The present study was conducted to develop seed treatment for the production of healthy and clean peanut sprout. Dry heat treatment of peanut seeds reduced the incidence of the rot. The seed treatment condition at $52^{\circ}C$ for 10 h. was the most efficient without inhibiting seed viability significantly. Seeds were dark cultured at $27^{\circ}C$ for up to 9 days. The treatment of Indole-B and gibberellic acid influenced germination, T50, fresh, dry weight, hypocotyl length, hypocotyl length diameter, root length, number of lateral root and epicotyl of peanut sprout. There were no differences in the germinability of peanut seeds between gibberellic acid treatment methods but higher fresh weight was observed in the GA3 solution spray after 2 hour water soaking. The general growth and lateral root development of peanut sprouts were suppressed by Indole-B which is used for inhibiting root formation and promoting hypocotyls. The treatment of gibberellic acid promoted hypocotyl elongation, but it did not influence on the growth of hypocotyls and root system.

Touch-enabled technology is increasingly being accepted as a main communication interface between human and computers. However, conventional touchscreen technologies, such as resistive overlay, capacitive overlay, and SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave), are not cost-effective for large screens. As an alternative to the conventional methods, we introduce a newly emerging method, an optical imaging touchscreen which is much simpler and more cost-effective. Despite its attractive benefits, optical imaging touchscreen has to overcome some problems, such as heavy computational complexity, intermittent ghost points, and over-sensitivity, to be commercially used. Therefore, we designed a hardware controller for signal processing and multi-coordinate computation, and proposed Infrared-blocked DA(Dark Area) manipulation as a solution. While the entire optical touch control took 34ms with a 32-bit microprocessor, the designed hardware controller can manage 2 valid coordinates at 200fps and also reduce energy consumption of infrared diodes from 1.8Wh to 0.0072Wh.
Recently, cosmic voids have been recognized as a powerful cosmological probe. A number of studies have focused on the effects of the gravitational lensing by voids on the temperature (and in some cases polarization) anisotropy of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) background at relatively large to medium scales, l ~ 1000. Many of these studies attempt to explain the unusually large cold spot in CMB temperature maps and dynamical evidence of dark energy via detections of late-time integrated Sachs Wolfe (ISW) effect. Here, the effects of lensing by voids on the CMB temperature anisotropy at small scales, up to l = 3000, will be investigated. This work is carried out in the light of the benefits of adding large catalogues of cosmic voids, to be identified by future large galaxy surveys such as EUCLID and LSST, to the analysis of CMB data such as those from Planck mission. Our numerical simulation utilizes two methods, namely, the small-de ectionangle approximation and full ray-tracing analysis. Using the fitted void density profiles and radius (RV ) distribution available in the literature from N-body simulations, we simulated the secondary temperature anisotropy (lensing) of CMB photons induced by voids along a line of sight from redshift 0 to 2. Each line of sight contains approximately 1000 voids of effective radius $RV_{,eff}=35h^{-1}Mpc$ with randomly distributed radial and projected positions. Both methods are used to generate temperature maps. The two methods will be compared for their accuracy and effciency in the implementation of theoretical modeling.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factorial structure of the criteria on clothing selection. Data were obtained from 219 housewives in Seoul. 95 likert type questions were selected from the existing questionnaires and from the open end questions. The items were analyzed for discriminating power, followed by the factor analysis. 57 items were subjected to the principal component analysis with orthogonal rotation after extraction of 5 major factors. 47 items were found to be significantly loaded to at least one of the five factors. The factors had the following characteristics: Factor I. The persons scoring high on this factor would invest time and energy in their clothes to achieve their image and individuality. They were interested in clothes, appearance and fashion. Factor II. The persons scoring high on this factor were more concerned about the practicality of clothing, such as ease-of-care, comfort, texture and quality of fabric. They would not select the clothes which soiled easily and would not perform as expected. Factor III. High scores on this factor were associated with the eagerness to get the cloth-ing value for the money. They would make a long plan to buy an expensive clothing and choose a unique clothing regardless of fashion. Factor IV. A high score on this factor was suggestive of modesty. They were willing to buy inconspicuous clothes, such as dark or muted colors, small prints and conservative styles. Factor V. High scores on this factor were characterized by the desire for conformity and approval of their friends. This result may be used to develop an instrument to measure the criteria on clothing selection of consumer.

