The purpose of this study is to investigate types and formative characteristics of 'Seon' represented of costume in Water-moon Avalokitesvara of the late Koryo Dynasty. The results were as follows; 'Seon' has two main types, Standard and Decoration types. In the former type, Seon has not any decoration. While, in the latter, Seon is added with decorations. Here, Seon of decoration type can be reclassified into two types, same color and pattern and different color and pattern. Seon most appeared in the Water-moon Avalokitesvara had the type of Decoration, especially different color and pattern. Patterns used for Seon were complex in its composition type and filling in its arrangement style. Seon was mainly used to Guneui(裙衣) and Samkaksika(僧脚崎). For the color combination of Seon, the combination of similar colors was most often used and that of same color was somewhat frequently done. Regarding costumes aesthetic characteristics in accordance with the type of Seon, those costumes appeared natural and elegant when their Seon was Standard in type, natural and brilliant when same color and pattern in type and artificial and brilliant when different color and pattern.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of color preference of young women living in Seoul, to provide materials which is useful for setting up the color plan for a better costume, and to suggest new information in the apparel study. This study was done on the basis of color preference only by regional characteristics and the range of this study restricted on young women' clothes. The subjects were 1,100 in 1998, 1,393 young women in 2004. They were photographed in the street. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage and $\chi^2-test$. The results of this study was as follows; The preference of chromatic color and achromatic color, hue and tone, pattern of textiles are different mainly by regional characteristics. 1) In 1998, young women prefered achromatic colors to chromatic colors. and the most preferred achromatic color was black, especially women of YOUNGDUOPO area prefer black. But, in 2004, young women preferred chromatic colors to achromatic colors and the most preferred achromatic color was white in the all areas. 2) Analysis of hue shows that in 1998, blue is most preferred color in the all areas by young women. But, in 2004, the most preferred color was different depending on the areas 3) Analysis of tone shows that in 1998, vivid, pale, dark tones are commonly preferred by young women. However, APGUJUNG area have specially inclination, they prefer vivid, pale and light tone. In 2004 year, pale, vivid and bright tones are most preferred tones in the all areas. 4) Analysis of pattern of textiles shows that, pattern textiles were preferred by young women of APGUJUNGDONG area in 1998 and YOUNGDUOPO area in 2004. The most preferred. pattern for young women in all area was a stripe pattern.

In this paper, we propose an emotional evaluation model based on information fusion. This model can transform the physical features of a color pattern to the emotional features. Our proposed model consists of the fuzzy logic system and neural network model. The evaluation values produced by them were fused. The model shows comparable performances to the neural network and fuzzy logic system for the approximation of the nonlinear transforms. We believe the evaluated results of a color pattern can be used to the emotion-based color image retrievals.

This paper proposes a non-contact color inspection system for plasma display panel (PDP). The red, green, and blue test pattern images are acquired by using the area color CCD camera at the various distance from the PDP. The RGB values are obtained from the region of interest (ROI) which are extracted by applying the image processing to the test pattern image. Finally, the CIE xy and u'v' chromaticity coordinates of the test pattern images according to the distance are acquired from the RGB color coordinates.

본 논문에서는 회전 주사 패턴을 사용하여 영상 검색을 위한 효율적인 영상 기술 방법을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 근회전 주사 패턴을 영상 중심부에 위치시키고, 이를 이용하여 공간 칼라 정보를 기술하였다. 사용된 특징은 회전 대표 칼라와 회전 칼라 질감 그리고 회전 칼라 변화도이다. 제안 방식은 영상의 색상 정보와 그와 관련된 국부적 공간 분포를 효율적으로 기술할 수 있었다. 따라서 위 방식은 영상 검색에 있어 기존방식에 비하여 계산량, 메모리 사용량 등을 줄일 수 있었다.

Present author observed the variation in color and pattern and also those of geographical distribution of Graphosoma rubrolineatum WESTWOOD.And the variations were also studied in relation to the temperature and the humidity . The results are as follows . 1. The variations in color and pattern of G.rubrolineatum were gradually changed into black ones, and so they showed polymorphic. 2. Their colors and patterns were not variated in inland at all, while those variations in island increased according to the distance from the inland. 3. The red color of the patterns appeared the yellowish-red in inland, the blackish -red in island. 4. The variation in color and pattern of G.rubrolineatum occure in the region of the temperature below 22.8$^{\circ}C$ (mean temperaturrre of June, July and August)and the humidity above 72%(yearly average).

