This paper presents the application of the wavelet transform analysis and the neural network method to the phonocardiogram (PCG) signal. Heart sound is a acoustic signal generated by cardiac valves, myocardium and blood flow and is a very complex and nonstationary signal composed of many source. Heart sound can be discriminated normal heart sound and heart murmur. Murmurs have broader frequency bandwidth than the normal ones and can occur at random position of cardiac cycle. In this paper, we classified the group of heart sound as normal heart sound(NO), pre-systolic murmur(PS), early systolic murmur(ES), late systolic murmur(LS), early diastolic murmur(ED). And we used the wavelet transform to shorten artifacts and strengthen the low level signal. The ANN system was trained and tested with the back- propagation algorithm from a large data set of examples-normal and abnormal signals classified by expert. The best ANN configuration occurred with 15 hidden layer neurons. We can get the accuracy of 85.6% by using the proposed algorithm.
In this paper, we present a robust recognition algorithm based on the Wiener filtering method as a research tool to develop the Korean Speech recognition system. We especially used Wiener filtering method in cepstrum-domain, because the method in frequency-domain is computationally expensive and complex. Evaluation of the effectiveness of this method has been conducted in speaker-independent isolated Korean digit recognition tasks using discrete HMM speech recognition systems. In these tasks, we used 12th order weighted cepstral as a feature vector and added computer simulated white gaussian noise of different levels to clean speech signals for recognition experiments under noisy conditions. Experimental results show that the presented algorithm can provide an improvement in recognition of as much as from $5\%\;to\;\20\%$ in comparison to spectral subtraction method.

By using 2 signals without additional input signal, an all-optical binary half adder at 10 Gbps is demonstrated. The half adder operates in single mechanism, which is XGM. By achieving this experiment, we also explored the possibilities for the enhanced complex logic operation and higher chances for multiple logic integration.
The literature provides strong precedent for both pro-tumorigenic and tumor suppressor roles for the c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs) in the setting of oncogenesis. Clearly, JNKs are activated by numerous oncogenes and growth factors and the literature documents a role for these MAP kinases in cell proliferation and transformation. By contrast, JNKs mediate signals from diverse stimuli that result in cell death or differentiation and a role for JNKs as tumor suppressors has emerged. This enigmatic nature of the JNKs in the setting of oncogenesis is considered herein. Further illumination of the complex and context-dependent functions of the JNKs in cancer cells is of obvious importance for the rational use of small molecule JNK inhibitors as therapeutics.
This paper describes an electrochemical immunosensor for simple, fast and quantitative detection of a urinary hippuric acid which is one of major biological indicator in toluene-exposed humans. The feature of this electrochemical system for immunoassay of hippuric acid is based on the direct conjugation of ferrocene to a hippuric acid. With the competition between the ferrocene-hippuric acid complex and hippuric acid for binding to the anti-hippuric acid monoclonal antibody coated onto gold nanoparticles, the electrical signals are turned out to be proportional to urinary hippuric acid in the range of 0.01-10 mg/mL, which is enough to be used for the point-of-care. The proposed electrochemical method could extend its applications to detect a wide range of different small molecules of antigens in the health care area.

An adaptive neural controller for perturbed strict-feedback nonlinear system is proposed. All the previous adaptive neural (or fuzzy) controllers are based on the backstepping scheme where the universal approximators are employed in every design steps. These schemes involve virtual controls and their time derivatives that make the stability analysis and implementation of the controller very complex. This fact is called 'explosion of complexty ' since the complexity grows exponentially as the system dynamic order increases. The proposed adaptive neural control scheme adopt the backstepping design procedure only for determining ideal control law and employ only one neural network to approximate the finally selected ideal controller, which makes the controller design procedure and stability analysis considerably simple compared to the previously proposed controllers. It is shown that all the time-varing signals containing tracking error are stable in the Lyapunov viewpoint.

In this paper, a back propagation neural network teaming algorithm based on the complex multilyer perceptron is represented for suppressing narrowband interference of the received signals in DS-SS mobile communication system. We proposed neural network adaptive correlator(NNAC) which has fast convergence rate and good performance with combining back propagation neural network and the receiver of DS-SS. We analyzed and proved that NNAC has lower bit error probability than that of traditional RAKE receiver through results of computer simulation in the presence of the tone and narrow-band interference and the co-channel interference.
Multi-layered neural networks offer an exciting alternative for modelling complex non-liner systems. This paper investigates the identification of continuous time nonliner system using neural networks with a single hidden layer. The digital low - pass filter are introduced to avoid direct approximation of system derivatives from sampled data. Using a pre-designed digital low pass filter, an approximated discrete-time estimation model is constructed easily. A continuous approximation liner model is first estimated from sampled input-out signals. Then the modeling error due to the nonlinearity is decreased by a compensator using neural network. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effective of the proposed method.
In order to utilize different nitrogen sources and to survive in a situation of nitrogen limitation, microorganisms have developed sophisticated mechanisms to adapt their metabolism to a changing nitrogen supply. In this communication, the recent knowledge of nitrogen regulation in the amino acid producer Corynebacterium glutamicum is summarized. The core adaptations of C. glutamicum to nitrogen limitation on the level of transcription are controlled by the global regulator AmtR. Further components of the signal pathway are GlnK, a $P_{II}-type$ signal transduction protein, and GlnD. Mechanisms involved in nitrogen control in C. glutamicum regulating gene expression and protein activity are repression of transcription, protein-complex formation, protein modification by adenylylation, change of intracellular localization, and proteolysis.

Recently, the wide range of the composite materials is used for the making airplanes, trains and automobiles body for the lightweight. Despite having complex structures, composite materials usually have well defined mechanical characteristics. However, composite materials are difficult to understand the fracture mechanism clearly by simple mechanical test. Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) combined with mechanical testing can play a more important role and especially Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) would become known to be a useful tool to assess damage and fracture behavior of composites. In this study The experiment was performed to acquire the acoustic emission signal during tensile test using unidirectional CFRP specimen and the data was analyzed the acoustic emission parameters with the waveform.
