The frequencies of gamma-ray-induced micronuclei (MN) in cytokinesis-blocked (CB) lymphocytes at several doses were measured in three donors of three species (human, rabbit, dog). Measurements performed after irradiation showed a dose-related increases in MN frequency in each of the donors studied. When analysed by linear-quadratic model the line of best fit was : human : $y=0.1184D+0.01867D^2+0.01$, rabbit : $y=0.0387D+0.00528D^2+0.01$ (y = number of MN/CB cells and D = irradiation dose in Gy). The relative sensitivity of rabbit lymphocytes compared with human lymphocytes was estimated by best fitting linear-quadratic model based on the radiation-induced MN data over the range from 0 Gy to 4 Gy. In the case of MN frequency with 0.2, the relative sensitivities of rabbit lymphocytes was 0.39. These data indicate that the induction of MN in rabbit CB cells following irradiation was much less sensitive to the MN induction effects of gamma-irradiation than those from human. The MN assay with dog lymphocytes was very difficult and time-consumed because the dog PHA-stimulated lymphocytes yielded cultures with very low level of CB cells formation in the condition of this experiment. Our in vitro radiobiological study confirmed that the cytogenetic response obtained in blood from rabbit can be utilized for application in environmental studies.

Stow-net is originally spreaded with a lifting beam and a depressing beam. The net is improved by using canvas-made spreading devices by Mr. Han and his colleagues in the beginning of 1980's. The net is improved again by changing the partial shape of netting and arrangement of net pendants so as to be fitting with the actual performance of the net by Dr. Lee and his colleagues since 1988. The author studied to compare the fishing efficiency of those two kinds of nets(The former which was improve by Mr. Han is expressed as a traditional net and the latter improved again by Dr. Lee is expressed as an improved net in the present study). Twenty-one stow-netters concerned with the present study were selected among those based on the Port of Inchon, and were classified into two groups-eleven of them are a traditional net used group and ten are an improved net used group. The data on the fishing operation from August 1992 to March 1993, including the catch, the price of sell, the fishing operated times in every cruise and the fished position noticed by every stow-netter were offered by concerned stow-netters. From the data the times of operation, catch and value in every cruise were extracted and analyzed. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1. The times of operation in cruise were 13.7 by the traditional net used group and 12.7 by the improved net used group. 2. The mean catch per cruise showed 10.1M/T in the traditional net used group and 12.2M/T in the improved net used group, so the latter showed 21% better. 3. The mean catch per operation showed 0.7M/T in the traditional net used group and 0.9M/T in the improved net used group, so the latter showed 28% better. 4. The rate of three important species(starks, hair tail and croakers) in the total catch showed 83%, and the catch showed greater by the improved net used group at the rate of starks 141%, hair tail 110%, croakers 107%. 5. The rate of three important species in the total price showed 82%, but the price of starks which occupied the biggest in catch showed merely 5%, then the economical efficiency appeared low. 6. The mean price per stow-netter and per operation showed about 20%, greater respectively by the improved net used group and the mean price per operation by two important species(hair tail and croakers) showed greater about 30% by the improved net used group.

This proposed gamma (${\gamma}$) correction system is developed to reduce the difference between non-linear gamma curve produced by a typical formula and result produced by the proposed algorithm. In order to reduce the difference, the proposed system is using the Least Squares Polynomial which is calculating the best fitting polynomial through a set of points which is sampled. Each system is consisting of continuous several kinds of equations and having their own overlap sections to get more precise. Based on the algorithm verified by MATLAB, the proposed systems are implemented by using Verilog-HDL. This paper will compare the previous algorithm of gamma system such as Existing system with Seed Table with the latest that such as Proposed system. The former and the latter system have 1, 2 clock latency; each 1 result per clock. Because each of the error range (LSB) is $1{\sim}+1,\;0{\sim}+36$, we can how that Proposed system is improved. Under the condition of SAMSUNG STD90 0.35 worst case, each gate count is 2,063, 2,564 gates and each maximum data arrival time is 29.05[ns], 17.52[ns], respectively.
