젠더와 건강 : 성인지적 보건정책을 위한 시론 (A Review on Gender and Health for Gender-Sensitive Health Policy)

  • This review paper is to provide theoretical background and empirical evidence for gender sensitive health policy in Korea. We explore how sex and gender are implicated in health disparities. After reviewing major concepts regarding sex, gender, and health, the study moves on to describe the ways in which gender interacts with other social determinants (socioeconomic position, workplace, stress, social support, and violation) to show disparate health outcomes. Next, suggested health models considering gender and social process are introduced. The article concludes by suggesting the necessity of gender sensitive policy consorted with social programs in tackling health equity.

성인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업실태 분석 및 효과 연구 (Studies of the Analysis of Class Condition and the Effects of Instruction Using Gender-Sensitive Teaching Strategies)

  • 본 논문에서는 공과대학에서 성인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업실태를 분석하였고, 성인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업이 공과대학 학생의 수업 만족도와 자기주도성에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 성인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업실태를 분석한 결과, 거의 모든 항목에서 실험집단의 평균이 통제집단의 평균보다 높은 편이었다. 성인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업의 효과를 검증한 결과, 성 인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업은 전체 실험집단 공대학생의 수업 만족도에 통계적으로 긍정적인 영향을 미치지않는 것으로 나타났지만, 실험집단 가운데 B1 실험집단의 수업 만족도에 통계적으로 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 성인지적 교수전략을 활용한 수업은 실험집단 공대학생의 자기주도성 하위요인인 학습전략적 측면과 실험집단 공대남학생의 자기주도성 총점에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 실험집단인 B1집단 공대학생과 공대남학생의 자기주도성에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다.

보건 분야 국가 연구개발 사업에서의 성 인지성 강화 방안 (Searching for a New Policy of Gender Sensitive National R&D Projects in the field of Health)

  • 성 인지적인 연구란 연구 주체인 연구자 구성에서의 성적 불균형, 과학기술 연구결과의 수혜자들의 성적 불균형, 그리고 연구대상의 성적 불균형을 시정한 연구를 의미한다. 이 논문에서는 성 인지적인 연구란 무엇이며, 유럽 및 미국 등에서 성 인지적 연구들이 어떻게 제도화되고 있는지를 살펴보고, 이들 경험에 비추어 한국의 보건 분야 국가 연구개발사업의 성 인지성을 분석해본다. 성 인지 연구는 NIH의 "임상연구에 여성과 소수자들을 피 실험자로서 포함시키는 것에 관한 가이드라인"의 제정, 캐나다 GSBA 수단의 개발, 유럽연합 FP 프로그램의 성별영향평가를 통해 제도적인 기반을 갖추어가고 있다. 국내 국가연구개발 사업은 연구개발 사업에서 여성 연구자의 참여가 낮을 뿐만 아니라, 연구 주제에서 성 특이성들이 고려되지 못하고 있으며, 연구결과의 수혜자로서 여성의 특이성을 고려하지 않는 연구수행 등으로 성 인지성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 성별영향평가가 제도화되고 있는 시점에서 성 인지적인 연구가 강화될 수 있도록 여러가지 제도적인 정책을 모색할 필요가 있다.

The Examination of Subgroup-Sensitive Risks and Needs among Delinquent Adolescents in the US

  • While there is growing evidence regarding the subgroup-sensitive nature of risk factors among delinquent adolescents, researchers have paid little attention to the tracking of risks and needs by subgroups (e.g., gender, ethnicity, and the timing of onset for delinquency) among youth who are currently involved in the juvenile court system. Therefore, greater empirical attention directed toward subgroup-sensitive risk factors experienced by delinquent adolescents is thought to be both timely and necessary. A final convenience sample of 2167 court-involved adolescents in the US was used to specify subgroup-sensitive risks and needs. The results demonstrated that there were various levels of risks according to subgroups associated with gender, ethnicity, and onset for delinquency group. The findings of this study add to the extant literature on delinquency by demonstrating the importance of considering subgroups associated with gender, ethnicity, and the timing of onset for delinquency when practicing treatment or intervention programs with delinquent adolescents.

