F4-TCNQ 분자를 정공 수송층에 이용한 유기 발광 소자의 전기적 특성 향상 (Enhancement of Electrical Properties of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using F4-TCNQ Molecule as a Hole-Transport Layer)

  • We studied the performance enhancement of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) using 2,3,5,6-fluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane ($F_4-TCNQ$) as the hole-transport layer. To investigate how $F_4-TCNQ$ affects the device performance, we fabricated a reference device in an ITO (170 nm)/TPD(40 nm)/$Alq_3$(60 nm)/LiF(0.5 nm)/Al(100 nm) structure. Several types of test devices were manufactured by either doping the $F_4-TCNQ$ in the TPD layer or forming a separate $F_4-TCNQ$ layer between the ITO anode and TPD layer. N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-di(m-tolyl)-benzidine (TPD), tri(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum ($Alq_3$), and $F_4-TCNQ$ layers were formed by thermal evaporation at a pressure of $10_{-6}$ torr. The deposition rate was $1.0-1.5{\AA}/s$ for TPD and $Alq_3$. The LiF was subsequently thermally evaporated at a deposition rate of $0.2{\AA}/s$. The performance of the OLEDs was considered with respect to the turn-on voltage, luminance, and current efficiency. It was found that the use of $F_4-TCNQ$ in OLEDs enhances the performance of the device. In particular, the use of a separate layer of $F_4-TCNQ$ realizes better device performance than other types of OLEDs.

  • 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(Plasma Hsplay Panel :PDP)이 다른 평판 디스플레이 분야(Liquid Crystal Displays(LCDs) and organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs)등)와 경쟁에서 이기기 위해서는 제품의 고화질화, 저소비전력와 고속구동 등의 성능향상이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 PDP의 성능향상을 위하여 유전체 보호층으로 쓰이는 MgO 박막에 Fe를 미량 첨가한 박막을 증착하고, 그 특성에 대하여 연구하였다. e-beam 증착법으로 증착된 Fe 도핑 된 MgO 박막의 표면특성과 전기광학적 특성을 4인치 테스트 패널을 제작하여 연구하였다. Fe가 도핑된 MgO 박막을 가지는 PDP는 Fe가 도핑되지 않은 PDP에 비해 낮은 방전전압 특성을 나타내었으며, 이는 박막에서 측정된 2차전자방출계수의 실험결과와 잘 일치되었다. 증착된 박막의 결정성과 표면 거칠기는 XRD 와 AFM 측정방법을 통하여 결정되었다. 또한, Fe가 도핑된 PDP는 고속구동을 위한 향상된 어드레스 방전 늦음의 특성을 나타내었다.

  • $LiNi_{1-x}Mg_xO_2$(x=0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) samples were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method. The crystal structure was analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction and Rietveld refinement. $LiNi_{1-x}Mg_xO_2$samples give single phases of hexagonal layered structures with a space group of R-3m. The calculated cation-anion distances and angles from the Rietveld refinement were changed with Mg contents in $LiNi_{1-x}Mg_xO_2$. The thicknesses of $NiO_2$ slabs were increased and the distances between the $NiO_2$ slabs were decreased with the increase in Mg contents in the samples. The electrical conductivities of sintered $LiNi_{1-x}Mg_xO_2$ samples were around $10^{-2}$ S/cm at room temperature. The electrochemical performances of $LiNi_{1-x}Mg_xO_2$were evaluated by coin cell test. Compared to $LiNiO_2$, $LiNi_{0.95}Mg_{0.05}O_2$ exhibited improved high-rate capability and cyclability due to the well-ordered layered structure by doping of Mg ion.

