간호사의 감정노동이 소진에 미치는 영향: 사회지능과 감성지능의 조절 효과 중심으로 (Effects of Emotional Labor on Burnout in Nurses: Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Social Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of emotional labor on burnout in nurses focusing the moderating effects of social intelligence and emotional intelligence. Methods: Data were collected in March 2015 by self administered questionnaires among 392 nurses in eight hospitals located in Busan, Gyeongsangnam-do. Data were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression, hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Study results shown (a) emotional labor showed a positive correlation on burnout, while social intelligence and emotional intelligence showed a negative correlation on burnout, (b) emotional labor was the most influential variable on burnout, (c) social intelligence had a negative moderating effect the relationship between emotional labor and burnout, (d) emotional intelligence had a positive moderating effect the relationship between emotional labor and burnout. Conclusion: The result of the study indicate that emotional labor of nurses is positively correlated with burnout and emotional labor is to give the greatest effect on burnout, social intelligence and emotional intelligence had a moderating effects the relationship between emotional labor and burnout.

Emotional Leadership, Leader Legitimacy, and Work Engagement in Retail Distribution Industry

  • Purpose: The study examines how emotional leadership affects employee attitude towards work engagement. Leader legitimacy perception is chosen as the mediating variable to understand the effect of emotional leadership on employee work engagement. Research design, data and methodology: The research model is based on theory and empirical research findings in order to examine the mediating effect of leader legitimacy perception on the relationship between the manager's emotional leadership and employee work engagement. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among 188 employees of domestic retail distributors. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and survey data confirmed the construct, and the hypothesis was tested by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results: a) Emotional leadership has positive influence on leader legitimacy; b) Leader legitimacy is positively related to work engagement; c) Leader legitimacy mediates a positive relationship between emotional leadership and work engagement. However, there is no direct effect on work engagement (of employees) from emotional leadership standpoint. Conclusion: Based on the empirical results, implications and future research directions are discussed.

중학생의 정서적 외상경험이 인터넷·스마트폰 중독 성향에 미치는 영향 : 자아존중감의 조절효과 (The Effect of Middle School Students' Emotional Trauma to Internet·Smart Phone Addiction : The Moderating Effect of Self-Esteem)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중학생의 정서적 외상경험이 인터넷 스마트폰중독과의 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과를 검증하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 정서적 외상경험을 독립변인, 자아존중감을 조절변인, 인터넷 스마트폰중독을 종속변인으로 설정하여 조절효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구대상은 중학생 645명을 대상으로 정서적 외상경험, 자아존중감, 인터넷 스마트폰중독에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정서적 외상경험은 자아존중감과 부적 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 인터넷 스마트폰중독과는 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 분석한 결과 정서적 외상경험과 인터넷 스마트폰중독 간의 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과가 나타났다. 즉, 자아존중감의 수준에 따라 정서적 외상경험과 인터넷 스마트폰중독의 상호작용 효과가 나타났다. 이 연구의 의의로는 첫째, 정서적 외상경험이 인터넷 스마트폰 중독의 원인변인임을 확인하였다. 둘째, 청소년의 정서적 외상경험의 부정적 영향력을 줄이기 위해 자아존중감에 대한 개입이 필요함을 확인하였다.

전문간호사의 완벽주의와 소진의 관계에서 감성지능의 조절효과 (A Study on the Mediating Effect of Emotional Intelligence between Perfectionism and Burnout in Advanced Practice Nurses (APN))

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze relationships between perfectionism, burnout, and emotional intelligence in APN and to identify the mediating effect of emotional intelligence on the relationship between perfectionism and burnout. Methods: A structured self-report questionnaire was used to measure perfectionism, burnout, and emotional intelligence. Data were collected from 121 APN working in five advanced general hospitals and two general hospitals. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test, Pearson correlation and Hierarchical multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Results: Mean scores for each variable were: perfectionism 3.57 (on a 5-point scale), burnout 3.32 (on a 7-point scale), and emotional intelligence 5.00 (on a 7-point scale). Self-oriented perfectionism had a positive correlation with burnout, as did socially prescribed perfectionism. Emotional intelligence was a significant variable reducing burnout, as it also had a reverse buffering effect on the relationship between self-oriented perfectionism and burnout. Explanatory power of the final model based on variables was 34%. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest a mediating direction regarding burnout by demonstrating that emotional intelligence plays a direct and reverse buffering role to self-oriented perfectionism, which can be used to reduce burnout in APN.

아동의 정서지능과 스트레스와의 관계 (Relationships between child′s Emotional Intelligence and Stress)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between child's emotional intelligence and stress according to child's sex. The subjects for this study were 380 children of 5-6th grade selected from elementary schools in Busan. Kwak's questionnaires(1994) on child's emotional intelligence and Han, Mi-Hyun's questionnaires(1996) on child's stress were used. Statistical techniques such as Manoya, Pearson's correlation, canonical were used. The results were as follows : (1) According to sex, there were significant differences in child's emotional intelligence and stress. The girls showed higher emotional expression, emotional empathy, emotional control, and the friend-related stress than boys. The boys showed higher parent-related stress than girls. (2) There were significant negative correlations between child's emotional intelligence and stress. The children who got higher emotion intelligence perceived lower stress. (3) Among five dimensions of emotional intelligence for boy, the effective variable was emotional utilization. And among six dimensions of stress, the effective variables were home-environment stress and school-related stress. Among fine dimensions of emotional intelligence for girl, the effective variables were emotional expression and emotional recognition. And among six dimensions of stress, the effective variables were friend-related stress and parent-related stress.

