  • New Lefschetz fixed point theorems for compact absorbing contractive admissible maps between Frechet spaces are presented. Also we present new results for condensing maps with a compact attractor. The proof relies on fixed point theory in Banach spaces and viewing a Frechet space as the projective limit of a sequence of Banach spaces.

  • In this article we studied one of the greatest mathematicians and pedagogues, A.N. Kolmogorov. He wrote about five hundreds o( books and articles in the fields of pure mathematics and mathematics education. In this paper we in detail introduced Kolmogorov's history of mathematics education and his theory of mathematical abilities, and elaborated this theory. In addition, we suggested some materials which are aimed to develop mathematical abilities in correspondence to the theory of Kolmogorov.

  • Both theory and experiment are very important parts in sciences. Especially in mathematics, theory seems to be very important, but experiment or practice doesn't. Numerical analysis of many parts in mathematics needs practice in computer. In this paper, I suggest that computer-practicing in teaching power method, inverse power method and deflation to calculate eigenvalues and eigenvectors is good in understanding the theory. It also makes students sure that mathematics is helpful.

A NOTE ON WEAK EXCLUDED MIDDLE LAW

  • Intuitionistic Zermelo-Fraenkel (IZF) set theory is a set theory without the axiom of choice and the law of excluded middle (LEM). The weak excluded middle law (WEM) states that ¬𝜑∨¬¬𝜑 for any formula 𝜑. In IZF we show that LEM is equivalent to WEM plus the condition that any set not equal to the empty set has an element.

  • The reform movements of current mathematics education have based on several major ideas, in order to provide a new vision of the teaching and loaming of mathematics. Of the ideas, the motto of communication of mathematics appears to be a significant factor to change teaching practices in mathematics classroom. Through Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, the psychological background is presented for both supporting the motto and extracting important suggestions of the reform of mathematics education. The development of higher mental functions is explained by internalization, semiotic mediation, and the zone of proximal development. Above all, emphasis is put on the concepts of scaffolding and inter subjectivity related to the zone of proximal development. Seven implications are proposed by Vygotsky's sociocultural theory for the new forms of the teaching and learning of mathematics.

목표내용이 공학도의 실패내성에 미치는 영향: 대학생, 대학원생, 전문가를 중심으로 (Effects of Goal Contents on Failure Tolerance: In Focus of Engineering Undergraduates, Graduates, and Experts)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of goal contents on failure tolerance in engineers (i.e., students and experts in engineering). Based on the goal contents theory, which is a sub-theory of self-determination theory, three intrinsic goals (i.e., self-growth, help, social concern) and two extrinsic goals (i.e., money, fame) were under investigation. A total of 398 participants (118 undergraduate students, 181 graduate students, 99 experts) answered survey questions. In the hierarchical multiple regressions, self-growth goal was entered as the first model, then, to the second model, the other four goals were added. The results showed that social concern goal significantly predicted failure tolerance among all engineer groups. Self-growth goal was closely associated with failure tolerance in undergraduate students and graduate students. Help goal was significant only among graduate students. These results suggest that pursuing intrinsic goals, especially, social concern goal is important to increase failure tolerance. Establishing infrastructure and educational climate for pursuing social concern goal can facilitate the development of personal expertise in engineers as well as the improvement of society.

  • A purpose of this study is to provide Rousseau's health theory and health education in 『Emil』. Though Rousseau was not so much a doctor as a philosopher, he was good at health care and health education. After he had thought over healthy children for 20 years, he had written 『Emil』 for 3 years. His health theory was included in the book. He was aware of the importance of mother's milk, clothes, and physical health. Especially, he told mothers to rear a child at the breast. He understood thoroughly the demerits of medicines, and made no account of doctors and medicines. But on the other hand, He emphasized natural healing power in human body. He thought that one oneself was a physician. He thought highly of inner healing. He thought that only hygiene of medicine was useful to mankind. He prescribed that hygiene was a kind of ethics education. Therefore, his hygiene was associated with mental health and moral evaluation. Because many years have passed, today we can not accept all his assertions. But we need to stress preventive medicines, spontaneous healing, and self-care in health education.

온라인 교육 수용 환경에서 시니어들의 디지털 행동 이해: 근거이론 적용 (Understanding Seniors' Acceptance and Usage for Online Education Program: Based on Grounded Theory)

  • This study conducted a qualitative study on 23 seniors over 55 years old to understand the digital behavior of seniors in the online education acceptance environment. Grounded Theory methodology was applied to the initial enrollment behavior, login behavior, and utilization behavior of online education program. Through the process of open coding, axis coding, and selective coding, the framework in the online education environment of the senior generation was finally derived. As a causal conditions for the senior generation to participate in the online education environment, goal orientation, relationship orientation, leisure orientation and external compulsory were derived, and shadow work appeared as the central phenomenon. Also, contextual conditions resulted in social change, physical and cognitive aging, and psychological atrophy. The intervening conditions included digital device acceptance, educational attitudes, environmental factors, and self-efficacy. Based on this, the action/interactions strategy formed a positive and negative attitude toward shadow work. As a result, positive response behavior, compromising behavior, and shadow work avoidance behavior were shown. It is hoped that this study will be reflected in future researches for the use of digital devices of the elderly and the expansion of online education participation and government policy.

  • In [3], an extension of B. Brosowski s T-invariant Point Theorem is given where the linearity of the function and the convexity of the set are relaxed. In this paper, our main purpose is to generalize S. P. Singh's T-invariant Point Theorem to Approximation Theory.
