Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a self-curing resin mainly used in removable orthodontic appliances, is an acrylic resin mainly used in the field of modern dentistry. As an advantage, it has been used for a long time as a material for orthodontic devices in dentistry due to its color and volume, tissue affinity, and stability. The production of PMMA can be divided into self-polymerization method and thermal polymerization method according to activation method. Self-curing resins have long been used as orthodontic devices. The resin injection method is largely divided into a sprinkle-on method and a mixing method. In this study, we intend to test the mechanical properties according to the resin injection method of the orthodontic device, such as strength, modulus of elasticity, and surface roughness. There was no significant difference in strength as a result of three-point bending strength test on rectangular specimens (1.4 × 3.0 × 19.0 mm) of orthodontic PMMA. There was also no significant difference in hardness. There was no significant difference in surface roughness. It was confirmed that the orthodontic PMMA had no significant difference in mechanical properties according to the resin injection method of the orthodontic device.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the volumetric change of teeth after preparation for various designs and margin locations through Micro CT analysis (Skyscan 1076: SKYSCAN, Konitch, Belgium). Materials and methods: The 36 artificial teeth were used to determine reduction volume of upper central incisor. According to the restorative design these 36 teeth were divided into 4 groups and according to the marginal location each group was divided into 3 subgroups. The volume of unprepared teeth was obtained by using Micro CT and the volume of prepared teeth was obtained in the same method. The CT scanned images before and after preparation were superimposed. Results: The volume difference was significantly increased as follows: traditional laminate veneer < full laminate veneer < all ceramic crown < metal ceramic crown. One-way ANOVA and Tukey multiple comparison analyses were used to analyze the data in this study. In each group the volume difference was significantly increased as follows: 1 mm above CEJ < CEJ < 1 mm below CEJ (P<.05). The % volume difference of all ceramic crown and metal ceramic crown was 31 - 48% and that of laminate veneer was 14 - 30%. The volume difference of the traditional laminate veneer was 1/3 of that of metal ceramic crown. The full laminate (1 mm below CEJ) and all ceramic crown (1 mm above CEJ) showed a similar volume difference. Metal ceramic crown showed 13.7% more volume difference than all ceramic crown. Conclusion: There exists the difference in volumetric change according to designs of restoration and margin locations of preparation.
We propose a statistical interpolation approximate solution for a nonlinear stochastic integral equation of a stock price process. The proposed method has the order O(h$^2$) of local error under the weaker conditions of $\mu$ and $\sigma$ than those of Milstein' scheme.
In this work we will show that, in the sense of the Maximum overestimation factor, the absolute root bound functional derived from the new formula for the divided difference is better than the other known results in this area.
The purpose this study is to segments apparel market based on difference real-self image and ideal-self image. The objects of the study were to prepare for the establishment of marketing strategy and alternative plan intended to users which are needed in subdivided market, after analyzing according to what the subdivided market is divided into due to the difference real-self image and idea-self image and what difference do they show as a demographic special quality or as a general active special quality in each subdivided market. Factor analysis was performed to determine the leading difference real-self image and ideal-self image, and cluster analysis was employed to identify groups of respondents based on the delineated five image difference factors. Based on the finding, three distinct groups were formed: ideal-self image seeker group, moderators group, real-self image seeker group. And logistic regression was used to assess the relative importance that demographic characteristics play in determining the segmentation. The results of this study show statistically significant differences among the three groups in terms of demographic. Marketing and management implications for effectively targeting the segments are discussed.
General recognition on the role of a designer has differently changed according to the age and region respectively. This research has clarified general recognition on a designer's role among a designer, experts that designers mainly perform co-work and an ordinary people in a period when the design identity is more confused than any other time. The results of this research are as follows. First, the 13 definitions on a role of a designer in a company were identified through field interview survey by presidents and practical responsible persons in design-specialized companies. Second, it was proved whether there is a difference in recognition on a role of a designer between designers and non-designers. Third, this research divided a group of non-designers into two groups such as a design job-related group mainly performing co-work with designer, and an ordinary people's group that doesn't major design. After that, this research found out the most sympathizing definition on a role of a designer at a company in three groups divided into a designer's group, a design job-related group and an ordinary people's group. The awareness on the role of designer was more objectively regulated three-dimensionally in all aspects of a designers group and a non-designers group. In addition, the findings of recognition difference of each group on a designer's role will help comprehensive understanding on each experts group and an ordinary people. The findings of the research will help in performing co-work of designers and non-designers in design decisionmaking based on understanding of this recognition.
Effective air-drying days for four seasons and districts were calculated from average monthly temperature, relative humidity and wind speed records for 24 districts in Korea and air-drying calendars were prepared. And these districts were divided into zones of effective air-drying days. These results were as follows. 1. Effective air-drying days for four seasons were 20 to 23 days in springtime, 30 days in summertime, 21 to 26 days in autumntime, and 8 to 17 days in wintertime. 2. Effective air-drying days variated from district to district and was 237 days, the shortest period, in Ch'unch$\breve{o}$n, and was 288 days, the longest period, in-S$\breve{o}$gwipo. 3. Effective air-drying days were primarilly related to the difference in temperature from month to month, and secondarily, especially in September, were related to the differences in relative humidity, and were not related to wind speed. 4. South Korea was divided into 4 zones of effective air-drying days and these zones had it little difference compared with meteorological zones.
Objectives: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the bond strength of 2 universal adhesives used in different application modes to bleached enamel. Materials and Methods: Extracted 160 sound human incisors were used for the study. Teeth were divided into 4 treatment groups: No treatment, 35% hydrogen peroxide, 16% carbamid peroxide, 7.5% carbamid peroxide. After bleaching treatments, groups were divided into subgroups according to the adhesive systems used and application modes (n = 10): 1) Single Bond Universal, etch and rinse mode; 2) Single Bond Universal, self-etch mode; 3) Gluma Universal, etch and rinse mode; 4) Gluma Universal, self-etch mode. After adhesive procedures nanohybrid composite resin cylinders were bonded to the enamel surfaces. All specimens were subjected to shear bond strength (SBS) test after thermocycling. Data were analyzed using a 3-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey post hoc test. Results: No significant difference were found among bleaching groups (35% hydrogen peroxide, 16% carbamid peroxide, 7.5% carbamid peroxide, and no treatment groups) in the mean SBS values. There was also no difference in SBS values between Single Bond Universal and Gluma Universal at same application modes, whereas self-etch mode showed significantly lower SBS values than etch and rinse mode (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The bonding performance of the universal adhesives was enhanced with the etch and rinse mode application to bleached enamel and non-bleached enamel.
