  • In this paper, a new decoupling technique for a flyback inverter using an active power decoupling circuit with auxiliary winding and a novel switching pattern is proposed. The conventional passive power decoupling method is applied to control Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) efficiently by attenuating double frequency power pulsation on the photovoltaic (PV) side. In this case, decoupling capacitor for a flyback inverter is essentially required large electrolytic capacitor of milli-farads. However using the electrolytic capacitor have problems of bulky size and short life-span. Because this electrolytic capacitor is strongly concerned with the life-span of an AC module system, an active power decoupling circuit to minimize input capacitance is needed. In the proposed topology, auxiliary winding defined as a Ripple port will partially cover difference between a PV power and an AC Power. Since input capacitor and auxiliary capacitor is reduced by Ripple port, it can be replaced by a film capacitor. To perform the operation of charging/discharging decoupling capacitor $C_x$, a novel switching sequence is also proposed. The proposed topology is verified by design analysis, simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper proposes a method which efficiently allocates decoupling capacitance to reduce power supply noise at the floorplan level. We observe problems of previous approach that the decoupling capacitance of each module was overestimated and the power supply noises of modules were changed by inserting additional area for decoupling capacitance, and then suggest a new approach. And, we also present a simple heuristic method which can effectively allocate white space modules for decoupling capacitance area within more faster time instead of LP technique. Experimental results show that our approach can reduce the area of decoupling capacitance to average 7.9 percent compared with Zhao's approach in [4]. Therefore both total area and wire length of nniflm result are decreased. Also, we confirm that our approach solves well the problem caused by inserting additional area. In execution time comparison, our approach shows average 11.6 percent improvement.

  • Input-output decoupling is well-known to be effective in the control of the nonlinear systems. This paper points out some problems of this technique in applications, and obtains a new digital input-output decoupling feedback law by using the inherent structure of the system. The effectiveness (accuracy) of our new control technique are confirmed by simple computer simulations. Finally, a digital compensator is also designed. The problems we study are of importance in the field of nonlinear control of robots, aerospace navigation, and vehicular control. The methodology to be employed involves both algebraic and geometric aspects of the systems.

  • A decoupling technique for simulating near-field wave motions in two-phase media is introduced in this paper. First, an equivalent but direct weighted residual method is presented in this paper to solve boundary value problems more explicitly. We applied the Green's theorem for integration by parts on the equivalent integral statement of the field governing equations and then introduced the Neumann conditions directly. Using this method and considering the precision requirement in wave motion simulation, a lumped-mass FEM for two-phase media with clear physical concepts and convenient implementation is derived. Then, considering the innate attenuation character of the wave in two-phase media, an attenuation parameter is introduced into Liao's Multi-Transmitting Formula (MTF) to simulate the attenuating outgoing wave in two-phase media. At last, two numerical experiments are presented and the numerical results are compared with the analytical ones demonstrating that the lumped-mass FEM and the generalized MTF introduced in this paper have good precision.

  • A simple technique to decouple the modal equations of motion of a linear nonclassically damped system is to neglect the off-diagonal elements of the modal damping matrix. This is called the decoupling approximation. It has generally been conceived that smallness of off-diagonal elements relative to the diagonal ones would validate its use. In this study, the relationship between elements of the modal damping matrix and the error arising from the decoupling approximation is explored. It is shown that the enhanced diagonal dominance of the modal damping matrix need not diminish the error. In fact, the error may even increase. Moreover, the error is found to be strongly dependent on the exitation. Therefore, within the practical range of engineering applications, diagonal dominance of the modal damping matrix would not be sufficient to supress the effect of modal coupling.

  • Linear second-order matrix systems representing dynamics of large flexible structures are recast in a state space form. By can efficient partial decoupling technique, a few of low frequency modes are decoupled from the rest of modes, and an optimal control procedure is developed in such a way that damping is added to the selected modes without control spillover to uncontrolled modes. Since the partial decoupling requires only eigenvectors of the sected modes, the computing time can be reduced significantly in large systems. Therefore, the method of partial decoupling and control developed in this work may be applicable to vibration contorl of large flexible space structures.

  • For a multi-input, multi-output system, it is widely known that feedback control gain presents extra freedom pole placement problem. An eigenstructure assignment utilizes this freedom for assignment of all or some elements of the closed-loop eigenvectors. In this paper, a nonlinear optimization technique is adopted to obtain a small gain controller that assigns closed-loop eigenvalues and elements of eigenvectors simultaneously. To illustrate the approach, a numerical example of the Airplane mode decoupling using an advanced fighter is shown.

  • The algorithm presented here achieves mathematically better decoupling of the MW-$\theta$ and MVARE Calculations by applying linear transformations to load flow equation on paired initial power. The linear transformations to decouple Jacobian matrix prove to be highly profitable considering both Convergence characteristics and computation time per iteration to those required by the FDLF, because the decoupling does not rely on the assumption that the transmission lines have high X/R ratios.

  • In this paper application of the projection operator technique to the study of NMR absorption line shape and free induction decay curve is explored. It is found that the projection operator technique can provide a convenient means for deriving a set of hierarchy equations which may serve as a good starting point for theoretical calculation of the absorption line and free induction decay function by successive approximation or by an appropriate decoupling approximation. A brief review of linear response theory of NMR line shape and the relation between the absorption line shape and free induction decay function are also described.

  • In this paper a single-stage single-phase differential type isolated AC-DC converter is proposed. This converter eliminates the requirement to use bulky electrolytic capacitor from the system and at the same time provides DC charging by employing the AC Power Decoupling waveform control method. All the switches of the converter achieve ZVS turn on during half line cycle and all diodes achieve ZCS turn off during entire line cycle. A conventional controller is implemented for PFC control and output regulation, whereas a power decoupling controller is added to compensate $2^{nd}$ harmonic ripple power. In addition, an interleaving technique is applied to increase the power range of the converter and reduce the input inductor size. In the end simulation verification is performed and results are obtained for 6.6KW.