The objectives of this study were to investigate the relation between personality(activity, emotional stability, and dominance) and clothing design preferences, and to examine the differences of clothing design preferences according to demographic variables of men. Subjects for the study were 255 male white-collar workers ranging in ages from twenties to fifties, in Seoul and Kwangju City, Korea. The men with higher activity of personality preferred the double jacket with 4 buttons, the combination of light color jacket and dark trousers, glen check pattern jacket, herringbone pattern jacket, light beige color dress shirts. The higher the emotional stability, the higher the preferences on diverse patterns such as fine stripe, plaid, hound\`s-tooth check, and small check pattern. The men with higher dominance preferred dark blue color suit, glen check pattern suit, and necktie of red circle, and disliked the necktie of gray circle. The men in their 20\`s and 30\`s liked the single jacket with 3 buttons, the suit of fine stripe and the necktie of gray circle more among three income groups. The higher the men\`s age and income were, the more they liked the conservative style such as a single jacket with 2 buttons. The men who reside in Seoul liked the suit of gray circle, the jacket and trousers of same color, the patternless jacket, and the patternless suit more than the men in Kwangju. Therefore, the men in methropolitan area preferred conservative clothing image. Fine stripe pattern and patternless materials were preferred when men wore jacket and trousers of same color, while glen check pattern was preferred as the pattern of jacket when jacket and trousers of different color. Male white-collar worker liked single jacket more than double jacket, and preferred the dark blue color suit and necktie, patternless suit, fine stripe suit, and the pale blue dress shirts generally. The present findings provide that the personality of male has influence on the clothing design preferences, and it is possible to infer men\`s personality by their attire.

본 논문에서는 영상의 블록 분류 특성에 적응적인 대표 컬러 히스토그램 (representative color histogram)과 방향성 패턴 히스토그램 (directional pattern histogram)을 이용한 새로운 내용 기반 영상 검색 방법 (content-based image retrieval)을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 영상을 일정한 크기의 블록으로 나누고, 분할된 블록의 분류 특성에 따라 컬러와 패턴 특징 벡터를 추출한다. 먼저 분할된 블록을 채도 (saturation)에 따라 휘도 블록 또는 컬러 블록으로 분류한 후, 휘도 블록에 대해서는 블록 평균휘도 쌍의 히스토그램을 구하고, 컬러 블록에 대해서는 블록 평균 컬러 쌍 히스토그램을 구함으로써 블록 분류 특징에 따라 컬러 특징 벡터를 추출한다. 또한 블록 휘도 변화의 기울기 (gradient)를 계산하여 방향성 분류를 행한 후 히스토그램을 계산함으로써 블록 방향성 패턴 특징을 추출한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 영상 검색 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위해서 컴퓨터 모의실험을 행한 결과 제안한 방법이 기존의 방법들보다 정확도 (precision) 및 특징 벡터 차원 (feature vector dimension) 크기 등의 객관적인 측면에서 우수함을 확인하였다.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the perceptions of Korean female university students for clothing pattern tendency and structural element of clothing pattern image dimension and to find how individual personality type influence the preferred clothing pattern characteristics. For this study, a questionnaire was designed and sent to 600 female university students of Daejeon, Seoul and metropolitan area. The tool used in this study was MBTI(The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Form G Korean version and for the analysis of data SPSS 10.0 package were used. 10 representative patterns for this study were floral, dot, stripe, check, animal, abstract & artistic, geometric, vegetable & leaf, paisely, patchwork pattern. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, arithmetic mean, One-Way ANOVA, x²-test. The major findings were as follows: Clothing pattern image dimension perceived by Korean female university students for 10 representative patterns were basic form, deluxe, specialty, and cultural dimension. Among them, basic form and deluxe dimension were major dimensions. In basic form dimension, dot pattern score was high indicating female students perceive it as light, comfortable, clean, cool and simple pattern image. In deluxe dimension, floral pattern scored high and in specialty dimension, abstract and artistic pattern scored high among other pattern image. In cultural dimension, geometric pattern and check pattern scored high. Based on other detailed analysis results, It is concluded that the personality type greatly influence clothing pattern evaluation. For example, in case of color combination of patchwork pattern, there was a difference in color preference depend on a personality type such as sensing(S) or intuition(N). Therefore, sensing personality type preferred adjacent color combination than contrast color combination. Detailed marketing strategy is necessary in planning textile design of merchandise plan.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of perceiver's gender, interval and color of checked pattern on clothing image. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 16 color pictures, in which the perceiver's gender, interval(0.5cm, 1.5cm, 3.5cm, 5.5cm), and color(red, yellow, blue, purple) were manipulated. The 7-point scale was used for evaluation of clothing image. Data were obtained from 192 male college students and 192 female college students living in Seoul, Gwangju, Jinju, and Masan on December 2009. For data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test were used by using SPSS program. Results of this study were as follows.; Clothing image according to interval and color of checked pattern consisted of five dimensions of attractiveness, appeal, warmness, modesty, and freshness. Perceiver's gender showed an independent effect on appeal, modesty, and freshness. Interval showed an independent effect on appeal, warmness, modesty, and freshness. Also, interaction effects of Perceiver's gender and interval on appeal and freshness were found. Interaction effects of Perceiver's gender and color on appeal were found.