The environmental impact assessment(EIA) project in Korea has undergone changes and revisions in various evaluation items for about 30 years after the introduction of the Environmental Conservation Act (1997). However, despite the importance of land use evaluation items under the current EIA Act, there are insufficient studies to consider. Therefore, this study focused on the land-use evaluation items based on the EIA guidelines, reviewed 90 of the evaluation documents and consultation documents, and tried to suggest implications and supplementary points forthe domestic EIA land-use evaluation items. As a result, the paradigm was changing from land efficiency centered on development in the past to land efficiency centered on the natural environment and resource conservation. However, in spite of the manual for fitting the paradigm change, opinions on the conservation of the natural environment are still being drawn in the consultation document, so it needs improvement. Two improvements in the impact assessment process suggested in this study are the establishment of standardized spatial data and a quantitative impact and reduction method evaluation tool based on it. In particular, there is a need for a plan evaluation tool for land use arrangement and distribution that can solve the needs of minimizing damage to the natural environment and securing green space and a green network.
This study compares the parafovea preview effect of adolescent group and adult group with different ages using eye tracking experiment. Also, this study confirms that the starting point parameter of the one boundary diffusion model can explain the data obtained through eye tracking experiments. In two experiments, parafoveal information processing was examined using the boundary technique. In Experiment 1, reading times were compared between the conditions given high frequency words preview versus masking preview. In Experiment 2, the condition in which low frequency words were given to parafovea preview information and the condition in which parafovea preview was masked were compared. We found that both the adolescent group and the adult group showed a parafovea preview effect. Also, first fixation, single fixation, and gaze duration of the two groups were different based on the word property shown in the parafovea. The first fixation data obtained in the two experiments were divided into quantiles and fitted into one boundary diffusion model. From the results, we argue that the parafovea preview information processing in the reading was described as the starting point parameter of the one boundary diffusion model.
In this study, the effect of wavelength range and absorption cross-section used to retrieve nitrogen dioxide (NO2) vertical column density (VCD) from Pandora was analyzed using Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS). During the GEMS Map of the Air Pollution (GMAP) 2020 campaign, data from direct sunlight observation with Pandora instrument in Seosan was used, and NO2 VCD was retrieved under four conditions. The average NO2 VCD under the four conditions ranged from 1.22×1016~1.38×1016 molec. cm-2, with a maximum difference of 0.16×1016 molec. cm-2 between each condition. The fitting error averaged 3.19~9.59%, showing an error within 10% in all cases, and the RMS was 5.11×10-3~7.16×10-3 molec. cm-2. The retrieved NO2 VCD using 4 conditions shows a slope in the range of 0.98 to 1.09 and correlation of 0.96 to 0.98 in comparison with Pandonia Global Network (PGN).
To investigate the enhancement in strength and deformation capacities of concrete confined by FRP composites, tests under axial loads were carried out on three groups of thirty six short columns in circular section with diverse GFRP confining reinforcement. The major test variables considered include fiber content or orientation, wrap or tube type by varying the end loading condition, and continuous or discontinuous confinement depending on the presence of vortical spices between its two halves. The circumferential FRP strains at failure for different types of confinements were also investigated with emphasis. Various analytical models capable of predicting the ultimate strength and strain of the confined concrete were examined by comparing to observed results. Tests results showed that FRP wraps or tubes provide the substantial increase in strength and deformation, while partial wraps comprising the vertical discontinuities fail in an explosive manner with less increase in strength, particularly in deformation. A bilinear stress-strain response was observed throughout all tests with some variations of strain hardening. The failure hoop strains measured on the FRP surface were less than those obtained from the tensile coupons in all tests with a high degree of variation. In overall, existing predictive equations overestimated ultimate strengths and strains observed in present tests, with a much larger scatter related to the latter. For more accuracy, two simple design- oriented equations correlated with present tests are proposed. The strength equation was derived using the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion, whereas the strain equation was based on entirely fitting of test data including the unconfined concrete strength as one of governing factors.
