국내 선물시장의 장기기억과 시장의 효율성에 관한 연구 (Long Memory and Market Efficiency in Korean Futures Markets)

  • Purpose - This paper analyzes the market efficiency focusing on the long memory properties of the domestic futures market. By decomposing futures prices into yield and volatility and looking at the long memory properties of the time series, this study aims to understand the futures market pricing and change behavior and risks, specifically and in detail. Design/methodology/approach - This study analyzes KOSPI 200 futures, KOSDAQ 150 futures, 3 and 10-year government bond futures, US dollar futures, yen futures, and euro futures, which are among the most actively traded on the Korea Exchange. To analyze the long memory and market efficiency, we used the Variance Ratio, Rescaled-Range(R/S), Geweke and Porter-Hudak(GPH) tests as semi- parametric methods, and ARFIMA-FIGARCH model as the parametric method. Findings - It was found that all seven futures supported the efficiency market hypothesis because the property of long memory turned out not to exist in their yield curves. On the other hand, in futures volatility, all 7 futures showed long memory properties in the analysis, which means that if new information is generated in the domestic futures market and the market volatility once expanded due to the impact, it does not decrease or shrink for a long period of time, but continues to affect the volatility. Research implications or Originality - The results of this paper suggest that it can be useful information for predicting changes and risks of volatility in the domestic futures market. In particular, it was found that the long memory properties would be further strengthened in the currency futures and bond rate futures markets after the global financial crisis if the regime changes of the domestic financial market are taken into account in the analysis.

Effect of Brand Popularity in a Foreign Market on Consumer Behavior in a Franchise Cosmetic Retailer's Online Shop

  • Purpose: As consumers have difficulty in brand choice due to excessive information, using brand popularity as an advertising cue (e.g., Sales No. 1, Hit Product) has been getting more attention as an effective curation strategy for decreasing consumers' cognitive efforts. Accordingly, recent studies empirically demonstrate that consumers tend to prefer and choose a brand with a popularity cue and offer a useful information regarding how to use a popularity cue in marketing communication. However, extant research has mainly focused on investigating the impact of "brand popularity in a domestic market" on consumer behaviors. Thus, little is known about the effect of "brand popularity in a foreign market" on local consumers' decision-making process. Given that domestic consumers tend to purchase imported products from overseas countries, it can be meaningful information for global companies. Therefore, this research derives and tests the five hypotheses to examine how local consumers respond to brand popularity in a foreign market as an advertising cue. Specifically, it tests the three hypotheses regarding the direct and indirect effects of brand popularity in a foreign market on risk perception and purchase intention. Then, it tests two additional hypotheses about moderating effects of psychic distance on the relationship between brand popularity and risk perception as well as on the relationship between brand popularity and purchase intention. Seventy participants are exposed to an advertisement for an Indian cosmetic brand using a popularity cue in Indian market and answer the questions about brand evaluation. For data analysis, regression analysis is employed. The findings of this research show that perceived brand popularity lowers local consumers' perceived risk with a foreign brand. However, perceived brand popularity does not have a direct impact on purchase intention while it has an indirect effect through perceived risk. Meanwhile, psychic distance moderates the effect of perceived brand popularity on perceived risk level, but it has no impact on the relationship between brand popularity and purchase intention. This research is one of the first studies that demonstrate the positive impact of brand popularity in a foreign market on a local consumer's purchase decision, and it shows the effect can be moderated by psychic distance.

명품매장에 대한 서비스품질과 자아확장성이 명품 구매행동에 미치는 영향 : 중국소비자를 중심으로 (Impacts of Service Quality Towards Luxury Stores and Extended Self on Luxury Purchase Intention : Focusing on Chinese Consumer)

  • 본 연구는 중국 소비자들이 인식하는 명품매장의 서비스품질이 명품 구매행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 규명하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 선행연구를 바탕으로 명품매장의 서비스품질을 서비스전달품질과 서비스환경품질로 구분하여 각 서비스품질 하위 요인이 명품 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 실증분석하였다. 특히 본 연구는 중국 소비자의 자아확장성이 명품매장의 서비스품질과 명품 구매의도 간의 관계에 대해 정(+)의 조절효과를 가질 것으로 예측하고 이를 실증분석하였다. 실증분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중국 소비자의 명품매장에 대한 서비스전달품질과 서비스환경품질은 모두 명품 구매의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중국 소비자의 명품매장에 대한 자아확장성도 명품 구매의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 서비스품질과 구매의도 간의 관계에 대한 자아확장성의 조절효과를 실증분석한 결과 서비스환경품질과 구매의도 간의 관계에 대해서만 자아확장성이 조절효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 중국소비자의 명품 구매행동에 대한 학문적 지식의 확장과 중국 소비자를 대상으로 효과적인 명품마케팅 전략 수립에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

