The STS materials, emphasized in the 6th curriculum, in the chemistry part of middle school science textbooks were analyzed. The average value of the STS content of textbook was 13.2%. In the study of chapter of textbook, 15.9% of STS materials was included in the chapter of ?reaction of materials?, 12% in "character and separation of materials", and 10.8% in "composition of materials". When the STS topics classified by Piel were analyzed, the results were as follows; 40.2% on sociology of science, 28.8% on environmental quality and utilization of natural source, 20.4% on effects of technological developments, and 12.9% on energy. However, the topic on human engineering was only included in a textbook, and the topics on space research and national defence were not included in any textbooks. When the STS materials were analyzed by student activities of SATIS, the number of activities was 71. Most activities were consisted of solving problems and decision, simulation and data analysis, and there was no research design and role playing.

The purpose of the study was to examine the current status of prospective elementary school teachers' mathematical beliefs. 339 future elementary school teachers majoring in mathematics education from 4 universities participated in the study. The questionnaire used in the TEDS-M(Tatto et al., 2008) was translated into Korean for the purpose of the study. The researchers analyzed the pre-service elementary teachers' beliefs about the nature of mathematics and about mathematics learning. Also, the results of the survey was analyzed by various aspects. To determine differences between the groups, one-way analysis of variance was used. To check the relationship between beliefs about the nature of mathematics and about the mathematics learning, correlation analysis was used. The results of the study revealed that the pre-service elementary teachers tends to believe that the nature of mathematics as 'process of inquiry' rather than 'rules and procedures' which is a view that mathematics as ready-made knowledge. In addition, the pre-service elementary teachers tend to consider 'active learning' as desirable aspects in mathematics teaching-learning practice, while 'teacher's direction' was not. We found that there were statistically significant correlation between 'process of inquiry' and 'active learning' and between 'rules and procedures' and 'teacher direction'. On the basis of these results, more extensive and multifaced research on mathematical beliefs should be needed to design curriculum and plan lessons for future teachers.

This study is a similar experimental study using parallax design before and after the non-equality control group conducted to investigate the effects of the Mental health guardian program for mentally disabled people on the awareness of rights, empowerment, and resilience of mentally disabled people. The mentally handicapped persons who participated in the mental health guardian program were significantly higher in the awareness of the rights of the handicapped compared to the mentally handicapped persons who did not participate. In terms of empowerment, there was no significant difference between the two groups. In terms of resilience, the experimental group significantly increased compared to the control group. Among the sub-areas of resilience, excluding spirituality, difficulty overcoming, self-competence, learning and self-financing, basic functions, overall life satisfaction, new potential, advocacy and fullness all significantly increased. It has been shown to be effective in increasing the resilience of the disabled. In this study, the reason why mental health guardian program is effective for awareness of rights and resilience is not a one-way education, but a participatory curriculum in which a person with mental disabilities who participated in the education finds and corrects the wrong news and creates a card news again. It seems to be because it did. As a result of this study, it seems that the mental health guardian program has contributed to enhancing the recognition of the rights of the mentally impaired and enhancing resilience.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a pedagogic direction of home economics education that can form body image which organize self-concept of adolescents positively. To achieve this purpose, the study suggested a body image formation model of adolescents that can be applied to home economics education, and based on this formation model, analyzed contents on body image of current 12 textbooks of home economics education. The main results of this study are summarized as follows: First, to analyze textbook through body image formation model of adolescents, educational contents about body image were categorized into 4 constructs with 8 sub-categories. Second, we found the current textbooks about the child and family life field, food and dietary life field, and clothing life, are handling topics regarding body image formation model of adolescents, such as concepts and components of body image and antecedents and outcomes of body image. We conclude that although the current textbooks handles contents on body image of adolescents, those contents are sporadically presented across the three fields without an integrated perspective. Home Economics, as an entity of educating adolescents' self-esteem through daily life activities, needs to have a topic-oriented approach in developing a curriculum.