Prevalence and treatment of gastric ulcers in Thoroughbred racehorses of Korea

  • Background: Gastric ulcer is one of the prevalent diseases in racehorses. However, it has not been recognized as important in Korea, and drugs used to treat gastric ulcers are included in the doping test list, so they are not allowed to be administered to racehorses in training. Objectives: This study was performed 1) to investigate the prevalence and the severity of gastric ulcers in Thoroughbred racehorses in Korea, 2) to confirm the therapeutic effect of ranitidine and omeprazole, and 3) to compare the efficacy between ranitidine and omeprazole. Methods: Forty-nine horses were randomly recruited, and gastroscopy was performed within two days after racing. Twelve horses with a sum grade of five or higher were randomly assigned to two treatment groups. Seven horses were administered ranitidine, and five horses were administered omeprazole. Follow-up gastroscopy was scheduled within one to five days after finishing the treatment. Results: The prevalence of gastric ulcer in Korean Thoroughbred racehorses after racing was 100%, and the grade was more severe in the non-glandular region than in the pyloric region. There was no correlation between the severity of gastric ulcer in the two regions. Omeprazole had a greater therapeutic effect than ranitidine. Conclusions: This study shows the importance of recognizing gastric ulcers as an important factor, and omeprazole as a possible treatment option in Korea, as it has been removed from the list of prohibited substances for racehorses. Thus, the use of omeprazole is currently recommended until one day before the race.

Tm2O3가 첨가된 MLCC용 BaTiO3 유전체의 전기적 특성 및 열화거동 (Electrical properties and degradation behavior of Tm2O3 doped barium titanate ceramics for MLCCs)

  • Tm 도핑에 따른 $BaTiO_3$ ceramics의 전기적 특성과 열화 거동에 미치는 영향에 대하여 core-shell 형성과 가속열화시험에 의한 미세화학변화의 관점에서 연구하였다. $Tm_2O_3$를 첨가하지 않은 $BaTiO_3$와 1 mol%를 첨가한 $BaTiO_3$를 펠렛과 적층 형태의 시편으로 각각 제조하였다. 1 mol% $Tm_2O_3$가 첨가된 유전체 시편의 유전상수는 $Tm_2O_3$를 첨가하지 않은 시편에 비해 약 40% 높게 나타났고 X7R 조건을 만족하였다. 절연저항 또한 1 mol% $Tm_2O_3$가 첨가된 시편은 $5.43{\times}10^{10}{\Omega}$으로 $Tm_2O_3$를 첨가하지 않은 시편의 $1.11{\times}10^{10}{\Omega}$보다 높게 나타났다. 이는 $Tm^{3+}$ 이온이 Ba site와 Ti site에 선택적으로 치환되고 유전체 미세조직 내에 core-shell 구조를 형성하여 전기적 특성을 향상시킨 것으로 설명된다. 각각의 조성에 따라 제조된 적층 시편의 $150^{\circ}C$, 70 V, 24시간 가속열화시험결과에 따르면, 1 mol% $Tm_2O_3$가 첨가된 $BaTiO_3$는 첨가되지 않은 시편에 비해 전극 층으로의 산소확산이 감소됨을 확인하였고, 이는 $Tm^{3+}$ 이온의 Ti site 치환에 의해 발생한 산소공공이 Ni 전극과 반응할 수 있는 과잉 산소를 줄여주기 때문으로 판단된다.

Is there any Potential Clinical Impact of Serum Phosphorus and Magnesium in Patients with Lung Cancer at First Diagnosis? A Multi-institutional Study

