  • In this paper, we present a frequency reassignment problem (FRP) that arises when we add new base stations to resolve hot-spots or to expand the coverage of a code division multiple access (CDMA) network. For this problem, we develop an integer programming (IP) model along with some valid inequalities and preprocessing rules. Also, we develop an effective heuristic procedure that solves two sub-problems induced from the original problem in repetition. Computational results show that the proposed heuristic procedure finds a feasible solution of good quality within reasonable computation time. Also, the lower bound by-produced from the heuristic procedure is quite strong.

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design sliding mode observers for a class of uncertain systems. Using LIs we derive an existence condition of a sliding mode observer guaranteeing a stable sliding motion. And we give explicit formulas of the observer gain matrices. We also consider sliding mode observer design problems under an α-stability constraint or an LQ performance bound constraint. Finally, we give a numerical design example.

  • In this paper, we develop an iterative algorithm for solving a class of nonlinear mixed implicit variational inequalities in Hilbert spaces. The resolvent operator technique is used to establish the equivalence between variational inequalities and fixed point problems. This equivalence is used to study the existence of a solution of nonlinear mixed implicit variational inequalities and to suggest an iterative algorithm for solving variational inequalities. In our results, we do not assume that the mapping is strongly monotone.

  • A dual algorithm based on the smooth function proposed by Polyak (1988) is constructed for solving nonlinear programming problems with inequality constraints. It generates a sequence of points converging locally to a Kuhn-Tucker point by solving an unconstrained minimizer of a smooth potential function with a parameter. We study the relationship between eigenvalues of the Hessian of this smooth potential function and the parameter, which is useful for analyzing the effectiveness of the dual algorithm.

  • The Primal-Dual Interior-Point (PDIP) method is currently one of the fastest emerging topics in optimization. This method has become an effective solution algorithm for large scale nonlinear optimization problems. such as the electric Optimal Power Flow (OPF) and natural gas and electricity OPF. This study describes major theoretical developments of the PDIP method as well as practical issues related to implementation of the method. A simple quadratic problem with linear equality and inequality constraints

  • The problems of global and local exponential stability analysis of a class of nonlinear non-autonomous difference equations in Banach spaces are studied in this paper. By a novel comparison technique, new explicit exponential stability conditions are derived. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

  • In this paper, we proposed the problems of robust stability and 개bust H$_{\infty}$ control of discrete time-delay linear st.stems with Frobenius norm-bounded uncertainties. The existence condition and the design method of robust H$_{\infty}$ state feedback control]or are given. Through some changes of variables and Schur complement, the obtained sufficient condition can be rewritten as an LMI(linear matrix inequality) form in terms of all variables.

  • In this paper, We develop performance evaluation model for Twin fork Automated Storage/Retrieval systems. The system is modeled as a modified bulk service queueing system consisting of one exponential server with limited system capacity. The differance between this model and general bulk service queueing model is the inequality of transition service rate of each stage. The ejective of this model is to provide system characteristics for Twin fork AS/R system design problems, which are the number of customers in system, wait time in system and queue, the system queue size.

  • In this paper, we deal with the notion of a v-semi-slant submersion from an almost Hermitian manifold onto a Riemannian manifold. We investigate the integrability of distributions, the geometry of foliations, and a decomposition theorem. Given such a map with totally umbilical fibers, we have a condition for the fibers of the map to be minimal. We also obtain an inequality of a proper v-semi-slant submersion in terms of squared mean curvature, scalar curvature, and a v-semi-slant angle. Moreover, we give some examples of such maps and some open problems.

  • The present investigation is concerned with the estimation of initial coefficients, Fekete-Szegö inequality, second Hankel determinants, Zalcman functionals and third Hankel determinants for certain subclasses of Sakaguchi type functions defined with subordination in the open unit disc E = {z ∈ ℂ : |z| < 1}. The results derived in this paper will pave the way for the further study in this direction.
