The field of critical care medicine has flourished, but an unfortunate result of improved patient survival in the intensive care unit is the occurrence of certain acquired neuromuscular disorders. During the last two decades, various neuromuscular disorders were recognized as common causes of weakness occurring in critically ill patients. The two most common disorders are an acute quadriplegic myopathy predominantly associated with the use of intravenous corticosteroids and neuromuscular junction blocking agents and severe systemic illness termed critical illness myopathy(CIM), and an axonal sensorimotor polyneuropathy termed critical illness polyneuropathy. I will review briefly about general components of the CIM.

An empirical Bayesian approach is discussed for estimation of characteristics from the two-way balanced rotation sampling design which includes U.S. Current Population Survey and Canadian Labor Force Survey as special cases. An empirical Bayesian estimator is derived for monthly effect under presence of two types of biases and correlations It is shown that the marginal distribution of observation provides more general correlation structure than that frequentist has assumed. Consistent estimators are derived for hyper-parameters in Normal priors.

This paper studies the structure and reliability of homogeneous s-coherent multistate system. We describe efficiency of inclusion-exclusion algorithm and pivotal decomposition algorithm for reliability calculation of 2-states system which developed in (Lee 1999) ［10］. We extend our method, applied in ［10］, to the case when components of the system are given multi-states. As an application, the high pressure injection system of a pressurized water reactor is modeled as a multistate system composed of homogeneous s-coherent multistate subsystems. And Several examples are illustrated.

The article is devoted to exhibit some general properties of strong chain recurrent set and strong chain transitive components for a continuous map f on a compact metric space X. We investigate the relation between the weak shadowing property and strong chain transitivity. It is shown that a continuous map f from a compact metric space X onto itself with the average shadowing property is strong chain transitive.

This paper proposed a Web-based training service for product data management by supporting an integrated product data management system, various technical documents. and efficient communication systems. It also supports a general product development process and a consistent product data model that enable participants to experience management of consistent product information during the product development life cycle. The Web based environment of the service also provides participants with a collaborative workplace with other participants and a Web portal for all the components of the service.

The connectivity problem is a fundamental problem in graph theory. The best known algorithm to solve the connectivity problem on general graphs with n vertices and m edges takes $O(K(G)mn^{1.5})$ time, where K(G) is the vertex connectivity of G. In this paper, an efficient algorithm is designed to solve vertex connectivity problem, which takes $O(n^2)$ time and O(n) space for a trapezoid graph.

Warranty cost usually involves complex factors paticularly when the product concerned consists of a great deal of parts. In spite of that it can be assessed by means of rather simple mathematical expression, it is possible to realistically appraise the sensitivity to any type of quality policy. This paper thus presents the mathematical concept related to the warranty cost and the general relationship showing that quality policy can be established in connection with the economic quality level.

It these experiments, five kinds of Korean made coffee and three kind of foreign made coffee were analysed using gas chromatography after steam distillation. The results were as following: 1. In general the sample contained light aroma(carbohydrate derivatives), medium aroma(purin derivatives) and heavy aroma(furan dervatives). 2. More light aroma and medium aroma were found in freezing dried coffee than in spraying dried coffee. 3. Korean sample contained lignter aroma than that of foreign ones.

The content of sugar in human milk was almost twice as much as that in cow's milk. The content of ash in cow's milk was twice as much as that in human milk. Cow's milk had a greater proportion of sodium than human milk. the ratio of P/Ca in human milk was as much lower than that in cow's milk. Cow's milk had more Cu than human milk.

The purpose of this paper is to propose the draft guidelines of seismic isolation design of Liquid Metal Reactor (LMR) using high damping laminated rubber bearings. The scopes of guidelines include design requirements of a seismically isolated system and components, seismic isolator, isolation system, interface system between seismic isolation and non-seismic isolation part, qualification and acceptance tests of seismic isolator, seismic isolation reliability, and seismic safety and monitoring system. Proposed guidelines shall be revised to extend to general design guideline for nuclear facilities by further research and discussions.
