Korean government is spreaded on a whole country to setting up a goal to a sustainable growth power of national for low carbon green growth. The recently rolling stock is received the footlights as a best friendly echo transportation of transport system of automobile, airplane, ship etc., also that is playing a big role to reduction of $CO_2$ greenhouse gas and a discharge of air pollution. This study was carried out the investigation and analysis for technology trend of the system light-weighting of a recently urban railway vehicle on commercial operating in domestic and foreign countries. As the results are proposed a short-term development technology and a long-term development technology of the system light-weighting to be developed for reduction weight of urban railway vehicle.

  • Underwater acoustic materials are installed in order to reduce reflection, transmission and radiation of an underwater structure. The acoustic performance of the materials should be evaluated in accurately-controlled environment in terms of temperature and static pressure. In this paper, three pulse tubes, which is equipped with temperature and pressure controllers, are designed and developed to evaluate echo reduction and transmission loss for evaluating the performance below 10 kHz and 30kHz, respectively. The new procedures of the evaluation are suggested to improve the accuracy and the validation for the developed pulse tubes is carried out by comparing theoretical values to experimental ones.

  • A new technique for reducing the susceptibility artifact in gradient echo imaging which uses a tailored RF pulse is proposed. It is applied to the case of imaging where artifacts and distortions arise due to the high local magnetic field inhomogeneity i. e., the susceptibility. The signal loss and void phenomena due to susceptibility in a voxel are studied and a correction method using a tailored RF pulse is proposed. Applications of this method in imaging are given and experimental results obtained using an human volunteer with a 2.0 T KAIS NMR system are presented.

  • In this paper, a tile projector was developed for the control of low-frequency underwater echoes. The projector was designed to cover a wide area such as the hull of a submarine, and to have a relatively thin thickness. As a preliminary work for active echo control, the performance of the projector was measured in an anechoic water tank. The transmitting voltage response as well as the passive echo reduction were measured to evaluate the performance as an underwater projector.

  • This paper proposes a new stereophonic acoustic echo canceller to preven the performance degradation at the instant of far-end talker's movement or change in transmission room environment in stereophonic teleconferencing system. In stereophonic acoustic echo canceller, the filter coefficients of the adaptive filters for echo cancellation do not have unique solutions and not converge to their optimum values. Therefore, the change of the far-end transmission room environment leads to degradation of ERLE(Echo Return Loss Enhanceement). Moreover, their computational complexity increases as the number of the filter coefficient increases, and their adaptive filters converge very slowly. So the real-time implementation is very difficult. To overcome these problems we propose a pre-processor consisting of an adaptive filter for making pseudo stereophonic signal, and it results in improved performance at the instant of environment change at far-end side and reduction of the total complexity.

  • Conventional acoustic echo cancellers using ES algorithm have simple structure and fast convergence speed compared with those using NLMS algorithm, but they are very weak to external noise because ES algorithm updates the adaptive filter taps based on average energy reduction rate of room impulse response in specific acoustical condition. To solve this problem, in this paper, a new update algorithm for acoustic echo canceller with stepsize matrix generator is proposed. A set of stepsizes is determined based on residual error energy which is estimated by two moving average operators, and applied to the echo canceller in matrix from, resulting in improved convergence speed. Simulations in various noise condition show that the proposed algorithm improves the robustness of acoustic echo canceller to external noise.

  • Conventional acoustic echo cancelers using ES(Exponentially weighted Stepsize) algorithm have simple operational configuration and fast convergence speed batter then NLMS algorithm, but they are very weak in external noise because ES algorithm updates filter taps using an average energy reduction rate of room impulse response in specific acoustical condition. So, a new configuration of acoustic echo canceler with stepsize generator and selector is proposed in this thesis. The proposed stepsize generator and selector improve conventional acoustic echo canceler's weakness in external noise and improve the system robustness. The stepsize generator generates additional stepsize value using moving averager, which is the residual noise energy of error signal multiplied by constant ${\gamma}$. The stepsize selector selects the stepsize value that has better performance in an acoustic echo canceler using a coefficient decision factor ${\Delta}_{differ}$ The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm reduces residual error by 5[dB] to 10[dB], improves misadjustment regardless of external noise's SNR.

  • The necessity of the filter coefficients compensation for the LTJ adaptive filter was explained generally and easily by analyzing it with respect to the time-varying transform domain adaptive filter. And also the reduction method of computational complexity for filter coefficients compensation was proposed and its effectiveness was verified through experiments using artificial and real speech signals. The proposed adaptive filter reduces the computational complexity for filter coefficients compensation by 95%, and when the filter is applied to the acoustic echo canceller with 1000 taps, the total complexity is reduced by 82%

  • The single anatomical attribute that has the greatest influence on acoustic scattering from fish is the presence or absence of a swimbladder. This study examined the effect of removing the gas from the swimbladder on the broadband backscattering characteristics of six species of swimbladdered fish: striped beakperch Oplegnathus fasciatus, black scraper Thamnaconus modestus, dark-banded rockfish Sebastes inermis, goldeye rockfish Sebastes thompsoni, black rockfish Sebastes schlegeli and panther puffer Takifugu pardalis. Before and after removing the gas from the swimbladder, the species-specific, frequency-dependent backscattered echo signals from anaesthetized individuals of each fish species were measured at approximately 1° intervals spanning a 90° aspect angle range from -45° (head down) to +45° (head up) using a broadband echo sounder operating at 100-200 kHz. The relationship between the wavelength-normalized backscattering cross section (σ/λ2) and fish length (L/λ) was calculated for each species. The average σ/λ2 value for the six fish species at a L/λ range of 19.79-25.85, with a mean of 22.89, was reduced by approximately 52.3% when the gas was removed.
