  • Let E be a uniformly convex Banach space with a uniformly $G{\hat{a}}teaux$ differentiable norm, C a nonempty closed convex subset of E, and $T:C{\rightarrow}{\mathcal{K}}(E)$ a multivalued nonself-mapping such that $P_T$ is nonexpansive, where $P_T(x)=\{u_x{\in}Tx:{\parallel}x-u_x{\parallel}=d(x,Tx)\}$. For $f:C{\rightarrow}C$ a contraction and $t{\in}(0,1)$, let $x_t$ be a fixed point of a contraction $S_t:C{\rightarrow}{\mathcal{K}}(E)$, defined by $S_tx:=tP_T(x)+(1-t)f(x)$, $x{\in}C$. It is proved that if C is a nonexpansive retract of E and $\{x_t\}$ is bounded, then the strong ${\lim}_{t{\rightarrow}1}x_t$ exists and belongs to the fixed point set of T. Moreover, we study the strong convergence of $\{x_t\}$ with the weak inwardness condition on T in a reflexive Banach space with a uniformly $G{\hat{a}}teaux$ differentiable norm. Our results provide a partial answer to Jung's question.

  • Strong convergence theorems on viscosity approximation methods for finding a common zero of a finite family accretive operators are established in a reflexive and strictly Banach space having a uniformly G$\hat{a}$teaux differentiable norm. The main theorems supplement the recent corresponding results of Wong et al. [29] and Zegeye and Shahzad [32] to the viscosity method together with different control conditions. Our results also improve the corresponding results of [9, 16, 18, 19, 25] for finite nonexpansive mappings to the case of finite pseudocontractive mappings.

  • An algorithm for representing the cubic spline interpolation of differentiable functions by a fuzzy system is presented in this paper. The cubic B-spline functions which form a basis for the interpolation function are used as the fuzzy sets for input fuzzification. The ordinal number of the coefficient cKL in the list of the coefficient cij's as sorted in increasing order, is taken to be the output fuzzy set number in the (k, l) th entry of the fuzzy rule table. Spike functions are used for the output fuzzy sets, with cij's as support boundaries after they are sorted. An algorithm to compute the support boundaries explicitly without solving the matrix equation involved is included, along with a few properties of the fuzzy rule matrix for the designed fuzzy system.

  • The differentiable manifold with f - structure were studied by many authors, for example: K. Yano [7], Ishihara [8], Das [4] among others but thus far we do not know the geometry of manifolds which are endowed with special polynomial $F_{a(j){\times}(j)$-structure satisfying $$\prod\limits_{j=1}^{k}\;[F^2+a(j)F+\lambda^2(j)I]\;=\;0$$ However, special quadratic structure manifold have been defined and studied by Sinha and Sharma [8]. The purpose of this paper is to study the geometry of differentiable manifolds equipped with such structures and define special polynomial structures for all values of j = 1, 2,$\ldots$,$K\;\in\;N$, and obtain integrability conditions of the distributions $\pi_m^j$ and ${\pi\limits^{\sim}}_m^j$.
