The paper describes The Narrative Communication Model of Hope Seeking Intervention developed by the authors as an approach to help clients to have individually specific hope experiences. The Model is founded upon the existential conceptualization of hope that views hope as subjective, unique experiences of meaning and processes. The Model has been developed based on the findings both in the literature and the authors' work on the nature of hope and hope experiences and integrating the concept of hope as subjective meanings and experiences, the processes of story-telling and the concept of narrative configuration as a way to engage in person-specific experiences, and person-centered communication. The results of the experiences with the application of the model in a study are used to clarify the model further. The Model incorporating story-telling and narrative construction through person-centered communication is identified in three components-the story-telling, the narrative intervention, and the communication components. These components are processed as an intervention to culminate into person-specific hope experiences in which active participation of clients as the story-teller and of interventionist as the communicative facilitator is required to produce narratives of hope with individual specific thematic plots that become the basis for hope experiences. The application of the Model has shown positive outcomes in clients with successful seeking of own hope experiences. The success of the Model application seems to depend upon interventionists' understanding of the model and the competency with the application of person-centered communication strategies.
According to statistics, drunk drivers who repeatedly violate the DUI (Driving under influence) regulation have been continuously increased, and now the habitual drunk drivers become a societal problem. Employing a confirmative factorial analysis of structural equation model to analysis psychological characteristics of habitual drunk drivers and also seek countermeasures, this study identify the difference among three different groups of drivers: 1) sober drivers, 2) drivers with a DUI violation record, and 3) drivers with more than two records. The results of this study are as follows: First, remedies and educational contents to rectify drunk drivers can be differentiated according to their drunk driving records. Second, using defense mechanism (e.g., rationalization, projection, sublimation), drunk driving psychology (such e.g., sense of guilt, shame, embarrassment) and self-esteem (e.g., affirmation, denial) as theory variables, a Structural Equation is constructed to represent Psychological Characteristics of drunk driving according to records on drunk driving. Third, as a result of analysis of the Psychological Characteristics Model, measures for prevention and reduction of drunk driving suitable for the characteristics of respective group are also suggested. Forth, drunk driving measures based on drinking individuality are complemented by concurrence analysis on records of drunk driving records and National Alcoholism Screening Test (NAST) score. Also, two or more times recorded drunk drivers are classified as inveterate drunk drivers.
What means the Waldorf school based on integrative imagination to our educational reality in our days? This is the key question in this article. This article seeks to the fundamental meaning of the Waldrof school to know our educational problems. For this purpose this article explore understanding on the theosophy of Rudolf Steiner in the insufficient research until now. The theosophy of Rudolf Steiner in this article is investigated with the understanding of Triune God, human, and educational arts. The understanding of triune God is identified as the critiques to the view point of materialism, the meaning of logos in the scripture of John, the Christ as the foundation of all creatures. The understanding of human being is distinguished as the nature of body, soul, and spirit in the theosophy. Especially the nature of spirit is to see the invisible in the visible things through the eyes of mind that means esoteric spirituality not unrealistic spirituality of monasticism but integrative spirituality of overcoming the dualism between spirit and material. The educational characteristics for the integrative spirituality and imagination is called as the educational arts by Rudolf Steiner. In the historical and cultural blocks with the most concentrated urban cultural heritage, the development of both side streets is impacted by the development of the main street, which shows a gradual decline. The loss of placeness on both side streets has resulted in more empty houses. Therefore, it is urgent to pay attention and take countermeasures to the empty houses in historical and cultural blocks. In this study, the vacant houses on Zhongshan Road in Hangzhou, China were taken as the object of study to understand the location theory and the six dimensions of Matthew Carmona's urban design. Meanwhile, it further analyzed the evaluative features of the placeness of the vacant houses in the historical and cultural street, to provide direction and basis for the flexible using of other empty houses in Zhongshan Road. Then by applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), it obtained the importance scale of each evaluative feature and compared the evaluation results of experts with the analysis results of cases, getting the results as follows: In the flexible application of vacant houses in historical and cultural street, the evaluation result of placeness indicates that this kind of usage should be in order of societal level, perceptional level, functional level, morphological level, visual hierarchy and temporal level; among the evaluative features, security, identity, usability, individuality, aesthetics, connection, diversity, openness, continuity, accessibility, order and history should be considered in turn.
Our society has had a growing interest in a family volunteering activity which has been proposed to be helpful to strengthen the health of the families. Thus this could be a new alternative strategy for motivating a family life as well as activating a volunteering activity which takes a major portion in the source for social welfare, as a precautionary measure against various social problems. This research therefore studied the effects of the family volunteering activity on the status of family health on the purpose for providing social work implications to activate family volunteering and to enhance the degree of family health. The study subjects were whole family members in Korea (n=494) who had participated in a family volunteering program more than 6 months (experimental group). The control subjects (n=534) were from family members without having an experience in a family volunteering program (control group). The results demonstrated that experimental group experiencing family volunteering activities represents significantly higher status of family health regarding all the study fields, e.g., family values in common, autonomy or flexibility for family, family commitment, communication within a family, family oriented problem-solving ability, compared with control group. Even the cases of control group which were regularly engaged in the social activities together, showed the lower status of family health, as compared with families having experiences in the family volunteering activity. Accordingly, family volunteering experiences has taken more favorable influences upon the status of family health than any other family activities. Therefore, the present study suggests as follows for activating family volunteering activities: 1) the development and management of programs suitable for the voluntary activities of a family unit; 2) the flexible application of the concept of family volunteering; 3) the necessity of connection between various institutions which perform family volunteering services; 4) flexible work system based on individuality getting ready for the time for the family volunteering activity; and 5) the development of the circumstances for family members who need to be taken care of.

This study examined the effects of parents' appearance-related parenting styles on children's adolescence and self-esteem by examining university students' appearance satisfaction. The results generated 3 different appearance-related parenting styles for fathers: indifference type (45.5%), conservative regulation type (32.0%) and appearance-pursuing type (22.5%), and three for mothers: opinion-respecting type (39.5%), conservative regulation type (32.6%) and appearance-pursuing type (27.9%). In addition, when the influence of parenting styles were compared based on children's self-esteem and their appearance satisfaction, male students' appearance satisfaction was affected more by their self-esteem than by parents' parenting styles. In comparison, female students' appearance satisfaction was influenced by parents' parenting styles. Specifically, appearance satisfaction and body satisfaction were high when the mother respected the children's opinions, and body satisfaction was rather low when the father was of appearance-pursuing. This result shows that parents need to respect their children's opinions on their appearance and guide them to find their own individuality in order to enhance the children's appearance satisfaction and self-esteem.
