Purpose: This study is descriptive research that confirms breakfast eating habit of woman's college students and related factors. Methods: This investigation took place in August 2010 and was participated 142 students of one woman's college which located in a large city. The contents of the questionnaire consists of general trait, diet trait, life patterns and health states. Results: According to the results of uni-variate analysis, the significant variables of breakfast eating habit are: Recognition of importance of breakfast, spare time before attendance, her parents's breakfast eating habit, times of snack, times of eating out and index of food life style. But, according to the results of multi-variate analysis, the number of the significant variables became narrow and they were: Recognition of importance of breakfast, spare time before attendance and her father's breakfast eating habit. Conclusion: Finally, it can be said that the breakfast eating habit of woman's college student is related to recognition of importance of breakfast, spare time before attendance and her father's breakfast habit strongly. It is necessary to emphasis on the recognition of the importance of breakfast and concerns of parents for breakfast eating habit to improve the regularity of breakfast eating habit for woman's college students' health.
The purpose of this study was to improve the motivation for prevention of adult chronic disease through identifying the relationship between health awareness and health behavior. These data was based on the survey of 524 men, This study employed 90 questions, related to general cheracteristics, health awareness, health behavior, dietary habit, mass media utilizing health information, The data were analyzed by using t-test, ANOVA, Contingency-Coefficient, Duncan's multiple range test. The result of this study revealed the follows: 1. The contingency coefficient between health awareness and health behavior showed that total(C=0.3272), 30-39 age group(C=3949), 40-49 age group(C=0.3978), which(C.) mean higher scores, had a [used to visit whenever they were ill], that 50-59 age group(C=0.4165) demonstrate higher score concerned with [Smoking]. 2, The general dietary habit related to statistically significant difference in men's age, educational status, income, economic status, job, concern of adult chronic disease(p<0.01). 3. The general dietary habit related to statistically significant difference in cancer patients arrounding them, knowledge of diabetes, hypertensiom and cancer (p<0.01). 4, Dietary habit for preventing obesity related to statistically significant difference in men's age, income(p<0.05). 5, Dietary habit for preventing obesity related to statistically significant difference in sensitivity of diabetes, hypertension and knowledge of diabetes, cancer(p<0.01). In conclusion, health education which were emphasis of health behavior formation is reguired.
Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the general properties of beauticians and to analyze correlation between their experiences of indigestion and relevant factors and thus to provide basic data to prevent obstacles to beautician's health. Methods: A self-administered survey on 257 female beauticians in Daegu from March 15 to May 30, 2005 was conducted. Cross-link analysis was used to examine indigestion in relation to the general properties of beauticians, and correlation analysis was used to determine the level of relationship between indigestion and relevant factors, and multiple regression analysis was used to determine the degree of effects of relevant factors on indigestion. Results: The results can be summarized as follows: 1. As for indigestion by general properties and beauty-related properties, there were significant differences in gender(p<0.01), age(p<0.05) and marriage status(p<0.05) among general properties and there were significant differences in the number of holiday(p<0.05), beauty culture career(p<0.01), and the degree of satisfaction on duty(p<0.001) among beauty-related properties. As for indigestion by eating habit and health-related properties, there were significant differences in the degrees of regular eating(p<0.001) and regular living habit(p<0.001), and eating speed(p<0.01). 2. Factors relevant to the eating habit showing significant correlation with indigestion were regular eating habit, taking well-balanced nutrition, and taking salty food. Among them, the regular eating habit was shown to be the most relevant with the correlation coefficient of -0.253(p<0.01). The general and beauty-related factors showing significant correlation with indigestion were beauty culture career, number of holiday, and regular living habit. And regular living habit was shown to be the most relevant with the correlation coefficient of -0.260(p<0.001). 3. Results from the regression analysis showed that relevant factors having significant effects on indigestion were gender, beauty culture career, satisfaction on duty, eating speed, regular eating habit and regular living habit. And satisfaction on duty was found to have the greatest effect on indigestion. Conclusions: The findings of this study could be effectively used to develop a practical management strategy to prevent $beauticia{\acute{n}}s$ indigestion, and to promote $beauticia{\acute{n}}s$ health, and ultimately to improve the $beauticia{\acute{n}}s$ quality of life.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of soda, fast food, and ramen consumption on dietary habit and health behavior of adolescents and to investigate pathway of which junk food influencing health status. Methods: The findings of this study were based on the data obtained from the 2015 11th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. The analysis was accomplished using structural equation model which was designed based on the ideas that junk food consumption affects health status not only directly but also indirectly through eating habit and health behavior. Results: The structural models of both sexes revealed that the more they consumed junk food, the more negative effects it had on eating habit and health behavior. In addition, junk food consumption had an negative influence on health status directly and indirectly through eating habit and health behavior. Conclusions: The study results imply that school health education regarding proper eating habit should be implemented and that related policies should be established since complex individual, social, and environmental factors contribute to adolescents' eating habit.