Highly corrosion resistance performance of CrAlSiN coatings were obtained by applying ultrathin $Al_2O_3$ thin films using atomic layer deposition (ALD) method. CrAlSiN coatings were prepared on Cr adhesion layer/SUS304 substrates by a hybrid coating system of arc ion plating and high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) method. And, ultrathin $Al_2O_3$ passivation layer was deposited on the CrAlSiN/Cr adhesion layer/SUS304 sample to protect CrAlSiN coatings by encapsulating the whole surface defects of coating using ALD. Here, the high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX) analysis revealed that the ALD $Al_2O_3$ thin films uniformly covered the inner and outer surface of CrAlSiN coatings. Also, the potentiodynamic and potentiostatic polarization test revealed that the corrosion protection properties of CrAlSiN coatings/Cr/SUS304 sample was greatly improved by ALD encapsulation with 50 nm-thick $Al_2O_3$ thin films, which implies that ALD-$Al_2O_3$ passivation layer can be used as an effect barrier layer of corrosion.
Leaf chlorophyll fluorescence capable to estimate $CO_2$ assimilation was compared among three citrus rookstocks: trifoliate orange (Poncitrus trifoliate L.), 'Flying Dragon' (Poncitrus trifoliate L. var. monstrosa) and citromelo (Poncitrus trifoliate L.${\times}$Citrus paradisi), as well as among satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu cv. Nichinan No.1) grafted on the 3 rootstocks. Citromelo, the most vigorous rootstock; and 'trifoliate orange'; the most common cultivar and moderate rootstocks gave the same potential and actual quantum yields, whereas 'Flying Dragon' (very dwarf) had lower values due to a higher Fo and Fs for fluorescence obtained from dark-adapted and light-adapted leaves, respectively. These findings show that the absorbed photon energy was dissipated more as fluorescence from the antena chlorophyll in 'Flying Dragon' than trifoliate orange or 'swingle' citrimelo. The satsuma mandarins grafted on these rootstocks did not, however, show the differences observed in the rootstocks by having all the same potential and actual quantum yields. It is suggested that the rootsocks do not potentially or actually electron transport in the Photosystem II (PS II) of satsuma mandarin grafted on the 3 rootstocks.
The red color bleaching phenomena of red pepper powder by the exposure to sun light were studied on the various factors such as drying methods of pepper and the storage conditions of pepper powder, relative humidities, particle sizes, and the amounts and qualities of light. The surface color of red pepper was rapidly bleached by the successive daily exposures until the color retention value (capsanthin remained/original capsanthin content) reached to 0.5, while that of dark storge showed a negligible change. The color changes were related with the cumulative solar energy at various water activities $(a_w)$. As decreasing $a_w$ below 0.5, the bleaching reaction was highly accelerated, and thereafter was slowly progressed. Sun lights transmitted by red-, yellow- and blue-gelatin filters, respectivly, bleached in different degrees and at the shorter wavelength light, the more color bleaching occurred. From this fact a red colored package film could be effectivly used for the color preservation purpose in the red pepper storage.

The photo-response characteristics of polysilicon based metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photodetector structure, depending on deuterium treatment method, was analyzed by means of the dark-current and the light-current measurements. Al/Ti bilayer was used as a Schottky metal. Our purpose is to incorporate the deuterium atoms into the absorption layer of undoped polysilicon, effectively, for the defect passivation. We have introduced two deuterium treatment methods, a furnace annealing and an ion implantation. In deuterium furnace annealing, deuterium bond was distributed around polysilicon surface where the light current flows. As for the ion implantation, even thought it was a convenient method to locate the deuterium inside the polysilicon film, it creates some damages around polysilicon surface. This deteriorated the photo-response in our photodetector structure.
In nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities the removal of cobalt from radioactive liquid waste is needed to reduce the radioactivity concentration in effluents. In liquid wastes containing strong organic complexing agents such as EDTA cobalt removal can be problematic due to the high stability of the Co-EDTA complex. In this study, the removal of cobalt from NaNO3 solutions using antimony oxide (Sb2O3) synthesized from potassium hexahydroxoantimonate was investigated in the absence and presence of EDTA. The uptake studies on the ion exchange material were conducted both in the dark (absence of UV-light) and under UV-C irradiation. Ca2+ or Ni2+ were included in the experiments as competing cations to test the selectivity of the ion exchanger. Results show that UV-C irradiation noticeably enhances the cobalt sorption efficiency on the antimony oxide. It was shown that nickel decreased the sorption of cobalt to a higher extent than calcium. Finally, the sorption data collected for Co2+ on antimony oxide was modeled using six different isotherm models. The Sips model was found to be the most suitable model to describe the sorption process. The Dubinin-Radushkevich model was further used to calculate the adsorption energy, which was found to be 6.2 kJ mol-1.
The air-dried bark of Salix rorida was extracted with acetone-water(7:3, v/v) and its extractives were concentrated with a vacuum evaporator. The extractives were fractionated with a series of n-hexane, chloroform, ethylacetate(EtOAc) and water on a separatory funnel. Each fraction was freeze-dried to give some dark brown powder. The EtOAc and water soluble fractions were chromatographed on a Sephadex LH-20 column using a series of aqueous methanol and ethanol-hexane mixture as eluents. The isolated compounds were tested with a cellulose TLC developed with TBA and 6% acetic acid and then visualized on UV lamp or sprayed with vanillin-HCl-EtOH. The purified compounds were flavonoids and their glycosides as follows:(+)-catechin, naringenin, salipurposide, aromadendrin, isosalipurposide, aromadendrin-7-O-𝛽-D-glucopy- ranoside and taxifolin-7-O-𝛽-D-glucopyranoside. The structures of each compounds were confirmed by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectra.
