The estimates of both runoff depth and peak runoff by the basin runoff curve numbers, which are CN-II for antecedent moisture condition- II and CN -III for antecedent moisture condition-III, obtained from hydrological soil-cover complexes of 26 watersheds are investigated by making use of the observed curve numbers, which are median curve number and optimum curve number, computed from 250 rainfall-runoff records. For gaged basins the median curve numbers are recommended for the estimation of both runoff depth and peak runoff. For ungaged basin, found is that for the estimate of runoff depth CN-II is adequate and for peak runoff CN-II is suitable. Also investigated is the variation of the runoff curves during storms. By the variable runoff curve numbers, the prediction of runoff depth and peak runoff can be improved slightly.

Based on the curve segment grouping, an efficient recognition of round objects form partially occuluded round boundaries is proposed. Curve segments are extracted from an image using a criterion based on the intra-segment curvature and local contrast. During the curve segment extraction the boundaries of pratially occluding and occuluded objects are segmented to different curve segments. The extracted segments of constant intra-segment curvature are grouped to different curve segments. The extracted segments of constant intra-segment curvature are grouped nto a round boundary by the proposed grouping algorithm using inter-segment curvature which gives the relatinships among the curve segments of the same round boundary. The 1st and the 2nd order moments are used for the parameter estimation of the best fitted ellipse with round boundary, and then recognition is perfomed based on the estimated parameters. The proposed scheme processes in segment unit and is more efficient in computational complexity and memory requirements those that of the conventional scheme which processed in pixel units. Experimental results show that the proposed technique is very efficient in recognizing the round object sfrom the real images with apples and pumpkins.
This study aims at the estimation of a river management flow in urban basin analyzing Sinchun basin to be the tributary of Kumho river basin. The river management flow has to satisfy a low flow as natural flow and an environmental preservation flow estimated by a dilution flow to satisfy a target water quality in drought flow. Therefore for the estimation of a river management flow in Sinchun in this study, first Tank model as a basin runoff model estimates a low flow, a drought flow from a flow duration curve in Sinchun, second QUAL2E model as water quality model simulates water quality in Sinchun and estimates environmental preservation flow to satisfy a target water qua%its, BOD 8 mg/l by a dilution flow derived from Kumho river, Nakdong river and around water. And the river management flow is estimated by addition of a use flow and a loss flow to more flow between a low-flow and an environmental preservation flow.
The objective of this study Is to supply basic data for large reservoir sedimentation research In future and make suggestions to maintain and opera능 the reservoir more of efficiently. At first, previous studios about the estimation of sediment yield rate were reviewed in Korea. And the discharge rating curves of upstream stage gauging stations and the correlation between dam Inflow and stage discharge were analyzed. With the analysis results, the spec유c sediment rate of Soyanggang dam was estimated as 608 m3/km2/yr. It was similar to that of Soyanggang dam feasibility study and 1994's field surveys of the reservoir than that of 1983's field surveys. Because the sediment rating curves were derived under the low discharge conditions, It needs to be checked under the flood conditions. However, the suggested methods such as flowrate analysis and sediment estimation will be useful to the sediment studios In future. Key words . reservoir sediment, sediment yield rate, rating curve, flowrate analysis.
Studies present a guide to parameter estimation of software reliability models using SAS JMP. In this paper, we consider only software reliability growth model(SRGM), where mean value function has a S-shaped growth curve, such as Yamada et al. model, and ohba inflection model. Besides these stochastic SRGM, deterministic SRGM's, by fitting Logistic and Gompertz growth curve, have been widely used to estimate the error content of software systems. Introductions or guide lines of JMP are concerned. Estimation of parameters of Yamada et al. model and Logistic model is accomplished by using JMP. The differences between Yamada et al. model and Logistic model is accomplished by using JMP. The differences between Yamada et al. model and Logistic model is discussed, along with the variability in the estimates or error sum of squares. This paper have shown that JMP can be an effective tool I these research.

This study proposes a framework enhancing the accuracy of estimation for project duration by combining linear Bayesian updating scheme with the learning curve effect. Activities in a particular project might share resources in various forms and might be affected by risk factors such as weather Statistical dependence stemming from such resource or risk sharing might help us learn about the duration of upcoming activities in the Bayesian model. We illustrate, using a Monte Carlo simulation, that for partially repetitive projects a higher degree of statistical dependence among activity duration results in more variation in estimating the project duration in total, although more accurate forecasting Is achievable for the duration of an individual activity.
For hydroforming process, determination of back-up fluid pressure in chamber is one of the most essential tasks. In this paper, we present a back-up pressure estimation system which estimates the back-up pressure of hydroforming process utilizing a multi-layered neural network. The neural network learns the nonlinear relation ship between the back-up pressure and the geometric state variables of hydroforming process. The proposed method does not necessitate sophisticated analysis on hydroforming process but some geometric intuition. The experimental results show that the neural network well approximates the nonlinear relationship between the back-up pressure and the geometric state variables of hydroforming process, thus giving the good estimation of back-up pressure vs punch stroke curve.

In this study, the method of annual sediment estimation for reservoir long-term operation is proposed. Long-term daily precipitation and evaporation are predicted by Markov Chain. Using these values, reservoir inflow is simulated by NWS-PC model. Reservoir sediment load is estimated by sediment rating relation curve which is observed. From the simulation results, it was found that each simulated value by Markov Chain and NWS-PC was well compared to the observed ones and also estimated reservoir sediment was appropriate to the compared values using empirical equations. It is thought that the proposed method for estimation of reservoir sediment can be useful used to operate the reservoir.
In this study the flow curve estimation is discussed using TANK model which is one of hydrologic models. The main interest is the accuracy of TANK model parameter estimation with respect to the sampling frequency of input data. For doing this, input data with various sampling frequencies is used to estimate model parameters. As a result, in order to generate relatively accurate flow curve, it is recommendable to measure stream flow at least every 8 days.
In this paper, we study the estimation for algebraic polynomials in the bounded and unbounded regions bounded by piecewise Dini smooth curve having interior and exterior zero angles.