  • Background: The aim of the study was to determine whether the expression of baseline phosphorus (P) and magnesium (Mg) levels were prognostic in terms of stage and overall survival (OS) in newly diagnosed non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. Materials and Methods: Retrospectively, 130 patients were selected at the time of diagnosis oflung cancer (100 with NSCLC and 30 with SCLC), before the initialization of any chemo-radiotherapy. The median age was 67 (range 29-92). IA, IB, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB and IV stages were present in 3, 4, 19, 6, 25, 8, and 65 patients, respectively. After centrifugation, the levels of serum P and Mg were measured using the nephelometric method/ photometry and evaluated before any type of treatment. Results: Higher than normal levels of P were found in 127/130 patients, while only four patients had elevated Mg serum values. In terms of Spearman test, higher P serum values correlated with either stage (rho=- 0.334, p<0.001) or OS (rho=-0.212, p=0.016). Additionally, a significant negative correlation of Mg serum levels was found with stage of disease (rho=-0.135, P=0.042). On multivariate cox-regression survival analysis, only stage (p<0.01), performance status (p<0.01) and P serum (p=0.045) showed a significant prognostic value. Conclusions: Our study indicated that pre-treatment P serum levels in lung cancer patients are higher than the normal range. Moreover, P and Mg serum levels are predictive of stage of disease. Along with stage and performance status, the P serum levels had also a significant impact on survival. This information may be important for stratifying patients to specific treatment protocols or intensifying their therapies. However, larger series are now needed to confirm our results.

탄소나노튜브 기반 벌크 소재의 전기적 임피던스 특성을 이용한 생화학 센서용 전극 개발 연구 (Preparation of Bio-Chemical Sensor Electrodes by Using Electrical Impedance Properties of Carbon Nanotube Based Bulk Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 대량 생산 가능한 센서 전극의 생화학 센서 전극 개발을 위하여 탄소나노튜브(carbon nanotube, CNT)를 복합재료화 공정에 의하여 필름과 나노웹 형태의 벌크 재료로 제작한 후, 이들 전극의 넓은 표면적과 뛰어난 화학적 흡착성을 이용하여 화학적 검출 대상에 노출이 되었을 때 이들로 인한 센싱 특성을 연구하였다. CNT 기반 벌크 전극으로 제작하기 위하여 Nafion을 기저재료로 하는 필름과 PAN 기반의 나노 파이버를 전기방사법에 의하여 제작을 한 후 이들 전극의 화학적 영향에 의한 전기적인 특성 변화 실험을 위하여 버퍼 용액의 정전용량에 대한 전기적 임피던스 요소 값인 저항과 정전용량의 변화를 LCR 계측기로 측정하였다. 생화학센서용 전극으로서 CNT벌크전극의 임피던스 변화 형태가 복합소재 전극의 기저재료에 따라 달리 나타났으며 일정량의 버퍼용액 투여 후에는 변화가 없는 포화 상태의 응답을 보였으며 특히, 정전용량이 저항에 비하여 상대적으로 급격하게 큰 변화를 보여 높은 감도 특성을 지니고 있음이 조사되었다. 이들의 전기적인 특성변화는 버퍼 용액의 화학적 성분들이 전극에 흡수 된 후에 CNT에 흡착이 되어 이들의 전기적인 특성을 변화 시키는 것으로 추론된다.

Prevention of P-i Interface Contamination Using In-situ Plasma Process in Single-chamber VHF-PECVD Process for a-Si:H Solar Cells

  • In thin film silicon solar cells, p-i-n structure is adopted instead of p/n junction structure as in wafer-based Si solar cells. PECVD is a most widely used thin film deposition process for a-Si:H or ${\mu}c$-Si:H solar cells. For best performance of thin film silicon solar cell, the dopant profiles at p/i and i/n interfaces need to be as sharp as possible. The sharpness of dopant profiles can easily achieved when using multi-chamber PECVD equipment, in which each layer is deposited in separate chamber. However, in a single-chamber PECVD system, doped and intrinsic layers are deposited in one plasma chamber, which inevitably impedes sharp dopant profiles at the interfaces due to the contamination from previous deposition process. The cross-contamination between layers is a serious drawback of a single-chamber PECVD system in spite of the advantage of lower initial investment cost for the equipment. In order to resolve the cross-contamination problem in single-chamber PECVD systems, flushing method of the chamber with NH3 gas or water vapor after doped layer deposition process has been used. In this study, a new plasma process to solve the cross-contamination problem in a single-chamber PECVD system was suggested. A single-chamber VHF-PECVD system was used for superstrate type p-i-n a-Si:H solar cell manufacturing on Asahi-type U FTO glass. A 80 MHz and 20 watts of pulsed RF power was applied to the parallel plate RF cathode at the frequency of 10 kHz and 80% duty ratio. A mixture gas of Ar, H2 and SiH4 was used for i-layer deposition and the deposition pressure was 0.4 Torr. For p and n layer deposition, B2H6 and PH3 was used as doping gas, respectively. The deposition temperature was $250^{\circ}C$ and the total p-i-n layer thickness was about $3500{\AA}$. In order to remove the deposited B inside of the vacuum chamber during p-layer deposition, a high pulsed RF power of about 80 W was applied right after p-layer deposition without SiH4 gas, which is followed by i-layer and n-layer deposition. Finally, Ag was deposited as top electrode. The best initial solar cell efficiency of 9.5 % for test cell area of 0.2 $cm^2$ could be achieved by applying the in-situ plasma cleaning method. The dependence on RF power and treatment time was investigated along with the SIMS analysis of the p-i interface for boron profiles.