We, for the first time, retrieved tropospheric nitrogen dioxide ($Trop.NO_2$) vertical column density (VCD) from ground-based instrument, Pandora, using the optical density fitting based on Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS)in Seoul for the period from May 2014 to December 2014. The $Trop.NO_2$ VCDs retrieved from Pandora were compared with those obtained from Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI). A correlation coefficient (R) between those retrieved from Pandora and those obtained from OMI is 0.55. To compare with surface $NO_2$ VMRs obtained from in-situ, Trop. $NO_2$ VCDs retrieved from Pandora and those obtained from OMI are converted into $NO_2$ VMRs in boundary layer (BLH $NO_2$ VMRs) using data measured from Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS). Surface $NO_2$ VMRs obtained from in-situ range from 5.5 ppbv to 61.5 ppbv. BLH $NO_2$ VMRs retrieved from Pandora and OMI range from 2.1 ppbv to 44.2 ppbv and from 0.9 ppbv to 11.6 ppbv, respectively. The range of BLH $NO_2$ VMRs retrieved from OMI is narrower than that of BLH $NO_2$ VMRs retrieved from Pandora and surface $NO_2$ VMRs obtained from in-situ. There is a batter correlation between surface $NO_2$ VMRs obtained from in-situ and BLH $NO_2$ VMRs retrieved from Pandora (R= 0.50)than the correlation between surface $NO_2$ VMRs obtained from in-situ and BLH $NO_2$ VMRs retrieved from OMI (R = 0.36). This poor correlation is thought to be due to the lower near-surface sensitivity of the satellite-based instrument (OMI) than Pandora, the ground-based instrument.
Purpose: This study was conducted to estimate the changes of corrected diopter and corrected visual acuity with the change in vertex distance. Also we aimed to provide basic data for refraction test. Methods: Using the trial lens, we measured the corrected diopter and corrected visual acuity after performing binocular balance test. We measured the changes of corrected diopter and corrected visual acuity in change of vertex distance. We analyzed statistical significance and relations between vertex distance and corrected diopter and corrected visual acuity. Results: There was no difference in corrected diopter with the change of vertex distance within -1.00D, but the corrected diopter increased with it over - 1.25D. In particular, the change of diopter was largest when the vertex distance increased 15 mm. At over 11.00D, there was large changes of diopter with the changes of vertex distance at 5 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm. On correlation analysis between the vertex distance and the corrected diopter, there was strong correlation (r=0.999 at 5 mm increase of vertex distance, r=0.982 at 10 mm increase and r=0.957 at 15 mm increase) and also there was significant (p<0.01). At the change of visual acuity in increased of vertex distance, the range of a decrease in visual acuity was large when the changes of vertex distance was largest. On correlation analysis between the vertex distance and the corrected visual acuity, there was strong correlation (r=0.969 at 5 mm increase of vertex distance, r=0.985 at 10 mm increase and r=0.994 at 15 mm increase) and also there was significant (p<0.01). Conclusions: The vertex distance was very important at the refraction test and at wearing spectacle. On correlation analysis between the vertex distance and the corrected diopter, and the corrected visual acuity, there was strong correlation and statistically significant. Therefore, the vertex distance should be kept at the refraction using trial lens, and the best fitting was made not to slipping forward, and so we suggested regular refitting of spectacle and the managing method of spectacle were educated to the spectacle wearers.
Statement of problem: Porcelain veneers have become a popular treatment modality for aesthetic anterior prosthesis. Fitting porcelain veneers in the mouth usually involve a try-in appointment, which frequently results in salivary contamination of fitting surfaces. Purpose: An in vitro study was carried out to investigate the effect of silane treatment timing and saliva contamination on the resin bond strength to porcelain veneer surface. Material and methods: Cylindrical test specimens (n=360) and rectangular test specimens (n=5) were prepared for shear bond test and contact angle analysis. Whole cylindrical specimens divided into 20 groups, each of which received a different surface treatment and/or storage condition. The composite resin cement stubs were light-polymerized onto porcelain adherends. The shear bond strengths of cemented stubs were measured after dry storage and thermocycling (3,000 cycles) between 5 and $55^{\circ}C$. The silane and their reactions were chemically monitored by using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy analysis (FTIR) and contact angle analysis. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Dunnett's multiple comparison were used to analyze the data. Results: FT-IR analysis showed that salivary contamination and silane treatment timing did not affect the surface interactions of silane. Observed water contact angles were lower on the saliva contaminated porcelain surface and the addition of 37% phosphoric acid for 20 seconds on saliva contaminated porcelain increased the degree of contact angle. Silane applied to the porcelain, a few days before cementation, resulted in increasing the bond strength after thermocycling. Conclusion: Within the limitation of this study, it can be concluded that it would be better to protect porcelain prosthesis before saliva contamination with silane treatment and to clean the contaminated surface by use of phosphoric acid.
