The objectives of this study were; (1)to determine if socio-demographic variables influence energy conservation attitude, energy conservation knowledge, energy conservation behavior of consumer, (2) to determine if energy conservation attitude and energy conservation knowledge influence energy conservation behavior of consumer, (3) to examine the causal relationships among variables which influence energy conservation behavior of consumer. The model for this study included following variables; (1) socio-demographic variables, which are the independent variables; (2) energy conservation behavior of consumer, which is a dependent variable; (3) energy conservation attitude of consumer, which is an intervening variable ;(4) energy conservation knowledge of consumer, which is an intervening variable. The data used in this study included 502 homemakers living in Seoul. Statistics used for data analysis were ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation and Path Analysis. The major findings were follows; (1) Energy conservation attitude and energy conservation behavior difference significantly according to the level of family income among socio-demographic variables such a age, educational level and family income. Energy conservation knowledge differenced significantly educational level, and family income. Energy conservation knowledge difference significantly educational level. (2) Energy conservation behavior differed significantly according to energy conservation attitude and energy conservation knowledge. (3) Energy conservation attitude and energy conservation knowledge had positive effects on energy conservation behavior directly and indirectly. (4) Family income had negative effects on energy conservation behavior directly and indirectly through energy conservation attitude. Education had positive effect on energy conservation behavior indirectly through energy conservation knowledge.
This study aims to examine consumer product safety search levels, as well as their response to safety-oriented behavior change, in a bid to use the results in the diverse policy formulation of government and business, and as basic data for securing consumer safety. The findings of this study are outlined as follows. First, for consumer safety information search access and reliability, in the case of access, accessibility via TV and other press media was high, while accessibility via education (seminars, lectures, practice and campaigns) was low. Second, consumer safety-oriented behaviors were examined before and after purchasing products; there was a significant difference associated with monthly income prior to buying products. Third, in order to determine the influence of variables related to consumer safety-oriented behaviors, consumer safety-oriented behaviors as a dependent variable underwent regression analysis; information search access and reliability, and monthly income were found to significantly influence consumer behavior.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the casual relationships of situational variables and consumer characteristics on apparel buying behavior. data were collected via a questionnaire developed on the previous studies from 534 housewives living at Seoul and Pusan, and analyzed by Path analysis. Results indicated that consumers were affected directly by the buying situation and the usage situation, and indirectly by the communication situation and the consumer characteristics on apparel buying behavior. The buying situation was a variable that most affected consumers'apparel buying behavior. Apparel consumers showed the common situational effects on apparel buying behavior as did on consumer behavior of the other consumer goods. The casual relationships of apparel buying behavior were significantly different on the types of usage situations.
The purpose of this study is to examine green consumer behavior (green product purchasing behavior and green consumption life) affected by demographical characteristics, and cognition degree of green life (cognition of a green indicator, a green life catalyst system, and environmental problems). It's also to promote strategy and suggest effective activation plans for the vitalization of green consumer behavior. To carry out the task, verification of credibility, multiple regression analysis, two-step cluster analysis, and multinomial logistic analysis were used. The results are as follows: First, the factors that effect green product purchasing behavior were gender, age, cognitive of a green indicator, carbon points system, electricity peak hour system, and seriousness of environmental damage due to lifestyle. Second, the factors that effect green lifestyle were gender, age, carbon grade indicator system, cognition of a green system, and the seriousness of environmental damage due to lifestyle. Third, the comparative group characteristic analysis showed low rates for careless green consumer behavior groups compared to the passive green consumer behavior groups in cognition of a green indicator, green system, and environmental problems. For active green consumer behavior groups, the analysis showed high rates in cognition of carbon grades, eco-labeling, electricity peak hour system, and environmental damage due to lifestyle. In order to encourage green consumer behavior, it's evident that cognition of a green indicator, a green life catalyst system, and environmental problems need to be improved through strategic education and continuous encouragement.

