  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among beginning early childhood teachers' role performance and self leadership, and childcare teachers's supports. The subjects in this study were 491 beginning early childhood teachers working in kindergartens and child care centers across the country. Childcare teachers' support questionnaire(Jae-Young Lee, 2012) role performance questionnaire(Bog-Mae Park, 2011), and self-leadership questionnaire(Dong-Hyen Park,2014) were used for this study. For the research analysis, frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient, ANOVA test, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ post-hoc analysis and Pearson's correlation were calculated and regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows. Firstly, it was revealed that there are statistically meaningful differences in beginning early childhood teachers 'role performance and self leadership, and childcare teachers's support which were related to early childhood teachers' salary, education background, and age. Also, there are statistically meaningful differences in beginning early childhood teachers' role performance and childcare teachers's support, which were related to type of child-care center role performance, but there were no differences in beginning early childhood teachers' self leadership. Secondly, childcare teachers's support have statistically meaningful positive influences on beginning early childhood teachers' role performance through the mediation of self leadership. • Purpose: In this study a caregiver's role improvement program was developed and tested to identify the effect on uncertainty, stress, and role performance of caregivers with hospitalized children. Methods: The design of this study was a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group and a non-synchronized design. Thirty-three caregivers were assigned to the experimental group and 33 to the control group. Data were collected from March 5 2016 to April 10 2016. For the experimental treatment, each individual was given on-site education with situated learning (given 30 minutes each, for 2 sessions), and self-repetition learning activities were performed from the e-book. Data were analyzed using t-test, ${\chi}^2-test$, Fisher's exact test, paired t-test, and independent t-test. Results: The level of uncertainty and stress decreased, and role performance level improved for these caregivers with hospitalized children. Conclusion: The findings of this study show that using on-site education through situated learning and self-repetition learning with an e-book as in the caregiver's role improvement program is an effective intervention. Therefore, utilizing the caregiver role improvement program developed in this study is recommended as an effective intervention for caregivers of hospitalized children.

To achieve the research goal, this study conducted a survey targeting a total of 300 teachers, vice principals and principals working for infant educational institutes located in Gyeonggi-do, and analyzed 253 copies of the survey in total. The study used a structural equation to design a structural equation-based model to look into the structural relationships related to the role performance with the teaching efficacy and job stress. The collected data was then analyzed by AMOS 18.0 to estimate the correspondence and the parameter of the model. According to the results of the analysis, the role performance of kindergarten teachers was observed to have an immediate influence on the teaching efficacy. The role performance of kindergarten teachers was directly connected to job stress. The job stress had an indirect relationship with the role performance of kindergarten teachers through the teaching efficacy. The teaching efficacy of the kindergarten teachers was confirmed to have immediate association with the job stress of infant teachers.

  • A comparative study was conducted to identify the effects of prenatal education on primiparas' self-confidence, satisfaction in maternal role performance and perception of delivery experience. Data were collected from 91 primiparas from August 1 to 30, 2001 using structured questionnaires. The subjects were selected from 2 OB & GY hospitals which operate the same prenatal education programs in M city. One group of subjects was primiparas who did receive prenatal education (n= 44) and another group of subjects was primiparas who did not receive prenatal education (n= 47). This study hypothesized that primiparas in education group would have higher self- confidence, satisfaction in maternal role performance and perception of delivery experience than those of non-education group. Descriptive statistics, $x^2$-test, t-test, and correlation were used for data analyses. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Primiparas in prenatal education group would not have better perception of delivery experience than those of non-education group (t=1.405, p = 0.163). 2. Primiparas in prenatal education group would have higher self-confidence in maternal role performance than those of non-education group (t=7.669, p=0.000). 3. Primiparas in prenatal education group would have higher satisfaction in maternal role performance than those of non- education group (t=4.115, p = 0.000). 4. There was significant correlations between self-confidence and satisfaction (r=0.489, p=0.000). Moreover, there was significant correlation between self-confidence and perception of delivery experience (r = 0.284, p = 0.006). The results of this study indicated that prenatal education needs to be developed and applied to nursing practice to increase self-confidence and satisfaction in maternal role performance. Experimental studies are needed to identify the effect of prenatal education.
