The Role of Innovative Work Behavior in Management of Public Transportation in Indonesia

  • This study examines the low performance of state civil servants related (ASN) to the management of public transportation at the Directorate of Road Transport (DRT), Ministry of Transportation, Indonesia. This study surveyed 103 ASNs, using a quantitative approach using the Amos SEM software. The results showed that Knowledge Sharing (KS) and Work Engagement (WE) directly influenced Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) as well as Job Performance (JP). Meanwhile, IWB had a significant, direct effect on JP and acts as a full mediator in the effect of KS and WE on JP. The descriptive data obtained also showed that respondents' statements based on gender have differences related to the IWB variable, where on average, women were better than men. However, for other variables (JP, KS, and WE), the data showed that, on average, the statements of male respondents were better than women. This study recommends that the DRT pay attention to IWB as a key factor mediating KS and WE towards increasing JP by maintaining the best indicators and improving the weakest indicators. Furthermore, this study recommends that future research refine these results by adding the variables of gender and educational level of the respondents.

A Study on the Authentic Leadership Influencing on Innovative Behavior: Focusing on Mediating Effect of Employee's Silence (진성리더십이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 구성원 침묵의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • It is believed that there will be changes in the behavior of members according to the characteristics of the organization's leader. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that induce changes in the behavior of employees of the organization through empirical research. In order to accomplish the research aims, we developed and verify the research model using authentic leadership as an independent variable and the innovative behavior as a criterion variable. In addition, by using the silent phenomenon of the members as a mediating variable, we also tried to find out how it affects the behavior of the employees. Empirical results of the study showed that authentic leadership as an independent variable had a direct influence on the innovation behavior of employees, and the mediating effect of silence also had a partial mediating effect. These findings suggest that leadership and Silence factors which are internal motivational factors leading to behavior of employees are affected innovative behavior. There are some expectations as follow. Based on this study, it would be an important issue that the study on the necessity of silence management of employees through research on the causes of silence felt by members of the organization and the influence.

Impact of Supervisor's Humor on Civil Servant's Innovative Work Behavior (상사유머가 공무원의 혁신적 업무행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The study aims to positively analyze the impact of superiors' humor perceived by staff on the latter's innovative work behaviors among all other factors determining an individual's inclination to innovation. The summary of the results is as follows. First, senior superiors' humor is closely related to innovative work behaviors, which is also statistically significant. Second, superiors' affects job commitment to a significant extent. Third, job commitment produces such effects of an mediating variable in the relationship between superiors' and innovative work behaviors on the part of their staff. The results present an empirical lesson that a superiors plays a great role in the process of innovation in the public sector. Therefore, this study concludes that it is necessary to systemize education and training system for superiors in terms of management of a public organization. Empirical studies of innovative behaviors of superiors are likely to contribute to developing the theories of organizational behaviors.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine how a superior employee's ethical leadership affects members' innovative behaviors, mainly on organization-based self-esteem. It also aimed to verify the mediating effect of organization-based self-esteem in the process that ethical leadership affects members' innovative behavior in distribution-related organizations. Research design, data and methodology: After collecting materials from companies' executives and staff members in distribution-related organizations located in Seoul, South Korea, a research hypothesis was analyzed. Results: A superior employee's ethical leadership affects a positive (+) effect on innovative behaviors of the organization's members and the study confirmed that the relation of this effect was mediated by organization-based self-esteem. It means that the possibility that an organization's members will do innovative behaviors will be increased if a leader conducts ethical leadership. It also means that a leader with ethical leadership enables an organization's members to pay attention all the time and be awake for their work environment. Conclusions: The result of this study discusses how ethical leadership affects innovative behaviors of an organization's members from the perspective of organization-based self-esteem and has a theoretical implication that it has empirically examined it. More importantly, it has a theoretical implication because it verified how this effect was made using organization-based selfesteem and flexible human resource management.

  • In order to find the factors that influence behaviors for innovative work performance, this study tried to examine the relationship between organizational justice perceived by SME employees and IT support for differentiation on innovative behavior through knowledge exploitation and exploration. A survey was conducted on employees of SME, and the research hypothesis was verified using SPSS 22.0 and PLS 3.0 by analyzing the final 239 copies. As a result of the study, organizational justice and IT support showed a positive effect on knowledge exploitation and exploration, and knowledge exploitation and exploration had a positive effect on innovation behavior. Through this study, the theoretical foundation for organizational justice to influence knowledge exploitation and main search was established and the theoretical and practical implications for enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprise were presented through a comprehensive analysis of the two variables, organizational justice and IT support, which affect the innovation behavior of SMEs. Future research will require to study the performance part due to innovative behavior using various variables.

