  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the preference of colors in housing spaces by different type of personality and color preference by classifying dwellers various characteristics by MBTI to obtain basic informations for the color plan that satisfies their inner desire. The results of this study are as followed. Firstly, we could say about the color distribution of living spaces like that. The ceiling and general wall showed that N(white) systems and YR of bright tone was mostly distributed. The color of floor showed that the calm tone of YR was mostly distributed. Secondly, as for the favored colors of finishing material at each space, the biggest distribution of preference color was found as N(white) group(series) in case of ceilings. As for general walls, bright tone of N(white) group showed most in living rooms. In case of that of the floor, it showed the largest distribution of calm tone of YR. Point wall was preferred bright and brilliant in various kinds of color. Thirdly, as in favor of colors of closing materials, sensible types(S) are concentrated on common color groups, on the other hand, intuition types(N) prefer color groups of various kinds not only general preferred colors.

Especially patients with chronic diseases often have depressed mood to take pills for their disease treatment. Therefore we evaluate the possibility of their color preference to pharmacotherapy in good way which increases the compliance of pharmacotherapy. We performed this study by a Questionnaire survey for total 150 agreed patients at K University hospital from Aug 7 to Sep 30, 2014. Questionnaire survey was performed to choose color of providing color kit (11 different color range kit) depend on each 16 questions which asked the patient characteristics, health condition, general color preference, color preference for medicine and expectation for drug compliance. In results, most preferred color was blue (20%), whereas disliked color was black (30%) in general life. However, most preferred color for pill was white (32%), for syrup was also white (31%) or orange (28%), and for vitamin was yellow (47%). When we asked the possibility of increasing compliance, if the current taking pill color will be changed for your preference color like a candy bar, 50.4% of respondents marked 4 or 5 of like-scale expressing positive opinion on it. In conclusion, compliance is very important to succeed the treating disease and may apply the psychologic application such as each patient color preference for drug compliance in the future.

(3) In the color preference tendency survey, hue PB was generally the most highly preferred, in details, younger generation preferred B and R while older generation preferred G. The survey also showed high value and chroma were preferred, while female and younger generation preferred high value of 9.0 and low chroma close to achromatic color, which presented older generation preferred vivid color.

  • Color is one of the perch properties. This study was conducted to investigate the general behaviors and perching behaviors in laying hens under different group size (stocking density), and to understand the perch color (black, white or brown) preference of hens during the night. A total of 390 Hyline Brown laying hens was used, and randomly allocated to three treatments: individual group (G1), group of four hens (G4), and group of eight hens (G8), respectively. There were 30 replicates in each group. The hens in G1, G4 and G8 groups were put into the test cages in which three colored perches were simultaneously provided and allowed for four days of habituation in the new cages. Hens behaviors were recorded using cameras with infrared light sources for the following periods: 8:00 to 10:00; 14:00 to 16:00; 19:00 to 21:00; 23:30 to 0:30 on the fifth day after transferring the birds into the test cages. The behaviors of hens in every time period were collected and analyzed, and hens positions on the test perches during mid-night were recorded. The results showed that, group size (stocking density) had significant effect on most of the general behaviors of laying hens except exploring behavior. There were great differences in most of the general behaviors during different time periods. In the preference test of perch color during night, the hens showed no clear preference for white, black or brown perches. For perching behaviors, perching time and frequency of transferring from one perch to another was higher on black perches than on white or brown perches in individual groups. In G4 groups, the hens spent more time on white perches during daytime and more frequent transferring during night compared with black or brown perches. The frequency of jumping upon and down from white perches was higher in G8 groups. It can be concluded that although the group sizes in the cage significantly affected most of the general behaviors, we found that no preference of perch color was shown by the caged laying hens in the different group sizes tested in this study.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the previous color studies. A number of publications and journals were reviewed and analyzed carefully. The results of review and analysis were as follows : There were many different subjects in color studies and they were usually categorized into ten fundamental groups : color preferences, color image/symbol/association of ideas, emotion and colors, image making with colors, colors related with consumers' decision making, traditional colors, semantic color description, color plan of apparel merchandise, influential factors on colors, and color coordination preferences. In general, the color preference studies are conducted most actively, and they are followed by the studies of color image/symbol/association of ideas and traditional colors. In the previous studies on the color preferences, they provided sufficient amount of information on the preferred colors and the preferred apparel colors. however, they lacked in providing appropriate explanation on how these color preferences were related with colors in fashion. Also, there have been no thorough studies that questioned the reliability of measurement methods for obtaining color preference data. The authors also realized that it was extremely difficult to find any related publications on the studies that focus various influential variables on the disagreement between the preferred color and preferred apparel color. Thus, this study directed the future studies to solve the problem discussed above.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine color preferences in housing spaces according to different types of personalities and color preference according to classifying dwellers various characteristics by MBTI to obtain basic information for the color plan that satisfies their desires. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, in terms of the color distribution of living spaces, for the ceiling and general walls, results showed that N (white) systems and YR of bright tones were mostly distributed. For the color of the floor, results showed that the calm tone of YR was mostly distributed. Secondly, for the favored colors of finishing materials in each space, the greatest distribution of preference color was found to be the N (white) group (series) in the case of ceilings, For general walls, the bright tone of the N (white) group was the most common in living rooms, and the bright tone of RP was used mostly in couples' rooms and girls' rooms. The bright tone of B and PB were found mostly in boys' bedrooms. In the case of the floor color, results showed the largest distribution was the calm tone of YR. For point walls, the preference was for various kinds of bright and brilliant colors. Thirdly, we could determine that extroverts (E) strongly disliked black and grey, while introverts (I) strongly disliked red as well as black and grey. Those who favored colors of closing materials were the sensible types (S) where colors were concentrated in common color groups. On the other hand, intuition types (N) preferred color groups of various kinds, not only the typically preferred colors.