입력포화가 존재하는 다중 에이전트 시스템의 일치를 위한 이종제어 (Duplex Control for Consensus of Multi-agent Systems with Input Saturations)

  • 본 논문은 입력포화가 존재하는 다중 에이전트 시스템의 일치 문제를 연구한다. 일치 제어의 목표는 에이전트들이 정보교환을 통하여 그룹의 목표 상태로 일치되도록 함으로써 다중 에이전트 시스템의 군집 행동을 얻는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 입력포화가 존재하는 1차 역학에 의해 모델링된 에이전트 시스템들을 고려한다. 에이전트들의 전역적인 수렴성 보장을 위하여 에이전트들이 안정하다는 가정을 한다. 또한, 외란을 고려하여 일치를 달성하기 위한 PI(비례-적분) 기반의 이종 제어기법을 제안한다. 즉, 제안된 P제어기와 I제어기는 서로 다른 정보 네트워크로 구성된다. 다음으로 리아프노프 안정성 이론과 라살레 불변 법칙을 적용하여 일치를 달성하기 위한 P, I 제어기의 정보 네트워크 구성과 제어이득의 조건을 조사한다. 마지막으로 이론적 결과를 검증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션을 수행한다.

반강결 프레임 구조물의 시스템 신뢰성 해석 - 비닐하우스를 중심으로 - (Structural System Reliability Analysis of Semi-rigid Connected Frame - Focused on Plastic Greenhouse -)

  • Recently, the trend in structural analysis and design is moving towards the development of reliable system. The reliability-based method defines various limit states related to usability and failure, thereby enabling multiple levels of design according to the importance of a structure. Meanwhile, an actual structure is composed of a set of several elements, and particularly, a frame type is composed of a system in which the members are connected each other. At this time, the actual connection between members is in a semi-rigid condition, not in complete rigid or hinged. This semi-rigid is found in several structures, especially in agricultural facilities designed with lightweight materials. In this study, a system reliability analysis technique for frame structure was established, and applied to an analysis of the semi-rigid connection. Various conditions of correlation were applied to reflect the connectivity between members, and through this, the limitations of existing structural analysis method and the behavioral characteristics of structure were analyzed. The failure probability of the frame member component and the overall structure system was significantly different in consideration of the semi-rigid connection. In addition, it was evaluated that the behavior of structure can be more accurately analyzed if the correlation according to the position of members in a system is further investigated.

  • '데이터 경제(Data Economy)'의 기폭제 역할을 한 코로나시대를 맞이하여 모든 일상은 디지털 형태로 급속하게 전환되고 있다. 디지털 데이터의 양과 질적은 급속하게 증가하고 있다. 국내 데이터 산업은 다양한 데이터 인력이 필요하지만, 양질의 데이터 인력은 여전히 부족한 실정이다. 수요가 많은 데이터 인력은 개발 인력이지만, 데이터 산업의 부가가치를 높이기 위해서 데이터 비즈니스 인력이 필요하다. 데이터 비즈니스 인력 중에서 높은 핵심적인 가치를 창출하는 데이터 트레이드 매니저의 역할이 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 데이터 트레이드 메니저의 직무 정의, 필요한 지식 및 기술, 양성 교육 과정에 필요한 교육 내용 등을 델파이 연구를 통해서 도출한다. 연구 결과의 유효성을 파악하기 위하여 전문가와 직업 수요자를 대상으로 데이터 트레이드 메니저의 직업 안착 가능성을 검증한다. 본 연구는 데이터 인력 양성에 근거가 되는 교육 모델의 이론적 근거로 활용될 수 있고, 향후 인력 양성 정책 수립에 활용될 수 있다.

포스트 코로나 시기 농촌 거주 노인의 호흡기감염 예방 프로그램 개발: 보건진료 전담공무원 대상 델파이 기법 (Development of a Respiratory Infection Prevention Program for the Rural Elderly in the Post COVID-19 Era: A Study Using Delphi Method of Community Health Practitioners)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a respiratory infection prevention program for the rural elderly in the post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) era. Methods: The Delphi method was used to validate the contents of the program. Two rounds of Delphi surveys and one individual interview were conducted on four subjects and 16 categories with nine experts. Content validity was calculated using the content validity ratio (CVR) and coefficient of variation (CV). Results: This study verified the content validity of the existing program components, such as respiratory infection prevention characteristics, cough etiquette, correct hand washing, oral hygiene, correct tooth brushing, and exercise by walking. The study comprised 28 categories covering seven subjects, including the provision of knowledge and information about COVID-19, environmental management for respiratory infection prevention, and exercise training for immunity enhancement. Conclusion: This Delphi study examined the respiratory infection prevention program that was redesigned for the post-COVID-19 era and confirmed the validity of the educational contents. The findings of this study suggest that the program can be used practically for the prevention of respiratory infection among the rural elderly.

