적인 장치 없이 고온수와 저온수의 밀도차이로 생기는 부력으로 운용된다. 축열조의 내부 온도분포를 모사할 수 있는 해석모델을 Matlab Simulink 를 이용하여 제작하고 해석 결과를 이용하여 단열층의 소재와 두께를 결정하였다. 또한 축열조의 축소실험을 통하여 단열층의 운용 가능성을 확인하였다. 실험 결과, 단열층이 축열 방열과정에서 고온수와 저온수의 혼합과 열전도로 인한 온도 경계층형성을 효과적으로 억제할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 단열층을 설치한 축소실험에서는 단열층이 없는 축열조보다 약 1540 J 의 추가 가용에너지가 보존되었고 이를 실제 축열조에 적용할 경우 약 6%의 축열효율이 증가될 것으로 예상된다.

방음재를 삽입한 합성슬래브의 수평전단성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Longitudinal Shear Capacity of Composite Slab Embedded with Silence Insulator)

  • 본 연구는 방음재를 삽입한 새로운 개념의 합성슬래브 시스템을 제안하고, T-형 바의 폭, 전단보강 철근의 설치 등을 실험의 주요변수로 한 총 7개의 실험체를 제작 Push-Down실험방법으로 수행한 수평전단성능에 대한 실험 결과를 제공하고 있다. 실험결과 T-형 바를 전단키로 적용하고 방음재를 삽입한 실험체가 기본실험체에 비해 수평전단성능에서 2배 이상 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 제안한 합성슬래브상세를 실제 현장 적용하여도 기존의 합성슬래브 보다 구조적 측면에서 상당한 안전율을 확보할 것으로 생각되며, 내진동 및 방차음의 개선에도 크게 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

산불영향에 따른 송전용 폴리머애자의 특성 (The Influence of Forest Fire on the Characteristics of Polymer Insulator for Transmission Lines)

  • Big fire such as mountain fire may cause the prevention of the functions of the overhead cables and insulators, which may affect the operation of the transmission lines. In the worst case, this kind of disaster may have a huge effect on the whole industry of a country. However, the study on the effect of the mountain fire on the transmission line is very rare. Therefore, in order to understand the effect of the mountain fire on the polymeric insulator for transmission lines, the author observed the deformation of the sheds of the polymeric insulators and the change of the discs of the porcelain insulators under fire, varying the ignition time using the artificial ignition testing equipment which simulates the mountain fire, and investigated the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the insulators after the ignition test. For the test, the miniature insulators made of polymeric material and porcelain have been utilized. As the result, the following conclusions were obtained. First, the porcelain insulator was degraded in electrical characteristics when the insulator was subjected to the fire for approximately 5 minutes; whereas, the polymeric insulator was not degraded though there were some damage on its sheds. Second, after 20 minute exposure to the fire, the polymeric insulator lost a lot of parts of sheds, but the electrical characteristics was lowered by around $20\%$, but the porcelain insulators were electrically degraded by more than $80\%$.

  • 전원위상이 다른 전차선 구간을 전기적으로 구분하기 위한 절연구분장치 중에서 특히, 지하구간에 설치된 교/직 절연구분장치는 강체가선 및 조가선 가선이 혼합된 특수한 가선구조로 되어 있어, 전동차 팬터그래프와 습동하는 절연재에 불규칙한 파상마모 현상이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는, 이와 같은 절연구분장치 절연재의 마모현상에 대하여, 현장 측정을 통하여 마모정도 및 마모형태를 조사하고, 전기철도 운행 및 유지보수에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그리고. 절연재 이상마모에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인으로서, 절연구분장치의 설치높이 편차와 팬터그래프 압상력에 대응한 절연구분장치의 변위에 대한 실험적 분석을 수행하였고, 절연구분장치와 팬터그래프간에 작용하는 접촉력에 대한 이론적 분석을 통하여 그 발생원인을 규명하였다. 이와 같은 실험적, 이론적 분석을 토대로, 효과적인 절연구분장치 개량방법을 제시하였다.