암모니아수 처리에 따른 바나듐 레독스 흐름전지용 탄소펠트 전극의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Properties of Carbon Felt Electrode for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries by Liquid Ammonia Treatment)

  • 본 연구에서는 바나듐 레독스 흐름전지의 효율을 향상시키고자 탄소펠트에 열산화 반응과 암모니아수 처리를 이용하여 질소가 도핑된 탄소펠트 전극을 제조하였다. 또한 제조된 탄소펠트 전극의 전기화학적 특성평가를 위하여 CV 실험 및 충/방전 실험을 실시하였다. 암모니아수 처리온도가 증가함에 따라 탄소펠트 표면의 질소 관능기가 증가함을 XPS를 통하여 확인하였으며, CV 측정 결과 암모니아수 처리된 탄소펠트는 열산화된 탄소펠트에 비하여 산화/환원의 반응성이 우수함을 확인하였다. 충/방전 실험결과 $300^{\circ}C$에서 암모니아수 처리한 탄소펠트 전극은 열산화된 탄소펠트 전극보다 에너지효율, 전압효율, 전류효율이 각각 약 6.93, 1.0, 4.5%씩 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 이는 질소 관능기가 탄소펠트 전극과 전해질 사이의 전기화학적 성능 향상에 도움을 주었기 때문으로 사료된다.

La0.07Sr0.3Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ 분리막의 제조 및 산소투과 특성 (Preparation and Oxygen Permeation Properties of La0.07Sr0.3Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ Membrane)

  • 구연산법을 이용하여 $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-{\delta}$ 산화물을 합성하였으며, 합성된 분말은 압축 성형 후 $1300^{\circ}C$에서 소결하여 치밀한 페롭스카이트 분리막을 제조하였다. 구연산법으로 제조한 $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-{\delta}$의 전구물질은 TGA와 XRD로 분석하였다. $260{\sim}410^{\circ}C$ 온도 영역에서 전구물질의 금속-구연산 복합체가 분해되며 페롭스카이트 산화물이 얻어지나 XRD 분석결과 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 $SrCO_3$가 불순물로 존재하였다. 분리막의 전기전도도는 온도가 증가함에 따라 증가하다. 결정격자의 산소 손실로 인해 공기분위기에서는 $700^{\circ}C$ ($Po_2=0.2atm$)부터, 헬륨분위기에서는 $600^{\circ}C$ ($Po_2=0.01atm$) 부터 각각 감소하였다. 산소투과량은 온도가 증가할수록 증가하였고, 두께 1.6 mm의 $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-{\delta}$ 분리막은 $950^{\circ}C$에서 $0.31cm^3/cm^2{\cdot}min$의 최대 투과도를 보였다. 산소투과에 대한 활성화 에너지는 $750{\sim}950^{\circ}C$ 온도 영역에서 88.4 kJ/mol이었다. 40 h의 투과실험 후에 분리막의 페롭스카이트 결정 구조는 변하지 않았으며 0.3 mol Sr doping 시 2차상이 생성되지 않고 안정하였다.