The Effect of Performance Feedback on Firms' Decision to Form an International Strategic Alliance and Performance in the Korean Manufacturing Industry

  • Purpose - International strategic alliance has been regarded as a strategic decision made by firms' managerial problems and ensure performance growth. From the perspective of the proactive behavior for changing strategies in a global market, this study aims to identify whether performance feedback influences firms' decisions to pursue strategic alliances. This study examines the effects of performance feedback on performance when firms use strategic alliances. Design/methodology - To analyze the impact of performance feedback on forming an international strategic alliance, this study adopt the concept of performance feedback to develop a research model and our hypotheses. Thus, this study used a two-stage least squares unbalanced panel data analysis with random effects. This study is based on 24,543 observations from Korean manufacturing firms from 2007 to 2016. Findings - The results show that firms pursue the formation of strategic alliances more actively, if their past financial and R&D performance are lower than their aspiration level, based on the result of performance feedback. An in split sample analysis for examining the effect of a firm's technology sophistication based on the OECD's classification, negative innovation performance discrepancy has positive effects on the probability of international alliance in high-tech and medium-high-tech industries. Financial performance also improves when a firm decides to form a strategic alliance based on the results of performance feedback. Originality/value - This research extends recent efforts to better understand the effect of performance feedback on firms' performance when they use strategic alliances. These findings suggest that the CEOs and managers of firms should consider the performance feedback perspective when deciding to pursue a strategic alliance to improve performance. In other words, the decision-makers in a firm must analyze and consider various complex variables inside and outside the firm and expand such subjects of examination to more complex and dynamic factors.

Influence of Annealing Temperature on Crystal Orientation of Electrodeposited Sb2Se3 Thin-Film Photovoltaic Absorbers

  • This study demonstrates a different approach method to fabricate antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) thin-films for the solar cell applications. As-deposited Sb2Se3 thin-films are fabricated via electrodeposition route and, subsequently, annealed in the temperature range of 230 ~ 310℃. Cyclic voltammetry is performed to investigate the electrochemical behavior of the Sb and Se ions. The deposition potential of the Sb2Se3 thin films is determined to be -0.6 V vs. Ag/AgCl (in 1 M KCl), where the stoichiometric composition of Sb2Se3 appeared. It is found that the crystal orientations of Sb2Se3 thin-films are largely dependent on the annealing temperature. At an annealing temperature of 250 ℃, the Sb2Se3 thin-film grew most along the c-axis [(211) and/or (221)] direction, which resulted in the smooth movement of carriers, thereby increasing the carrier collection probability. Therefore, the solar cell using Sb2Se3 thin-film annealed at 250 ℃ exhibited significant enhancement in JSC of 10.03 mA/cm2 and a highest conversion efficiency of 0.821 % because of the preferred orientation of the Sb2Se3 thin film.

Performance Estimation of KPST to GPS Time Offset for GNSS Interoperability to Increase Navigational Performance

  • In order to increase the practical use and navigational application performance of the Korean Positioning System (KPS), it is required to provide interoperability with other Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This kind of interoperability can be obtained by broadcasting the time offset between KPS and GNSS using a KPS navigation message. With the assumption that KPS Time (KPST) will be generated by the similar method and equipment of UTC(KRIS), the overall behavior of KPST will be close to that of UTC(KRIS). Therefore, the time offset between KPST and GPS Time (GPST) is estimated by using UTC(KRIS) instead of KPST because KPST can not available at the present time. In this paper, we describe the estimation results of the KPS to GPS Time Offset (KGTO) obtained by using a GNSS time transfer receiver which reference inputs are fed from UTC(KRIS). The estimated KGTO performance is compared to the time offset between UTC(KRIS) and UTC(USNO) which is used to generate GPST and considered as the real GPST. The time offset between UTC(KRIS) and UTC(USNO) is obtained by using the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) Circular T report. From the results, it is observed that KGTO can be estimated under 10 ns with the assumption that KPST will be generated by a similar method of UTC(KRIS) generation.
