  • Two frequency synthesizers are proposed to generate a clock for a sub-sampler of an on-chip oscilloscope in this paper. These proposed frequency synthesizers are designed by using a multi-phase delayed-locked loop (DLL)-based phase selector and a fractional-N phase-locked loop (PLL), and they are analyzed by comparing simulation results of each frequency synthesizer. Two proposed frequency synthesizers are designed using a 65-nm CMOS process with a 1V supply and output the clock with the frequency of 121.15 MHz when the frequency of an input clock is 125 MHz. The designed frequency synthesizer using a multi-phase DLL-based phase selector has the area of 0.167 $mm^2$ and the peak-to-peak jitter performance of 2.88 ps when it consumes the power of 4.75 mW. The designed frequency synthesizer using a fractional-N PLL has the area of 0.662 $mm^2$ and the peak-to-peak jitter performance of 7.2 ps when it consumes the power of 1.16 mW.

  • A low-power 2.4GHz fractional-N frequency synthesizer has been designed for 2.4GHz ISM band applications such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, and WLAN. To achieve low-power characteristic, the design has been focused on the power optimization of power-hungry blocks such as VCO, prescaler, and ${\Sigma}-{\Delta}$ modulator. An NP-core type VCO is adopted to optimize both phase noise and power consumption. Dynamic D-F/Fs with no static DC current are employed in designing the low-power prescaler circuit. The ${\Sigma}-{\Delta}$ modulator is designed using a modulus mapping circuit for reducing hardware complexity and power consumption. The designed frequency synthesizer which was fabricated using a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process consumes 7.9mA from a single 1.8V supply voltage. The experimental results show that a phase noise of -118dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset, the reference spur of -70dBc at 25MHz offset, and the channel switching time of $15{\mu}s$ over 25MHz transition have been achieved. The designed chip occupies an area of $1.16mm^2$ including pads where the core area is only $0.64mm^2$.

  • A parallel flats faraction for the $3^n$ factorial experiment is symbolically written as $At = C(r\timesf)$ where $A(r\timesn)$ is of rank r. The A-matrix partitions the nonnegligible effects into $(3^{n-r}-1)/2+1$ alias sets. The $U_i$ effects in the i-th alias set are related pairwise by elements from $S_3$, the symmetric group on three symbols. For each alias set the f flats produce an $f \times u_i$ alias componet permutation matrices (ACPM) with elements from $S_3$. All the information concerning the relationships among levels of the effects is contained in the ACPM.

  • Cross sections and recoil properties have been measured for the fragments produced in the interaction of silver with 40 MeV/nucleon $^{14}N$ ions using off-line ${\gamma}$-ray spectroscopy. The data were used to obtain the isobaric-yield distribution, the mass yield distribution, and the fractional momentum transfer. The values of forward-to-backward ratios were measured to be very large, indicating that substantial momentum transfer occurs at this energy regime. The results are compared with other studies of the interaction of silver with intermediate-energy heavy ions.

  • Let ${\alpha}$ > 0 be a real number and $(s_{\alpha}(n))_{n{\geq}1}$ be the lexicographically greatest Sturmian word of slope ${\alpha}$. We investigate Dirichlet series of the form ${\sum}^{\infty}_{n=1}s_{\alpha}(n)n^{-s}$. To do this, a generalization of Euler's totient function is required. For a real ${\alpha}$ > 0 and a positive integer n, an arithmetic function ${\varphi}{\alpha}(n)$ is defined to be the number of positive integers m for which gcd(m, n) = 1 and 0 < m/n < ${\alpha}$. Under a condition Re(s) > 1, this paper establishes an identity ${\sum}^{\infty}_{n=1}s_{\alpha}(n)n^{-S}=1+{\sum}^{\infty}_{n=1}{\varphi}_{\alpha}(n)({\zeta}(s)-{\zeta}(s,1+n^{-1}))n^{-s}$.

  • Five buffaloes kept in normal ambient temperature ($30^{\circ}C$) showed no significant changes in the heart rate, respiratory rate, packed cell volume, plasma constituents and renal hemodymics during intravenous infusion of urea for 4 h. The rate of urine flow, fractional urea excretion, urinary potassium excretion and osmolar clearance significantly decreased while the renal urea reabsorption markedly increased during urea infusion. The decrease of fractional potassium excretion was concomitant with the reduction of the rate of urine flow and urine pH. In animals exposed to heat ($40^{\circ}C$) the rectal temperature heart rate and respiratory rate significantly increased while no significant changes in GFR and ERPF were observed. An intravenous infusion of urea in heat exposed animals caused the reduction of the rate of urine flow with no changes in renal urea reabsorption, urine pH and fractional electrolyte excretions. During heat exposure, there were marked increases in concentrations of total plasma protein and plasma creatinine whereas plasma inorganic phosphorus concentration significantly decreased. It is concluded that an increase in renal urea reabsorption during urea infusion in buffaloes kept in normal ambient temperature depends on the rate of urine flow which affect by an osmotic diuretic effect of electrolytes. The limitation of renal urea reabsorption in heat stressed animals would be attributed to an increases in either plasma pool size of nitrogenous substance or body metabolism.

  • Wolfe and Mond-Weir type duals for multiobjective con-trol problems are formulated. Under pseudo-invexity/quasi-invexity assumptions of the functions involved, weak and strong duality the-orems are proved to relate efficient solutions of the primal and dual problems.
