A low noise amplifier(LNA) using electro-magnetic field simulator is designed in standard 0.25um CMOS process. Integrated spiral inductor is simulated using EM field solver. Then LNA is simulated with active device, capacitor and simulated inductor by EM field solver. A S11 and S21 of -15.45dB and 17.8dB at 2.3GHz as simulation results was achieved. A Noise Figure is 2.92dB. And Measurements show a S11 and S21 of -12.4dB and 17.8dB at 2.3GHz. A Noise Figure of 3.3dB was achieved.
Although there are many photochemical images of which are censored while they are recorded, normal approaches are often applied to the restorations for them. In this case, it yields a restored image which might have serious bias. However, solutions for this problem are hardly found in the research of image restorations. This article provides a method of image restoration via EM algorithm for the censored images of which are contaminated with Gaussian noise and blur, also presents some results of simulation for artificial images censorized.
Maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs) for recursive models of categorical variables are discussed under an EM framework. Since MLEs by EM often depend on the choice of the initial values for MLEs, we explore reasonable rules for selecting the initial values for EM. Simulation results strongly support the proposed rules.
Electromagnetic forming (EMF) simulations consider 3-dimensionally coupled electromagnetic-mechanical phenomenon using LS-DYNA, therefore the calculation cost is normally expensive. In this study, a sensitivity analysis in regard to the simulation variables affecting the calculation time was carried out. The EMF experiments were conducted to form an elliptically protruding shape on a high-strength steel sheet, and it was predicted using LS-DYNA simulation. In this particular EMF simulation case, the effect of several simulation variables, viz., element size, contact condition, EM-time step interval, and re-calculation number of the EM matrices, on the shape of elliptical protrusion and the total calculation time was analyzed. As a result, reasonable values of the simulation variables between the simulation precision and calculation time were proposed, and the EMF experiments with respect to the charging voltages were successfully predicted.
This paper designs a electromagnetic-log (EM-Log) aided navigation filter for maritime environment without global navigation satellite system (GNSS). When navigation is performed for a long time, Inertial navigation system (INS)'s error gradually diverges. Therefore, an integrated navigation method is used to solve this problem. EM-Log sensor measures the velocity of the vehicle. However, since the measured velocity from EM-Log contains the speed of the sea current, the aided navigation filter is required to estimate the sea current. This paper proposes a single model filter and interacting multiple (IMM) model filter methods to estimate the sea current and analyzes the influence of the sea current model on the filter. The performance of the designed aided navigation filter is verified using a simulation and the improvement rate of the filter compared to the pure navigation is analyzed. The performance of single model filter is improved when the sea current model is correct. However, when the sea current model is incorrect, the performance decreases. On the other hands, IMM model filter methods show the stable performance compared to the single model.

In this paper, a power combiner using IPD process for SK Telecom 3-Generation (2.13 ~ 2.15 GHz) application. The Integrated Passive Device (IPD) Wilkinson power Combiner shows compact size and high performance. It is simulated by 3D Electro Magnetic (EM) simulation because of more accurate measurement result wire-bonding effects. This combiner exhibit size of $1.2mm^2$ the insertion loss of 3.6 dB, and the return loss of 10.1 dB, and isolation of more than -7.7 dB.

In this paper, the EM wave absorber was designed and fabricated for countermeasure against EMI from a ceiling of a tollgate in ETC system. We fabricated several samples in different composition ratios of MnZn-ferrite, Carbon, and CPE(Chlorinated Polyethylene). Absorption abilities were simulated in accordance with different thicknesses of the prepared absorbers and changed complex relative permittivity and permeability according to composition ratio. The optimized mixing ratio of MnZn-ferrite, Carbon, and CPE was found as 40:15:45 wt.% by experiments and simulation. Then the EM wave absorber was fabricated and tested using the simulated data. As a result, the developed EM wave absorber has the thickness of 3.3 mm and absorption ability was more than 20 dB in the case of normal incidence and more than 11 dB for the incident angle from 15 to 45 degrees at 5.8 GHz. Therefore, it was confirmed that the newly developed absorber can be used for ETC system.
Underwater vehicles use Inertial Navigation System (INS) with high-performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for high precision navigation. However, when underwater navigation is performed for a long time, the INS error gradually diverges, therefore, an integrated navigation method using auxiliary sensors is used to solve this problem. In terms of underwater vehicles, the vertical axis error is primarily compensated through Vertical Channel Damping (VCD) using a depth gauge, and an integrated navigation filter can be designed to perform horizontal axis error and sensor error correction using a speedometer such as Electromagnetic-Log (EM-Log). However, since EM-Log outputs the forward direction relative speed of the vehicle with respect to the sea and sea current, INS correction filter using this may cause a rather large error. Although it is possible to design proper filters if the exact model of the sea current is known, it is impossible to know the accurate model in reality. Therefore, this study proposes an INS/EM-Log integrated navigation filter with the function to estimate sea current using an Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filters, and the performance of this filter is analyzed through a simulation performed in various environments.

Low cost patch array antenna for high sensitivity electromagnetic(EM) sensor is presented. The operating frequency band of the antenna is 24.05~24.25 GHz. Array structure is the symmetrical pattern by Chebyshev polynomial and the feed point is located in the middle of the array. Also, the gain of the array antenna can be increased by the side wings which are connected with the ground plane. It is proved through simulation and the measurement results that the operating frequency and the side-lobe level(SLL) are rarely changed when the inclined angle of the side wings is varied.

In recent years, mobile devices have become increasingly multi-functional and high performance, resulting in a dramatical increase in processing speed. On the other hand, the size of device is reduced, circuits inside the device are more easily exposed to electromagnetic interference radiated from antenna or adjacent circuits, degrading the system performance. To prevent this, it is necessary to design the device considering the electromagnetic characteristics with EM simulation at the design stage of product. However, the EM simulation takes a long analysis time and require high-level system resources for fast analysis. In this paper, an equivalent circuit modeling method for a round wire is proposed using a PEEC method and the electromagnetic coupling from a dipole antenna to a transmission line is analyzed in frequency domain. And compared with the result of electromagnetic simulator. As a result, PEEC method shows good agreement with those of electromagnetic simulation, in a much more short time.
