  • Magnetic Characteristics of an InSb hall device of multilayered structures were investigated. For the measurement of electrical properties of the hall device InSb thin films fabricated with series and parallel multilayers wee evaporated. Hall coefficient hall mobility carrier density and hall voltage were measured as a function of the intensity of magnetic field. We found that the XRD analysis of InSb thin film showed good properties at 20$0^{\circ}C$ 60 minutes. Resistance of ohmic contact was increased linearly due to increasing current. Hall voltages at 0.01 T showed 5$\times$10$^{-4}$ [V] and $1.5\times$10$^{-3}$ [V]. Some of device fabrication technique and analysis of magnetic characteristics were discussed.

  • An impeller identification technique that is essential for adding viscosity measurement functions to overhead stirrers is presented in this study. Previous studies have revealed that using magnets facing the same poles arranged in a row can aid in distinguishing the types of impellers by detecting the number of magnets in a non-contact manner. However, as these previous studies measured the magnetic fields using analog Hall sensors, a converting circuit for the digital signals is required that can interface with the MCU. In this study, it was demonstrated that the number of magnets can be distinguished without using a separate conversion circuit by using a Hall sensor with a digital output. Owing to the unique hysteresis characteristics of digital Hall sensors, it was confirmed through experiments that the complex and diverse outputs appear depending on the direction of the magnetic field, the arrangement of magnetic poles, and the moving direction of the magnet. The measurement of the magnetic field showed that an edge signal equal to the number of magnets inserted into the impeller was detected when the radial direction was used, and the south pole was first approached.

  • The purpose of this research is furnishing of basic material for acoustic planning hereafter, after understanding the acoustic merits and demerits through measuring and analyzing on room acoustic of small performance hall. As the result of the measurement, those physical evaluation indexes such as SPL, RT, EDT, $D_{50}$, $C_{80}$, RASTI have being kept the satisfiable acoustic condition for the service of performance hall. Therefore, as small performance hall is regarded as equipped with sufficient volume of sound, reverberatory feeling and diffusive feeling, it judges as an excellent performance place, also it is considered that it could be utilized as a useful material when design so similar performance hall, hereafter.

  • We examine the principle of a modified Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) technique to measure the free spectral range of a Fabry-Perot etalon (FPE). The FPE's periodic transmission of phase-modulated light allows us to adopt a sampling theorem to develop a new relationship for the PDH error signal. This leads us to find the key parameters governing the measurement accuracy: the phase modulation index ${\beta}$ and the FPE finesse. Without any additional complexity for background noise reduction, we achieve a measurement accuracy of 0.5 ppm. The improvement is mainly attributed to the wide-band phase modulation approaching ${\beta}=10$, and partly to the use of both reflected and transmitted light from the FPE and good FPE finesse.

  • There are many ways to detect the heart rate non-invasively such as ECG, PPG, strain gauge, and pressure sensor. In this paper, the pulse wave measurement system using bipolar biased head on mode of the Hall sensor is proposed for measuring the radial artery pulse. TMS320F2812 was used to implement the proposed system and a portable wireless network(zig-bee) was used to show the experimental result. It was confirmed from experiment that the performance of the implemented system was more stable and faster than PPG sensor or piezoelectric film pressure sensor.

  • BLDC motor is widely used as a servo motor due to high efficiency, high power density, low inertia, and low maintenance. However, BLDC motor generally needs position and velocity sensors to control actuation system. Usually, analog tachometers and encoders have been used for velocity feedback sensors. However, using these types of sensors have problems such as the cost, space, and malfunction. So, This paper is to propose a new velocity measurement method using linear hall-effect and enhanced differentiator for BLDC motor. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed method, several simulations and experiments are performed. It is shown that the proposed velocity measurement method can satisfy the requirements without using of velocity sensor.

  • Characteristics of the ozone concentrations in Seoul were analyzed for the data between May and September from 1996 to 2000. Observation data from 27 stations in Seoul are used. Among the results from 27 stations, representative results from 2 stations (City hall and Gwanak representing downtown and background areas of Seoul, respectively) are presented. The 24-hour average ozone concentrations of Gwanak (28.6 ppb) are higher than City hall (14.9 ppb). The 24-hour average ozone concentrations on Sunday are higher than other days at both sites. During weekday, the 24-hour average ozone concentrations on Wednesday are higher than other days. Although the mean of the I-hour daily maximum ozone concentrations at Gwanak is higher than City hall, the . ozone concentrations above 95th percentile at City hall are higher than Gwanak. As a result, the number of days on which the 1 - hour ozone concentration exceeding 100 ppb and 120 ppb at Gwanak (17 and 3) are lower than City hall (29 and 9). To sum up, both sites are VOCs limited region and the mean ozone concentration in Gwanak is higher because of the lower N0$_2$ concentration. But high ozone cases occur more frequently in City hall when conditions are right.
