In this study, an application method of critical strains concept for tunnels' safety by using the values of measured displacements which are obtained in the field is discussed. The aim is to: (1) study on the engineering meanings of critical strains concept by reviewing the previous researches and application examples with measured displacement values; (2) study on the engineering reasonability of critical strains concept with the view point of a tunnel engineering and a geotechnical engineering; (3) study on the features of ground deformation due to tunneling and reciprocal relation between total displacement and measured displacement; (4) evaluate a tunnel safety by using domestic measurements collected in the field; and (5) re-evaluate the control criteria which were previously used in the field, with the view point of critical strains concept. Consequently, it was confirmed that critical strains in the ground has a reasonability and a possibility of unified or common concept with the view point of a tunnel engineering.

Conventional potential concept does not allow different currents before and after the electric load. Experimental examples in case of bioloads show a lot of different currents before and after the bioload, which means that the true potential concept is not the conventional concept from Coulomb attraction energy but the new concept from Gibb's free energy. Gibb's free energy is a kind of potential heat energies and also they are rotating electromagnetic waves. We might think that electric current is not a flow of electrons but a flow of rotating electromagnetic waves, which induces electrons' vibrations. A new measuring method for integral electrical power is suggested for the new Gibb's free energy concept.

In this study, I consider Brousseau's theory of didactical situation focused on 'the development process of situations', and analyze some examples of didactical situation related to instruction of 'decimal' concept. To elaborate situations which really make a mathematical notion function, we have to analyze the essence of the notion, and to construct the situation which can be developed to situations of 'action-formulation-validation - institutionalization'. From this view, it can be said that the instruction of decimal concept in our country mainly lies in the situations of 'action' and 'institutionalization'. we have to provide more situations of 'formulation' and 'institutionalization' which can connect 'action' and 'institutionalization'.

In this paper, a new characterization concept is introduced for rings with identity, called the identical characteristic. Some general results are obtained for various ring classes and illustrated by several examples.

This study is focused on the concept and spatial organization of bifurcation. After discussing the concept of bifurcation used in Borges' literature and Deleuze's Fold philosophy, case examples in contemporary architecture are analysed to comparatively investigate the relationship between the concept and space. In Deleuze's philosophy, bifurcation as well as pleats, inflection are used to form the world of fold that goes to infinity while, in Borges' literature, the structure of bifurcation is the key method to create the labyrinth of time. There are various projects in contemporary architecture based on the Deleuzian concept of bifurcation. Rem Koolhaas's Two Libraries for Jussieu University and UN Studio's Arnhem Central are selected and researched for further comparison study. In Jussieu project, the bifurcating spatial organization is 'intentionally' used to construct the indeterminant space whereas in Arnhem Central, bifurcation can be found in both the ever-bifurcating design process as well as the final spatial organization'unintentionally'generated from the process. This study is concluded with the comparative analysis between the representation and actualization of a concept that are crucially different.

이 연구에서는 과정중심평가의 특징이 배포된 과학과 과정중심평가 예시 문항 자료들에서 어떻게 구현되고 있는지를 분석하였다. 선행연구 리뷰를 통해 과정중심평가의 특징에 대한 분석 관점을 6가지로 추출하였다. 그 분석틀을 이용하여 시도 교육청 및 교육과정평가원에서 개발한 과정중심평가 장학자료의 초등 과학과 평가문항이 과정중심평가의 특징을 어떤 방법으로 반영하고 있는지 기술하였다. 연구 결과, 과정중심 평가의 특징은 초등 과학과 평가 문항 예시 자료들에 형식적으로 반영되어 있는 경우가 많았고, 과정중심 평가의 특징이 초등 과학과 평가 문항에 두드러지게 나타나지 않는 경우도 있었다. 개발된 예시문항들은 기존 과학과 수행평가 문항의 형태와 동일한 유형, 서·논술형 유형, 실험관찰과 유사한 유형으로 구분되었다.

The main purpose of this work is to suggest a new approach to teaching general topology to undergraduate students. First, we change the order of contents. Usually, we introduce definitions, examples, theorems, and problems in this order. But, showing familiar examples of some concept of topology prior to the definition of one is the best method so far as I know from teaching experience of topology, which students feel very hard because of its abstractness. For more efficiency, mathematics-clubs each consisting of three or four students in topology course are established. This makes students very positive in topology class.

The character 'yeong(營)' has been used mixed with 'yeong(榮)' from the time of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" up to now. One word can have a various meaning according to the context. So it is difficult to make a precise definition. Moreover as the words in Korean medicine are abstruse, it is necessary to classify and make the meaning straight with the words like 'yeong(營)' and 'yeong(榮)'. This study is focused on classifying the meanings and examples of 'yeong(營)' and 'yeong(榮)' by the dictionary definition, examples in medical classics, examples in "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)". From this study, we get to know 'yeong(營)' and 'yeong(榮)' was used mixed with the concept of 'yeong-gi(營氣)' which means 'transporting nutrition'. The conclusion of this study is, from the dictionary definition and the aspect of oriental medicine physiology, using 'yeong(營)' is more reasonable than 'yeong(榮)' in both cases.

P-values are often perceived as measurements of degree of compatibility between the current data and the hypothesized model. In this paper, a new concept of Bayesian p-values is proposed and studied under the non-informative prior distributions, which can be thought as the Bayesian counterparts of the classical p-values in the sense of using the concept of significance level. The performances of the proposed Bayesian p-values are compared with those of the classical p-values through several examples.

In this paper we introduce a new concept of weakly positive upper orthant dependence POD of hitting times of stochastic processes. This concept is weaker than the positively orthant dependent and it is closed under a certain statistical operations of W POD ordering. Examples are given to illustrate these concepts.