  • Under fastly moving businese circumstance, it is very important to retain par excellence human resource and innovation. The purpose of this study is to find out casual relationship among self-efficacy, job embeddedness, innovative behavior, and organizational citizenship behavior, which is dependent variable. With the help of information technology. To verify hypotheses such statistical analyses as factor analysis, reliability test, and path analysis by AMOS 18.0. The population of this study is employees of super deluxe hotels in korea and they are divided into two categories such as front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house respectively with same numbers. In case of mutual relationship between self-efficacy and innovative behavior, self-control and task difficultness factors significantly influence innovative behavior in case of front-of-the house employees and vice-versa in those of back-of-the-house. In case of interactive relationship between self-efficacy and organizational citizenship behavior, slightly different results are revealed between front-and back-of-the-house employees, employees, i.e. all factors are significantly related in former but not in latter.

The Effects of the Emotional Leadership Perceived by Hotel Cuisine Employees on Empowerment, Trust and Innovative Behavior (호텔 조리종사원이 인지한 감성리더십이 임파워먼트, 신뢰 및 혁신행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to empirically analyze the influence of emotional leadership of hotel cuisine employees on empowerment, trust and innovative behavior. Selecting cooks working for ten five-star hotels in Seoul for empirical analysis, total 500 copies of questionnaire (50 copies to each hotel) were distributed for 30 days from September $23^{rd}$ to October $22^{nd}$, 2013. Excluding the ones with missing values or too much weighted tendency, total 426 copies(85.2%) were used as the final data for statistical analysis. As a result of the analysis, the verification of causal relationships between hotel cuisine employees' perceived emotional leadership and empowerment, trust and innovative behavior within organizations is valuable enough to be used as the theoretical foundation in the future. Based on the results of such in-depth analysis, hotel cuisine employees' perceived emotional leadership can be shown through interactions between leaders and employees. The effectiveness of leadership can be maximized only when leaders and employees maintain the mutual cooperative partnership to lead employees' innovative behavior by implanting empowerment and trust in employees.

A Study on the Effect of Smartwork Environment on Office Administrators' Organizational Effectiveness: Moderated by Concerns and Work-Life Balance (스마트워크 환경이 비서직종사자의 조직유효성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 관심사와 일-생활 균형의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • At present, the importance of organizational effectiveness is highlighted even more as business environment enters into a new type of work setting, the smartwork environment. This new type of work environment could be significantly influential in promoting organizational effectiveness of office administrators who carry out atypical types of tasks in general and are exposed to emotional labor excessively. Organizational effectiveness of office administrators could also be controlled by their concerns at work, their personal values and the increasing demand for work-life balance. The main purpose of this research is to investigate how smartwork environment perceived by office administrators is related with organizational effectiveness. In addition, this research places the focus on how concerns and work-life balance moderate the relationship between smartwork environment and organizational effectiveness. The survey was conducted among 102 office administrators, and data were analyzed by moderated multiple regression analysis method. Job autonomy of smartwork environment showed positive effect on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and innovative behavior. IT dependence of smartwork environment showed negative effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment and positive effect innovative behavior. It was found that concerns with impact positively moderate the effects of job autonomy on job satisfaction and innovative behavior; concerns with self negatively moderate the effects of job autonomy on organizational commitment and innovative behavior. Also, it was found that work-life balance moderates the effects of job autonomy on organizational commitment and the effects of IT dependence on innovative behavior. The result of this research can be taken into consideration when a strategic human resource development plan is prepared for office administrators in smartwork environment.

  • We meet many difficult challenges from many factors such as crime, natural disasters, social unrest, financial problems, employment, and so on. It therefore essential to cope with these negative stressful events to attain a state of personal well-being. Lately in the field of psychology and psychiatry, a concept called 'resilience' has received increasing attention. Resilience embodies the personal qualities that enable one to thrive in the face of adversity. Also it refers to the process of overcoming the negative effect of risk exposure, coping successfully with adversity, and avoiding the negative trajectories associated with risks. Resilience people were expected to do their innovative work behavior well. And SUS(supervisor support), COS(coworker support), OEMC(organizational error management culture) influence the relationship of resilience between Innovative Behavior. This study focused on three question. First, how is resilience relate to individual performance in the organization? And second, are there any moderate factors between resilience and individual performance. As the result of the hierarchical regression analysis, resilience indicates positive effects on IB and IB was predicted by interaction of resilience by SUS and OEMC. Findings in this study indicated that the level of SUS and OEMC should be considered in interpreting the resilience and Innovative Behavior.

  • In this study, we tried to demonstrate the influence of leader's coaching and LMX on the member's innovation vibrator and to provide implications. This study reviewed the reader's coaching, LMX, the theories of the member's innovation behabior, resiliency, and the studies and discussions that have been carried out in the past, and finally produced five hypotheses. To verify this research theory, this study collected data from 320 automotive company researchers using VR interaction technology. The collected data were used for frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation analysis. An Empirical Analysis are confirming a result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, leader's coaching have a positive effect on resilience. Second, is have a positive effect on resilience lmx. Third, the researchers is high resilience innovative behavior to promote positive influence. Fourth, resilience leader's coaching the innovative behavior the impact on. Fifth, are lmx resilience innovative behavior the impact on. Through the conclusion and discussion section, the theoretical practical significance of this study and the limitations of the research and the direction of future research are presented.
