The Electrochemical Studies of Non-enzymatic Glucose Sensor on the Nickel Nanoparticle-deposited ITO Electrode (ITO 전극 위에 고정된 니켈 나노 입자를 이용한 무효소 혈당센서에 관한 전기화학적인 연구)

  • A highly sensitive and selective non-enzymatic glucose sensor has gained great attention because of simple signal transformation, low-cost, easily handling, and confirming the blood glucose as the representative technology. Until now, glucose sensor has been developed by the immobilization of glucose oxidase (GOx) on the surface of electrodes. However although GOx is quite stable compared with other enzymes, the enzyme-based biosensors are still impacted by various environment factors such as temperature, pH value, humidity, and toxic chemicals. Non-enzymatic sensor for direct detecting glucose is an attractive alternative device to overcome the above drawbacks of enzymatic sensor. Many efforts have been tried for the development of non-enzymatic sensors using various transition metals (Pt, Au, Cu, Ni, etc.), metal alloys (Pt-Pb, Pt-Au, Ni-Pd, etc.), metal oxides, carbon nanotubes and graphene. In this paper, we show that Ni-based nano-particles (NiNPs) exhibit remarkably catalyzing capability for glucose originating from the redox couple of $Ni(OH)_2/NiOOH$ on the surface of ITO electrode in alkaline medium. But, these non-enzymatic sensors are nonselective toward oxidizable species such as ascorbic acid the physiological fluid. So, the anionic polymer was coated on NiNPs electrode preventing the interferences. The oxidation of glucose was highly catalyzed by NiNPs. The catalytically anodic currents were linearly increased in proportion to the glucose concentration over the 0~6.15 mM range at 650 mV versus Ag/AgCl.

A Study on Retailers' Recognition about Commercial Power Altering Due to Urban Regeneration Project : Case of Changwon Urban Regeneration Priority Project (도시재생사업에 따른 상인들의 상권 변화 인식에 관한 연구 : 창원시 도시재생 선도사업 사례)

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze local retailers' recognition of commercial power altered by urban regeneration. For the purpose of this study, analysis is performed on pilot urban regeneration priority projects implemented in the city of Changwon. Although regeneration of commercial districts directly affect the local retailers therein, little research has been carried out to examine how they recognize such changes. This study, therefore, identifies those factors that have influence on the recognition of local retailers who would be aware of the alteration of their commercial power more immediately than others do. Using an ordered logit model, empirical analysis on two pilot projects for Odong-dong and Chang-dong indicates that retailers in Odong-dong are more likely to have a negative recognition toward the altered business areas. For the both districts, recognition of business area alterations is affected with statistical significance by how long they have run their shops, how many employees they hire, and whether they believe that the urban regeneration has resulted in gentrification. For each of the mentioned district, recognition in Odong-dong is significantly impacted by the number of employees and recognized rent changes, while in Chang-dong, the age of retailers and the perceived presence of gentrification have statistically significant influence. Issues found by this study need to be addressed prior to the upcoming 'Urban Regeneration New Deal Project', which then will bring satisfaction to each and every local residents including those retailers.

  • The term 'impaction' is used to designate a tooth which remains unerupted in the jaw beyond the time at which it should normally be erupted. The main causal factors are local (lack of space, ectopic positions of teeth, supernumerary teeth, cyst, the occurrence of infectious process in the eruption path, traumatic facial injury etc.). Systemic and genetic disorders, however, may have primary failure of eruption and retarded eruption as additional symptoms (cleidocranial dysplasia, osteopetrosis etc.). Most cases of impacted teeth reported in the literature are of permanent teeth. The absence of primary teeth occur rarely whereas impaction of second primary molars is more numerous than all other impactions. Impaction due to primary failure of eruption must be distinguished from the secondary infraocclusion. The etiology of impaction of primary teeth is probably related to early ankylosis of primary teeth, but it is not clear. Failure of eruption of primary teeth may cause a number of complications, such as interference with development and eruption of succedaneous teeth, formation of cyst, and damage to adjacent teeth. This study is to report cases of primary failure of eruption in the primary dentition.

