Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of oriental medical treatment on Bell's palsy patients receiving chemotherapy. Methods : A clinical study was done on 3 patients who were diagnosed and treated as Bell's palsy at the Dep. of Acupuncture and Moxibustion College of Oriental Medicine Daejeon University. The effects of combined treatment of acupuncture, herbal medicine and physiotherapy were evaluated with Yanagihara's unweighted grading tool. Results : 1. There was significant improvement on Yanagihara score after treating with Gunbiikqi(健脾益氣) method, which was based on pattern differentiation as Hur(虛證). 2. Three patients commonly complained heaviness, dyspepsia, anorexia after receiving chemotherapy and oriental medical treatment showed significant improvement on the symptoms. 3. All three cases received herbal medicine treatment and liver function test. Three cases showed normal range of liver function during and after the treatment. Conclusions : Oriental-medicine treatment did not damage in liver function and showed significant improvement on Bell's palsy in patients receiving chemotherapy. But it is considerd that we need to keep limits in getting enough patients.

With advance of high bandwidth network infrastructure, the requirement is dramatically increasing to cooperate between the users who are far from each other and make use of bulk data. However, as the prominent data transmission protocol, it is well known that TCP suffers some degrees of inefficiency for bulk data transmission when RTT is relatively big. So, some works are on going to suggest a new transmission method to utilize the bandwidth in effective. UDT(UDP-based Data Transfer protocol) is one of these. It is a UDP based application level protocol which can guarantee reliability and stability. much like as TCP. In this paper, we present a design and implementation of UDT based bulk data transmission tool by applying parallel and compressive techniques. The implementation result is examined to measured its performance improvement on a real test-bed, and then compared with existing bulk data transmission tools. Experimental results show that proposed tool is more stable and shows greater performance than that of native UDT. Especially, the performances show 244% improvement in RTT 400ms without losses and 229% in RTT 250ms with 0.005% losses respectively.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the conflict resolution program on children's psychological well-being, empathy, and aggression. The subjects of this study were 2 classes from fourth grade D elementary school in Daegu. One class(31 students) was placed in an experimental group and the other class(32 students) was placed in a control group. The research design of this study is based on a pre-test and a post-test between the both groups. With the test data, the students feedbacks were collected to identify the subject's responds to the program. Item data were analyzed by repeated measures MANOVA(two-factor mixed design). The quantitative results of this study were as follows: First, compared to the control group, the experimental group that participated in the conflict resolution program showed a significant improvement in psychological well-being. Second, compared to the control group, the experimental group that participated in the conflict resolution program showed a significant improvement in empathy. compared to the control group, the experimental group that participated in the conflict resolution program showed a significant decrease in aggression. These results were supported and intensified by qualitative data based on comment papers and questionnaire. In conclusion, the conflict resolution program can be an effective tool for the improvement of psychological well-being and empathy, and the decrease of aggression.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Read Along by Google with primary English learners' pronunciation and affective domains. In order to answer these two questions, a 4-week pilot study was conducted with 24 participants in the 6 th grade. Read Along as a main learning tool was utilized for a reading-aloud activity, and a pre-/post pronunciation test and survey on the affective factors were distributed as a research instrument. The results indicated that a read-aloud activity with Read Along brought a positive impact on the development of learners' pronunciation ability in terms of accuracy and fluency. Participants showed improvement in the post-pronunciation test, compared to the pre-one and there was a significant difference based on the result of the paired samples t-test. Next, the results of the survey on the affective domains illustrated that participants showed overall improvement in learning interest and confidence and there was a significant difference in these factors. Yet, there was not a significant difference in the learning attitude, even though they showed partial improvement.
This thesis seeks to inquire into the effect of group art therapy using a fabric medium on the emotional intelligence of middle school students. This application of fabrics to group art therapy is helpful in terms of gender roles and equality from an educational aspect and can help activate and control positive sentiment. Therefore, it was believed to have a positive effect on emotional intelligence. The subjects were 28 boys and girls who were students of the Supportive Project for the Priority Region of Educational Welfare Investment. The measurement tool is a revision of the emotional intelligence test of Mun Yong-Rin (1997), which itself was based on the emotional intelligence model of Mayer and Salovey (1997). The data materials are analyzed by SPSS (ver. 17.0 for Windows). To test the homogeneity of the groups, the Mann-Whitney U test was carried out, and to analyze the effect of this program, the Wilcoxon signed ranks test was carried out. The results are as follows. This program had a positive effect on the emotional intelligence of both male and female students, especially on their empathy and activation of thinking among the subcategories. This study has significance in that it verifies the effect of the improvement of emotional intelligence by way of group art therapy using fabrics, adding a fabric medium to the art medium. As the subject group was restricted to 28 adolescents in the Supportive Project, it is not easy to generalize the achievement to the entiresphere of group art therapy.

This study was conducted to identify differences in Practical Performance of Nurse between Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Ward and General Service Ward. The subjects of this study were 185 nurses from S hospital, Comprehensive Nursing Care service operating hospital, located in D city. This study used the measuring tool "Nursing Professionalism Scale" developed by Yoon etc(2005) and "Practical Performance Scale" developed by Lee etc(2005). The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression using SPSS 20.0 version. As a result of the study, Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Ward nurses have higher Nursing Professionalism than General Service Ward nurses. Also, Nursing Professionalism has an effect on improvement of Practical Performance on Both ward nurses. Therefore, the study can be applied to improve the Practical Performance of the nurses through the establishment of the Nursing Professionalism.

