  • The Jacobian matrix of the equations of motion of a system using velocity transformation technique is derived via variation methods to apply the implicit integration algorithm, DASSL. The concept of generalized coordinate partitioning is used to parameterize the constraint set with independent generalized coordinates. DASSL is applied to determine independent generalized coordinates and velocities. Dependent generalized coordinates, velocities, accelerations and Lagrange multipliers are explicitly retained in the formulation to satisfy all of the governing kinematic and dynamic equations. The derived Jacobian matrix of a system is proved to be valid and accurate both analytically and through solution of numerical examples.

  • Based on the Exp-function method and a suitable transformation, new generalized solitonary solutions including free parameters of the MDI and Sawada-Kotera equations with variable coefficients are obtained, form which solitary wave solutions and periodic solutions including some known solutions reported in open literature are derived as special cases. The free parameters in the obtained generalized solitonary solutions might imply some meaningful results in the physical models. It is shown that the Exp-function method provides a very effective and important new method for nonlinear evolution equations with variable coefficients.

  • This paper presents an algorithm which seeks steady-state equilibrium positions of constrained multibody systems driven by constant generalized speeds. Since the relative coordinates are employed, the constraint equations at cut joints are incorporated into the formulation. The proposed algorithm leads to nonlinear equations that need to be solved iteratively. This algorithm should satisfy both types of conditions: the force equilibrium equations and the kinematic constraint equations. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, two numerical examples are solved and the results are compared with those of a commercial program. This method, compared to the conventional method of using dynamic analysis, has the advantage of computational efficiency and stability.

  • We obtain, in using generalized norms, some stability results for a very general system of di erential equations using the method of cone-valued Lyapunov funtions and we obtain necessary and/or sufficient conditions for the uniformly asymptotic stability of the nonlinear differential system.

  • Euler method is generalized to solve the system of nonlinear differential equations. The generalization is carried out by taking a special constant matrix S so that exp(tS) can be exactly computed. Such a matrix S is extracted from the Jacobian matrix of the given problem. Stability of the generalized Euler process is discussed. It is shown that the generalized Euler process is comparable to the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. We also exemplify that the important qualitative and geometric features of the underlying dynamical system can be recovered by the generalized Euler process.

  • A local convergence analysis of Newton's method for perturbed generalized equations is provided in a Banach space setting. Using center Lipschitzian conditions which are actually needed instead of Lipschitzian hypotheses on the $Fr\'{e}chet$-derivative of the operator involved and more precise estimates under less computational cost we provide a finer convergence analysis of Newton's method than before [5]-[7].

  • We investigate the influence of subjects or observations on regression coefficients of generalized estimating equations using the influence function and the derivative influence measures. The influence function for regression coefficients is derived and its sample versions are used for influence analysis. The derivative influence measures under certain perturbation schemes are derived. It can be seen that the influence function method and the derivative influence measures yield the same influence information. An illustrative example in longitudinal data analysis is given and we compare the results provided by the influence function method and the derivative influence measures.

  • The existence of a bounded generalized solution on the real line for a nonlinear functional evolution problem of the type $$ (FDE) x'(t) + A(t,x_t)x(t) \ni 0, t \in R $$ in a general Banach spaces is considered. It is shown that (FDE) has a bounded generalized solution on the whole real line with well-known Crandall and Pazy's result and recent results of the functional differential equations involving the operator A(t).