In marketing reserach, the ultimate goal is to increase predictability of consumer's purchse behavior. However, most of the marketing researchers measure purchase intention rather than behavior assuming that the consumer's purchase behaviors will coincide with their intentions. Lately, there have been many arguments whether purchase intention is meaningful as a determinant or a predictor for purchase behavior. Additionally, many studies reported substantial variations among the 'product categories. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between consumer's purchase intention and purchase behavior of apparel products. Two research questions were set up. One was to find out the relationship between the intention and behavior, and the other was to find out the factors affecting the relationship. It was found out that mere intention could neither explain nor predict behavior, and that the factors affecting intenting intention- behavior inconsistency had to be submitted for explanation and prediction. These factors could explain inconsistency between the intention and the behavior. Regression equations in the past researches explained aggregate results, but coludn't explain each consumer's intention-behavior inconsistency. The integration of the specific intention and the affecting factors can increase predictability of each consumer's purchase behavior.
The theory of planned behavior proposed by Ajzen predicts that certain behaviors are determined by behavioral intentions which are affected by an attitudinal belief toward the behavior, the subject norms, and the individual's perception of their control over the behavior. This study's aim is to examine consumers' inappropriate complaint behaviors, using the theory of planned behavior. Consumers' inappropriate complaint behaviors are defined by two types, which are low -and high-intensity inappropriate complaint behavior based on the primary data collected from a group of consumer affairs professionals in the business field. The survey questionnaire was administered to 1,000 consumers via an on-line survey. The two models were assessed with path analysis in order to predict consumers' inappropriate complaint behaviors, using the theory of planned behavior. The results are as follows: First, two types of inappropriate compliant behaviors were identified according to the results of an exploratory study conducted by professionals who had been employed at the department of consumer affairs. Second, the theory of planned behavior is adequately fitted to examine the factors related to consumers' inappropriate complaint behaviors. Also, all three variables based on the theory of planned behavior, -perceived behavior control, subjective norm, and attitude-had a significant effect on inappropriate complaint behavior intention. Third, consumers' inappropriate complaint behavior intention played the most significant role in low-intensity inappropriate complaint behavior, whereas attitude was found to play a significant role in high-intensity inappropriate complaint behavior. The significance and implication were discussed in terms of effective customer management strategies.
This article empirically examines the relationship between values, consumer innovativeness, online opinion leadership, and new product adoption behavior utilizing wearable technology as the overall unit of analysis. The authors analyze data collected from SNS users who possess one or more wearable devices using a structural equation modeling approach to examine the direct effects. Moreover, a bootstrapping approach is adopted to explore the indirect effects between the constructs. The results indicate that consumers who value stimulation and hedonism are more inclined to possess stronger consumer innovativeness. Consumer innovativeness also positively influences online opinion leadership, ultimately leading to the faster adoption of new products. The mediating effect of consumer innovativeness between the value stimulation and online opinion leadership is also confirmed. In addition, although consumer innovativeness has no direct effect on new product adoption behavior, it does have an indirect, mediating effect through online opinion leadership.
This study is conducted a survey of consumer problems and dissatisfactionand their complaining behavior with door to door and mail order sellings. Results of the study show that both door to door selling and mail order selling the level of consumer complaining behavior was below median point. Path analysis of the variables affected complaining behavior showed that total causal effect to the biggest consumer dissatisfaction.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for consumer complaining behavior. For this purpose, questionaire was given to 600 individuals who have resided in Seoul as the housewife consumer and possessed the experience to use the purchased refrigerators within the period of 5 years. 437 data were analyzed by the statistical methods like frequency, percentage, ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, X2-test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were described as follows; 1) Complaining behavior have shown significant differences according to housewife's age, degree of perceived housewife's consumer education, husband's job and housewife's job. 2) The type of attribution of dissatisfaction have shown significant differences according to husband's job, housewife's job and family income. 3) There was significant difference in the complaining behavior according to the type of causal attribution and responsibility attribution. 4) The complaining behavior was influenced by causal attribution of dissatisfaction, responsibility attribution of dissatisfaction, family income, degree of perceived housewife's consumer education, husband's job and housewife's age. And the relative contribution of each variable explaining the complaining behavior was decreased according to the order of variables that were described.
Though much attention has been paid to offer various multimedia services by many online service providers, the study on consumer behavior of online information service users are yet to be further explored in various aspects. This study develops a mathematical model for analyzing online consumer's usage patterns, contrasted to the existing media selection theory and flow concept about usage behavior of information services. We demonstrated using some case examples that online information consumption can be viewed not only as a cognitive behavior interacting with online media, but also as an economically rational behavior depending on consumer's perceived cost and time spending. The results obtained in this paper will surely serve as a theoretical foundation for justifying the consumer's behavior and WTP (willingness to pay) for various online contents consumption empirically.