To extend the potential benefits of error, the current study examined factors that affect students' error perception in the classroom. An experimental design was used to measure relations of classroom goal structure, feedback, and social relationships on students' perception of error. A total of 316 fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade elementary students participated as part of their regular class curriculum. Self-reported questionnaires were administered to measure students' perception of errors and relationships with teacher and peers, and then students were manipulated by classroom goal structure and feedback. Multiple regression analysis results suggested that students' perception of learning from error was affected mostly by relationships with peers, followed by relationships with teacher and the type of feedback. Students' perception of risk taking for error was also affected by relationships with peers and teacher, followed by the classroom goal structure. However, classroom goal structure and feedback did not affect their perception of thinking about error to improve their learning as well as error strain. These results imply how the classroom climate should be structured to improve perception of errors to improve student's learning.
Cultivating mathematical creativity is one of the aims in the recently revised mathematics curricular. However, there have been lack of researches on how to nurture mathematical creativity for ordinary students. Perspective of Realistic Mathematics Education(RME), which pursues education of creative person as the ultimate goal of mathematics education, could be useful for developing principles and methods for cultivating mathematical creativity. This study reanalyzes RME from the points of view in mathematical creativity education. Major findings are followed. First, students should have opportunities for mathematical creation through mathematization, while seeking and creating certainty. Second, it is vital to begin with realistic contexts to guarantee mathematical creation by students, in which students can imagine or think. Third, students can create mathematics in realistic contexts by modelling. Fourth, students create the meaning of 'model of(MO)', which models the given context, the meaning of 'model for(MF)', which models formal mathematics. Then, students create MOs and MFs that are equivalent to the intial MO and MF given by textbook or teacher. Flexibility, fluency, and novelty could be employed to evaluate the MOs and the MFs created by students. Fifth, cultivation of mathematical creativity can be supported from development of local instructional theories by thought experiment, its application, and reflection. In conclusion, to employ the education model of cultivating mathematical creativity by RME drawn in this study could be reasonable when design mathematics lessons as well as mathematics curriculum to include mathematical creativity as one of goals.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of dental students based on their experiences of online classes after taking non-face-to-face education courses for all the school semesters in 2020. For the research method, an online survey was conducted on A survey was conducted on 161 dental students enrolled in A University. The analytical method was conducted through frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The survey analysis findings showed that the satisfaction of dental students' about the non-face-to-face education course was above 4.2, and the detailed items were in the order of the appropriateness of the attendance processing method, satisfaction with recorded video lectures, and the assessment method of the course grade. In the case of the factors that affect the satisfaction of non-face-to-face education courses, the learning system and assessment method were statistically significant. The online class type that is most preferred by the students is recorded video lectures, and the highest number of participants chose 21~30 minutes as the appropriate time for the class content. It is considered that the application of the online system will continue to be used together with face-to-face education courses in the education site and various university-level efforts like systematic support are required to achieve effective learning achievements. This study only investigated the non-face-to-face education operation conditions of A University, so it cannot be generalized to all universities, but it can be used as basic data to provide education curriculum design and supportive measures for the compatibility of face-to-face and non-face-to-face courses.

North Korea's demand for infrastructure construction and maintenance is growing rapidly. On the other hand, the number of skilled workers is insufficient. Therefore, through a survey of North Korean defectors, this study analyzed the status of construction technology and the difficulties of construction workers. In addition, an attempt was made to derive an appropriate education and training program process and operation plan. As a result of the survey, the reason for the low technical level of construction workers was the lack of skills, lack of motivation to work, and the lack of training and management systems. The appropriate education and training period was 56% of the total response within one year and 36% within six months. Based on the results of this survey, the period of education and training for the rapid training of construction technical personnel in North Korea was adopted as one year. Moreover, compared to the NCS standard in South Korea, appropriate training hours were suggested, excluding training courses, such as planning and design, construction management that require specialized knowledge. Finally, the curriculum corresponding to the education and training courses and the standards for facility names and required areas for facility operation were suggested.
The purpose of this study was to develop and to explore the possibility of the serious language training game for students with intellectual disabilities. To do this, words of language training program were extracted from the National Common Basic Curriculum of Special School and the contents design of language training program were developed based on the evaluation of significance and difficulty by special teachers, special education professors, and special education experts. To explore the possibility of applying the serious language training game, a usability evaluation was conducted with 45 special school teachers and 31 students with intellectual disabilities. The results showed that the serious language game had a high level of usability as the special school teachers received 4.25 and the students with intellectual disabilities received 4.33 out of 5. But there is no difference of usability evaluation on the level of school and the arrangement of school. As a result of this study, we can draw a conclusion that there is a high possibility of applying the serious language game to language education for students with intellectual disabilities.

It is urgent in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that students become creative and integrative thinkers. In this vein, in the last few years, drawing upon constructivism as an innovative learning paradigm, new coding curricula using MIT's Scratch have been introduced in the number of countries to enhance computational thinking (CT). However, constructivism encouraging collaborative and active learning may not be explicitly utilized in instructional design focusing mainly on learning to code as technical skills - some of which exist today in large numbers of school and after-school code activities. To respond to such a misleading way of developing CT through coding, the present study aims to propose the benefits of CT self-assessment rubrics for primary pre-service teachers within a CT course entitled "Problem Solving by Computational Thinking". Our findings show how meaningful collaborative CT self-assessment in a group impacts their learning of CT. We end this paper with the discussion of implications of our findings for CT assessment towards a new paradigm in education.