간호대학생의 아동기 정서적 외상과 우울의 관계에서 대인관계능력의 조절효과 (The Moderating Effect of Interpersonal Skills on the Relationship between Childhood Emotional Trauma and Depression in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the moderating effect of interpersonal skills on the relationship between childhood emotional trauma and depression. Methods: From June to July, 2017, a convenience sample of 226 nursing students was recruited. Research data were collected through self-report questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. Results: 68.1% (154) respondents experienced emotional abuse, and 48.1% (110) emotional neglect in childhood emotional trauma. The average depression score was 10.76. There were 54.4% (123), 34.5% (78), 12.8% (29), and 7.1% (16) of respondents with mild, moderate, and severe depression, respectively. The average interpersonal skills score was 3.59. There was a significant correlation between childhood emotional trauma (emotional abuse, emotional neglect), interpersonal skills and depression. And the moderating effect of interpersonal skills on the relationship between childhood emotional neglect and depression was significant. Conclusion: Interpersonal skills play a role as a moderating variable influencing the relationship between emotional neglect of childhood emotional trauma and depression, and also reduce the effects of childhood emotional trauma on depression. When developing a depression prevention program for nursing college students, such programs should consider strategies to reduce the negative effects of childhood emotional trauma and to improve interpersonal skills.

간호사의 감정노동과 관련된 변인의 메타분석 (A Meta-analysis of the Variables related to the Emotional Labor of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The study was done to verify the effect size of the variables related to the emotional labor of nurses. Methods: A total of 47 article on variables related to the emotional labor of nurses and published from 2006 to 2014 were used for the meta-analysis. Results: Variables with the largest effect size related to emotional labor were identified as the variables of work task, organization and individual characteristics in descending order of effect size. The sub-factors with the greatest effect size in the work task variable were exhaustion and work commitment, while for organization variables, intention to change jobs had the largest effect size. For individual characteristics, physical symptoms had the largest effect size. Conclusion: The results of this study are meaningful as the first study to integrate research results on variables related to the emotional labor of Korean nurses, providing practical data for the management of emotional labor.

기혼자의 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용이 의사소통에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Emotional Clarity and Perspective-taking on Communication of Married Persons)

  • 본 연구는 기혼자를 대상으로 부부간 의사소통에 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용이 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 광주와 전남북지역의 기혼자 206명을 대상으로 의사소통, 정서인식 명확성, 조망수용 관련 설문을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 각 변인들은 상호 밀접한 상관을 보이고 있었으며, 기혼자의 의사소통에는 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용이 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치고 있음이 나타났다. 하지만 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용의 상호작용 효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 부부간 의사소통에서 자신의 정서를 명확하게 이해하고 상대의 입장에 서서 타인을 이해하는 능력인 조망수용이 이루어질 때 보다 더 긍정적이고 합리적인 의사소통이 가능하다는 것을 확인 하였다.

부모의 인성지향적 지도와 아동의 정서지능 간의 관계에 대한 자아탄력성의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effects of Children's Ego-Resilience on the Relationship between Parents' Person-Oriented Guidance and Children's Emotional Intelligence)

  • The premise underpinning this research is that cognitive evaluation is the starting point of children's emotional experience. It then went on to investigate how parents' person-oriented guidance affects children's emotional intelligence. Additionally, children's ego-resilience was analyzed as a variable that affects children's emotional intelligence and as a mediator between parents' person-oriented guidance and children's emotional intelligence. A purposive sampling was conducted in 4 elementary schools in metropolitan areas and made use of 466 students in 4th and 5th grade as research subjects. The results are summarized as follows:firstly, the more frequently parents used person-oriented guidance, the more children exhibited higher levels of ego-resilience and emotional intelligence. Secondly, vitality, peer relations, optimism, curiosity, emotional regulation, maternal person-oriented guidance were found to affect emotional intelligence in the order of relative significance of that influence. Thirdly, children's ego-resilience was found to intermediate parents' person-oriented guidance and children's emotional intelligence. In conclusion, individual children's evaluations of parental verbal stimuli was found to influence children's emotional intelligence, especially more significantly through the mediation of children's ego-resilience.

치과위생사의 소명의식과 감정노동이 재직의도에 미치는 영향 (The effects of dental hygienists' sense of calling and emotional labor on retention intention)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine factors influencing the retention intention of dental hygienists in clinical practice. Findings will assist in the development of strategies to increase their retention. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 261 dental hygienists who work at dental hospitals and clinics in the Jeollabuk-do area. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA (post-test Duncan), and multiple regressions. Results: The variable that demonstrated the largest influence on the retention intention of dental hygienists was purpose/meaning (${\beta}=0.283$), followed by transcendental calling (${\beta}=0.198$). These factors relate to the sense of calling. The third most influential variable was pay (${\beta}=0.150$). This relates to general characteristics. The fourth most influential factor was the frequency of emotion display (${\beta}=-0.112$), which relates to one of the sub-areas of emotional labor. Conclusions: In order to strengthen the retention intention of dental hygienists, diverse approaches should be implemented, with particular consideration for their sense of calling, emotional labor and pay.