여자대학생의 성역할정체감과 그 유형의 다양성 (Gender Role Identity of Female College Students and the Diversity of its Types)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the facets of gender role identity as reported by several disciplines undergraduate female college students, and to confirm the characteristics and differences according to the types. Methods: A Q sort methodology was utilized to gather responses to gender role identity. Forty subjects' responses were analyzed by QUANL PC program. Results: The subject responses were classified into four gender role patterns: 1) paternity-sensitive type, 2) conviction-sensitive type, 3) sensibility-inhibitive type and 4) sensibility-expressive type. Conclusion: The findings add to the understanding of women college students and their perception of their gender role identify. Further studies need to be done to understand how the four patterns relate to success or satisfaction for female college students.

임금근로자의 산업재해에 대한 성인지적 분석 (The Gender Sensitive Analysis of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses of Employees)

  • The statistics of occupational injuries and illnesses is one of the most important indicators of worker's safety and health in the field of occupational safety and health. The conventional statistics was produced without consideration of gender difference. This study was planned to investigate the difference of occupational injuries and illnesses by gender because that recently female workers was increased through the change of industrial structure such as from manufacturing dominated to service dominated structure. Statistics of occupational injuries and illnesses collected by workmen's compensation insurance system that have no information about gender composition of population. Economically active population survey was used to calculated the rate of occupational injuries and illnesses by gender. The distribution of estimated rate of occupational injuries and illnesses by industry, occupation and the type of accident were different between male and female employees, but those by the size of enterprise, age of the injured, the duration of the first recuperation, and job tenure were similar between male and female employees. This study has shown that gender sensitive approach may be applied to policy of occupational safety and health because that gender neutral perspective may not discover the fact of gender specific problems.

공학 수업 동영상 분석을 통한 교수전략 활용 실태 (An Analysis on Instructional Strategies of Engineering Classes)

  • The purposes of this article are to analyze the conditions of using instructional strategies and using gender sensitive instructional strategies at engineering classes of K University. Qualitative analysis methods were adapted. To achieve the purposes, 35 hours of engineering classes from 11 professors from 9th to 20th of November 2009 were videotaped and analyzed. The research findings were discussed by the checklists for general and gender sensitive the instructional strategies which were recommended for the managing the better classes. Students are influenced by professors not only knowledge and skills but also values and attitudes. Professors who take gender sensitive instructional strategies are expected to give good influence the women students.

부산지역 빈곤층의 빈곤 구성 요소의 성차 (A Study of the Gender Differences' Composition Affecting Poverty in Busan)

  • This study examined the gender differences' composition affecting poverty in Busan and possible strategies for overcoming poverty. It was found that there were both common and differentiating points regarding gender in poverty situations. Poverty stricken women, tended to be older and less educated than their male counterparts. In the case of men, they were more likely to have physical disabilities than women. There were more women compared to men when regarding divorce and separation due to the death of a spouse as contributing to poverty. Women estimated that it was much easier to overcome their poverty situation as they were younger and had more income. However, there were gender differences in regard to actual re-establishment. For men, education level was the most important variable for overcoming poverty while for women; the existence of a spouse was the important variable. These results suggest that a gender sensitive approach is necessary to address and find solutions to the poverty issue. Therefore, it is hoped that this study's findings may provide valuable information and support for changes to the welfare policy.

과학기술 젠더 불균형: 현황과 과제 (Gender-mainstreaming through Gender-sensitivity in Science and Technology)

  • 과학기술의 젠더 불균형을 개선하기 위한 정책적 시도가 이루어져왔음에도 불구하고 한국 과학기술계에서 여성은 여전히 과소대표되고 있다. 과학기술 젠더 불균형 개선을 위해서는 인력 구조의 측면에서만이 아니라 조직 문화, 교육 제도, 연구 환경에 걸친 다양한 분야에서 젠더 포괄성이 성공적으로 증진된 사례를 모아 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 과학기술계의 젠더 불균형을 개선하기 위해 과학기술 교육, 연구, 직업적 환경의 전반에 걸쳐 시도된 국외의 성공적 사례들을 수집하였다. 논문의 주된 논의는 다음과 같다. 우선 성공적인 젠더 다양성 증진 사례들이 과학기술계의 제도적, 문화적 환경에 대한 성인지(gender-sensitivity)적 관점에 기반을 두고 있음을 논의하고자 한다. 다음으로 성인지 관점에서 출발한 젠더 불균형 개선 시도들이 일부 여성과학기술자들의 지위 향상을 넘어 과학기술의 개선에 기여할 수 있음을 논의할 것이다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 한국의 과학기술 젠더 불균형 개선을 위한 방안을 제시할 것이다.