Reliability Analysis of VOC Data for Opinion Mining (오피니언 마이닝을 위한 VOC 데이타의 신뢰성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify how 7 sentiment domains extracted through sentiment analysis from social media have an influence on business performance. It consists of three phases. In phase I, we constructed the sentiment lexicon after crawling 45,447 pieces of VOC (Voice of the Customer) on 26 auto companies from the car community and extracting the POS information and built a seven-sensitive domains. In phase II, in order to retain the reliability of experimental data, we examined auto-correlation analysis and PCA. In phase III, we investigated how 7 domains impact on the market share of three major (GM, FCA, and VOLKSWAGEN) auto companies by using linear regression analysis. The findings from the auto-correlation analysis proved auto-correlation and the sequence of the sentiments, and the results from PCA reported the 7 sentiments connected with positivity, negativity and neutrality. As a result of linear regression analysis on model 1, we indentified that the sentimental factors have a significant influence on the actual market share. In particular, not only posotive and negative sentiment domains, but neutral sentiment had significantly impacted on auto market share. As we apply the availability of data to the market, and take advantage of auto-correlation of the market-related information and the sentiment, the findings will be a huge contribution to other researches on sentiment analysis as well as actual business performances in various ways.

A case study on the importance of non-intrusiveness of mobile devices in an interactive museum environment (인터랙티브 전시환경에서 모바일 디바이스의 비간섭적 특성의 중요성에 대한 사례 연구)

  • This research sheds light on the non-intrusive traits of mobile devices (Electronic Guidebook, Rememberer, I-Guides and eXspot) deployed in Exploratorium for enhancing visitor experience via case studies. In an interactive exhibition environment, non-intrusiveness was the key to supporting the immersive experience and meaning-making for visitors. The usability of hand-held devices directly impacted on the non-intrusiveness, thereby reshaping the form-factors of mobile devices. The change in from-factor has also minimized the functions of devices as the remember of museum experience. Furthermore, the role of mobile devices, which turned from a supposed multi-media guide to a mere rememberer, made them virtually impossible for realizing the "seamless visiting model" originally planned. An array of projects carried out in Exploration have achieved some degree of success such as increasing viewing time as well as reinforcing post-visit activities. However, taken from musicological perspective, increase in viewing time is by all means insufficient to be taken as proof since it is assumed to be achieved by photo-taking (i.e. MyExploratorium) rather than by interacting between visitors and exhibits. This issue --increased viewing time -- needs to be analyzed in depth. All in all, mobile devices used in Exploratorium can be defined as a learning tool/educational supporting medium based on personalization for (visitors') optimizing extended museum experience.

Work and Life Balance of Working Single-person Households : Focused on Unmarried 20-30 Generation (취업 1인가구의 일-생활 균형: 20-30대 미혼을 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the work and life balance of unmarried working cases in single-person households. Eleven cases were interviewed with a semi-structured questionnaire. The results were as follows: When they were starting as a single-person household on their own initiative and with enough preparation and planning, they expressed higher satisfaction as a single person household. For their adaptation to being a single-person household, practice education and information about household work and self-care were useful. Their thought about 'life' are focusing on self improvement and leisure activities either alone or with their friends. Their family interactions were performed with financial, emotional, and housework support from each other. Resources such as money and time were the major factors that impacted work and life balance. For work and life balance of single person househods, the cases needed political support for financial aid and flexible work arrangements.

Structural Integrity Assessment of Helicopter Composite Rotor Blade by Analyzing Bird-strike Resistance (조류충돌 해석을 통한 헬리콥터 복합재 로터 블레이드 구조 건전성 평가)

  • Bird-strike is one of the most important design factors for safety in the aviation industry. Bird-strikes have been the cause of significant damage to aircraft and rotorcraft structures and the loss of life. This study used DYTRAN software to simulate the transient response of an Euler-Lagrangian composite helicopter blade that has been impacted by a bird. The Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) method and a suitable equation of state were applied to model the bird. ALE was applied to the bird-strike analysis due to the large difference between the properties of the blade and bird. The debris of the bird was assumed to be a fluid and applied as Euler elements after the collision. Through the analysis of bird impacts, the leading-edge of the rotor blade (50.8 mm) was used to identify a positive margin of 1.18 based on the TSAI-FILL criteria. The results are assessed to be sufficiently reliable and may be evaluated to replace tests with various analysis conditions. The structural stability of the rotor blade could be assessed by applying various load conditions and different modeling methods in the future.