Objectives: The researchers investigated the relationship between sleep pattern (circadian rhythm/sleep deprivation), eating habit, and the perceived skin condition of female adults, in orders to provide valuable information to women who want to maintain healthy skin and professionals in health promotion. Methods: The participants were 297 female adults whose ages ranged from 20 to 60 (M=35.14, SD=10.37). The questionnaires and psychological tests used in this research included the following: Circadian Rhythm Questionnaire, Sleep Deprivation Scale, Eating Habit Questionnaire, Skin Condition Questionnaire, Scale for Perceived Skin Health. Results: Results indicated that evening type women had more fatty skin and felt their skins less healthier than morning type. Although women who did not deprived their sleep had more fatty and sensitive skin and felt their skins less healthier than women who deprived their sleep, sleep deprivation was positively related to the morningness, and the morningness was negatively related to the preference of fatty and spicy foods. Only the preference of fatty foods among eating habit was positively related to the fatty and sensitive skin, and negatively to the perceived skin health. Regression analyses with circadian rhythm and the preference of fatty foods revealed that only circadian rhythm was significant predictor for the fatty skin, while the preference of fatty foods was only significant predictor for the sensitive skin and the perceived skin health. And, circadian rhythm and the preference of fatty foods accounted for around 12.0% variance of the fatty skin. Conclusion: This study reiterates the roles of fatty foods on skin health, and found the role of circadian rhythm on skin health, and it is needed to explore the relationship between sleep deprivation and skin condition further. These results may provide useful information for health practitioners.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the relationship among perceived health status, dietary habit and health promoting behaviors of university students. Methods: The subjects were 464 university students. Data were collected by using self-reported questionnaires. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis with the PASW 18.0 program. Results: The mean score of perceived health status was 3.24, dietary habit was 2.85 and health promoting behaviors was 2.24. There were significant differences in perceived health status according to gender, BMI, exercise and stress. There were significant differences in dietary habit according to residence, monthly allowance, drinking alcohol, exercise, sleeping hours and stress. In addition there were significant differences in health promoting behaviors according to gender, residence, BMI, smoking and exercise. Also, perceived health status significantly positively correlated between dietary habit and health promoting behaviors. Conclusions: As the results of multiple regression analysis, the related factors of perceived health status of university students were exercise, stress and spiritual growth factor. Therefore, it is necessary to develop multiple health promoting programs considering characteristics of university students. And various strategies have been developed to increase the physical activity should be run.