Due to the influence of the fourth industrial revolution in recent years, maker education is getting attention. Therefore, this study tried to propose the possibility of application (app) development education as maker education by empirically verifying the affective and cognitive effects of app development education using authoring tool. To do this, we implemented app development education in D high school in Seoul, Korea, and collected data from 41 participants. We analyzed the changes in attitudes toward SW education and creative problem-solving ability before and after the education by conducting the paired t-test, and the level of satisfaction and perceived achievement through descriptive statistics analysis. Also, the learner's responses collected through the open-ended questionnaire were analyzed qualitatively. The result showed that the attitude toward SW education and creative problem-solving ability showed statistically significant improvement after app development education using the authoring tool, and the learner's statement also supported this result. Also, satisfaction and perceived achievement after the education were relatively high. Through these results, we have empirically confirmed the effect of app development education using the authoring tool for high school students, and derived the theoretical and practical implications.
The purpose of this study is to develop a group counseling program to improve the learning habits of the elementary school children who experience difficulties learning, because of their wrong learning habits. To achieve it, the sub-elements of learning habits are set by "learning motive & attitude" and "learning technique" A group counseling program composed of the essential factors suitable for each element are srhseqrently, devised to pursue the improvement of learning habits. The study propositions are set as follows: Can the group counseling program improve the learning habits of elementary school children? 1. Can the group counseling program improve the learning motive and attitude of elementary school children? 2. Can the group counseling program improve the learning technique of elementary school children? The subject of this study is the 4th graders of W elementary school located in Gwangju Metropolitan City. After selecting 12 pupils from low scorers after a learning habits test, Each 6 of those are randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group, respectively. In this way, they are pcrticipate in the group counseling program. The group counseling program is consisted of 10 sessions. The program is implemented for six weeks with a 50 min duration per session. As a measuring tool, a restructured test with only motive variables and technique variables, excluding remaining variables, from the Learning Habits Test by Choi Jong-Ryul (1992) is used for pre and post tests. The results of the study is acquired by integrating the statistics from the test tool. Observation of the counselor and testees' thoughts are as follows: The group counseling program affects the sub-elements of learning habits positively, namely learning motive & attitude and learning technique. The program applied in this study is effective in improving the learning habits of the pupils with lower learning habits. Accordingly, this program can be one of the methods to develop effective learning habits, set efficient strategies and exert abilities maximally for the learners, who did not adequately exert their abilities, due to wrong learning habits, while ineffectively learning without knowing effective learning habits. To improve and maintain the learning habits of the elementary school pupils, overall understanding should be backed in order to precisely analyze and identify the learning habits of the pupils. Besides, an association between schools and homes is also needed along with parents' concerns over their children's learning habits at home.
The purpose of this study is to develop a personality education program that can enhance the virtues of elementary school students, self-esteem, Consideration communication, self-control, honesty courage by using coaching methodologically, To improve the personality virtue. The subjects of this study were 31 students from 4th grade of U elementary school in S Gu, Seoul. The experimental group was divided into 16 sessions, weekly from March 5, 2018 to June 30, 2018, 1 hour (40 minutes). The program consisted of items such as self-esteem, Consideration communication, self-control, honesty courage among the personality virtues of KEDI personality test, Each activity used a tough coaching model developed by combining the GROW model with the Empowering model and considering the developmental level of elementary school students. As a result, all four virtues of personality were significantly improved, model with the Empowering model and considering the developmental level of elementary school students. We compared pre and post test result with paired t-test. As a results, the experimental group showed improvement in all four virtues of personality at 0.05 significance level, whereas the control group did not. This suggests that the program can be usefully used as a tool to improve four virtues of personality of elementary school students. For further research, we expect that the program would be integrated with state-of-art technology such as online program or CBI(Computer-Based Instruction).

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of peak kilovoltage (kVp) and a metal artifact reduction (MAR) tool on image quality and the diagnosis of vertical root fracture (VRF) in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods: Twenty single-rooted human teeth filled with an intracanal metal post were divided into 2 groups: control (n = 10) and VRF (n = 10). Each tooth was placed into the socket of a dry mandible, and CBCT scans were acquired using a Picasso Trio varying the kVp (70, 80, 90, or 99), and the use of MAR (with or without). The examinations were assessed by 5 examiners for the diagnosis of VRF using a 5-point scale. A subjective evaluation of the expression of artifacts was done by comparing random axial images of the studied protocols. The results of the diagnoses were analyzed using 2-way analysis of variance and the Tukey post hoc test, the subjective evaluations were compared using the Friedman test, and intra-examiner reproducibility was evaluated using the weighted kappa test (α = 5%). Results: The kVp and MAR did not influence the diagnosis of VRF (p > 0.05). According to the subjective classification, the 99 kVp protocol with MAR demonstrated the least expression of artifacts, while the 70 kVp protocol without MAR led to the most artifacts. Conclusions: Protocols with higher kVp combined with MAR improved the image quality of CBCT examinations. However, those factors did not lead to an improvement in the diagnosis of VRF.