Comparative assessment of urban stormwater low impact strategies equipped with pre-treatment zones (침강지 시설이 조성된 LID 시설의 환경적 영향평가)

  • Recently, Low impact development techniques, a form of nature-based solutions (NBS), were seen cost-efficient alternatives that can be utilized as alternatives for conventional stormwater management practices. This study evaluated the effectiveness of an infiltration trench (IT) and a small constructed wetland (SCW) in treating urban stormwater runoff. Long-term monitoring data were observed to assess the seasonal performance and cite the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing the facilities. Analyses revealed that the IT has reduced performance during the summer season due to higher runoff volumes that exceeded the facility's storage volume capacity and caused the facility to overflow. On the other hand, the pollutant removal efficiency of the SCW was impacted by the winter season as a result of dormant biological activities. Sediment data also indicated that fine and medium sand particles mostly constituted the trapped sediments in the pretreatment and media zones. Sediments in SCW exhibited a lower COD and TN load due to the phytoremediation and microbiological degradation capabilities of the system. This study presented brief comparison LID facilities equipped with pre-treatment zones. The identified factors that can potentially affect the performance of the systems were also beneficial in establishing metrics on the utilization of similar types of nature-based stormwater management practices.

A Study on the Changes in Korean Ocean Carriers' Financial Ratios and Profitability Before and After the Bankruptcy of the H-Line Carrier (H선사 파산전후 국적외항선사의 재무비율 차이분석과 영향요인 연구)

  • This study conducts differential analysis on the financial positions of Korean shipping companies before and after the bankruptcy of the H carrier, looking specifically at their financial ratios, profit and loss patterns, and other factors related to their financial operation. Firstly, it was discovered that major measures of financial health, such as average assets per carrier, were not affected by the bankruptcy of the H carrier. However, despite this, most carriers experienced large changes in profits and losses, with total sales and shipping revenues averaging 424.5 billion won and 381.7 billion won respectively before the bankruptcy, but falling by half to 252.1 billion won and 234.6 billion won after the bankruptcy. Additionally, charter revenues and expenses also dropped by more than half. EBIT/sales and pre-tax revenue margins were also heavily affected after the bankruptcy, with both figures averaging 8% and 3% respectively before the bankruptcy, but falling into the negative range at -2% and -8% post-bankruptcy, resulting in significant deterioration in operational profitability. The study concludes that there is an urgent need to establish a global sales network, improve cost structures, and consistently secure stable cargo in order to increase Korean carriers' profitability. Of all financial measures, liquidity and total asset efficiency were identified as the most severely-impacted by the H carrier bankruptcy, thereby requiring the most pressing policy addressing.

A Study on the Effects of Job Crafting and Innovation Behavior on Organizational Commitment -Focusing on the moderating effect of knowledge sharing- (잡크래프팅과 혁신행동이 조직헌신에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 -지식공유의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This work verifies the effect of Job Crafting on organizational commitment through innovative actions, and analyzes the regulatory effect, by setting up knowledge sharing among members as factors that promote Job Crafting and Innovative Action. Depending on the level of knowledge sharing, the indirect effects of Job Crafting from organizational commitment of the members through innovative actions are expected to vary, and the controlled mediated effects are analyzed. Totally, 463 individuals were surveyed, including start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions, and large enterprise workers. The hypothesis was subsequently verified through analysis by applying SPSS 18.0 and SPSS Process Macro. Our results reveal that Job Crafting has a positive impact on the innovation behavior of the members. Secondly, a higher level of knowledge sharing had a greater positive outcome in the member's innovation behavior. Third, all innovative actions positively impacted the organizational commitment of the members. The fourth notable point was that innovation behavior imparted only a moderate impact on the association between Job Crafting and Organizational Commitment. Finally, it was determined that there was no significance in the controlled mediated effect of knowledge sharing on the indirect effects of Job Crafting affecting organizational commitment through innovative actions. Based on the data verifying the hypothesis, we present here the theoretical and practical implications of this study.