This study was carried out to analyze the effect of a diet program for adult women on weight loss, BMI, eating habits, sleeping habits, health related indices. The subjects was 415 participants of the 10 weeks (20 time participation program). The data was collected by basic somatometry and HRV (Heart Rate Variability) / APG (Accelerated Plethysmograph) Analyzer. The average age, height, weight and BMI were 28.6 years, 162.1 cm, 62.8 kg and 23.9 $kg/m^2$, respectively. Their body types by BMI were under weight (1.2%), normal (45.8%), overweight (24.8%), mild obesity (22.7%) and obesity (5.5%). There were significant reductions of average weight (4.6 kg) and average BMI (1.75 $kg/m^2$) on the 10th week. There were positive changes in vascular age (50.4%), stress index (44.6%), fatigue index (43.9%), health index (54.5%) of the subjects during the program. There was a meaningful difference of the average variation for the vascular age, stress index, fatigue index, and health index between two groups; one improving the eating habit and the other did not (p<0.05), and also there was a meaningful difference of the average variation for the fatigue index in both groups improving the sleeping habit (p<0.05), but was not a meaningful difference of the average variation for the vascular age, stress index, and health index between two groups. There was a meaningful difference of the average variation for the vascular age, stress index, fatigue index, and health index between two groups improving both eating and sleeping habit (p<0.05). In conclusion, the weight loss program was effective on the weight loss and BMI reduction and health related indices.
Purpose: This study was performed to examine predictors of allied health science students' exercise behavior using Pender's Health Promotion Model. Method: The subjects were 203 university students majoring in nursing, emergency medical service, and exercise prescription. The hypothetical model was based on the HPM(Pender, 1996). Exogenous variables of the model were exercise habit and role belief. Endogenous variables were exercise-related affect, exercise self-efficacy, exercise barrier, exercise intention, and exercise behavior. The data were analyzed by SAS PC program and LISREL 8.12 program. Result: The degree of exercise behavior was low(mean 1.86, range 1~4). The overall fit of the model to the data was acceptable. Exercise habit, exercise self-efficacy and exercise-related affect were significant predictors of exercise intention and exercise behavior. Conclusion: This study shows the necessity of the program to increase the level of exercise participation of university students majoring in allied health science. The model constructed in this study is applicable to explain exercise behavior of university students majoring in allied health science, and suggests that we should focus on exercise habit, exercise self-efficacy and exercise-related affect to increase the level of exercise behavior of this group.

This study was attempted to identify factors related to the health habit practice in stroke patients of some area. Data was surveyed using interview and questionnaires by 142 stroke patients who visited a general hospital which was located in Seoul from May 3 to June 3, 2010. The results were as follows ; First, there was significantly negative correlation between health information and unpredictability(r=-0.264, p<0.01), and positive correlation between uncertainty and stress(r=0.582, p<0.01). Secondly, as a result of multiple regression analysis,, health habit practice of stroke patients was significantly influenced by age($R^2$=0.62, p=0.000), unpredictability($R^2$=0.096, p=0.006), health information($R^2$=0.055, p=0.005), sex($R^2$=0.068, p=0.003), the usage of stroke therapy($R^2$=0.041, p=0.017). In conclusion, strategies for enhancing health information and reducing uncertainty are needed to promote health habit practice in patients with stroke.
In health promotion program, the fear of gaining weight is often given as a reason for giving up smoking cessation by the participants. The purpose of this study is to compare drinking habit, exercise and BMI distribution according to smoking habits. The subjects of this study were 83 industrial workers in Gu-mi. Data collection was conducted from Sep. 18th to Sep. 24th 2000. The method was self-reported questionnaire survey, consisted of general characterisics, smoking habits and its relevant questions. The results are as follows : 1. Fifty-nine percents of the subjects were currently smoking. 2. Smoking habits were significantly related with drinking(p=.049). More smokers(81.6%) reported drinking habit than non-smokers(61.7%). 3. Forty-one point two percents of the non-smoker and 34.7% of the smoker perceived their body type as "fat". 4. The mean values of BMI were 22.0 in smokers with 1-9 cigarettes/day, 24.2 in 10-19 cigarettes/day smokers and 24.0 in smokers with over 20 cigarettes/day. There are no statistically significant differences in BMI among smoking habits. 5. BMI among different smoking habit groups was not significant different in age, drinking habit, exercise, and smoking habit.
