  • The Hausdorff topology induced by a fuzzy metric space under more weak assumptions is investigated in this paper. Another purpose of this paper is to obtain the Banach contraction theorem in fuzzy metric space based on a natural concept of Cauchy sequence in fuzzy metric space.

  • In this paper, fuzzy metric spaces are redefined, different from the previous ones in the way that fuzzy scalars instead of fuzzy numbers or real numbers are used to define fuzzy metric. It is proved that every ordinary metric space can induce a fuzzy metric space that is complete whenever the original one does. We also prove that the fuzzy topology induced by fuzzy metric spaces defined in this paper is consistent with the given one. The results provide some foundations for the research on fuzzy optimization and pattern recognition.

  • Let M be a real hypersurface of a complex space form with constant curvature c. In this paper, we study the hypersurface M admitting Miao-Tam critical metric, i.e., the induced metric g on M satisfies the equation: $-({\Delta}_g{\lambda})g+{\nabla}^2_g{\lambda}-{\lambda}Ric=g$, where ${\lambda}$ is a smooth function on M. At first, for the case where M is Hopf, c = 0 and $c{\neq}0$ are considered respectively. For the non-Hopf case, we prove that the ruled real hypersurfaces of non-flat complex space forms do not admit Miao-Tam critical metrics. Finally, it is proved that a compact hypersurface of a complex Euclidean space admitting Miao-Tam critical metric with ${\lambda}$ > 0 or ${\lambda}$ < 0 is a sphere and a compact hypersurface of a non-flat complex space form does not exist such a critical metric.

  • In this paper, the concepts of compatible mappings of types (A) and (P) are introduced in an induced metric space, two common xed point theorems for two pairs of compatible mappings of types (A) and (P) in an induced complete metric space are established. As their applications, the existence and uniqueness results of common solution for a system of functional equations arising in dynamic programming are discussed.

  • We consider the special hypersurface of the first approximate Matsumoto metric with $b_i(x)={\partial}_ib$ being the gradient of a scalar function b(x). In this paper, we consider the hypersurface of the first approximate Matsumoto space with the same equation b(x)=constant. We are devoted to finding the condition for this hypersurface to be a hyperplane of the first or second kind. We show that this hypersurface is not a hyper-plane of third kind.

  • The shape operator or second fundamental tensor of a real hypersurface in $M_n(c)$ will be denoted by A, and the induced almost contact metric structure of the real hypersurface by (${\phi}$, <, >,${\xi}$, ${\eta}$). The purpose of this paper is to prove that is no ruled real hypersurface M in a complex space form $M_n(c)$, $c{\neq}0$, $n{\geq}3$, who satisfies $R_{\xi}{\phi}={\phi}R_{\xi}$ on M.

  • Define $\bar{g}{\upsilon, \omega) = -\upsilon_1\omega_1 + \cdots + \upsilon_n\omega_n$ for $\upsilon, \omega in R^n$. $R^n$ together with this metric is called the Lorentzian n-space, denoted by $L^n$, and $R^n$ together with the Euclidean metric is called the Euclidean n-space, denoted by $E^n$. A Lorentzian surface in $L^n$ means an orientable connected 2-dimensional Lorentzian submanifold of $L^n$ equipped with the induced Lorentzian metrix g from $\bar{g}$.

  • The main purposer of the present paper is to derive the induced (Finsler) connections on the hypersurface from the Finsler connections of Cartan type (a Wagner, Miron, Cartan C- and Cartan Y- connection) of a Finsler space and to seek the necessary and sufficient conditions that the induced connections coincide with the intrinsic connections. And we show the differences of quantities with respect to the respective a connections and an induced Cartan connection. Finally we show some examples.
