The purpose of this study is to explore methods to prevent and improve the problem of overdependence on smartphones by analyzing the differences in satisfaction with college life satisfaction of freshmen. For this, data on freshmen of KCYPS were extracted and used. The data were analyzed using non-hierarchical cluster(K-means) analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé tests. The results of this study are as follows. First, it has been shown that freshmen who are overdependent on smartphones experience inconvenience in their daily life, withdrawal and anxiety, and resistance. Second, there is no significant difference in the level of satisfaction with college life according to gender(t=-.015, p<.05). Third, it is shown that the level of satisfaction with college life of overdependent freshmen on smartphone is significantly lower compared to that of average and moderate dependent freshmen. Based on the results, it was suggested that university-level efforts such as emotional support and learning strategy support are needed for freshmen who are overdependent on smartphones.

And based on the results, a plan to support new students of the College of engineering is suggested.
Purpose: This study was conducted to compare the level of depressive symptom, spiritual well-being and faith maturity between college freshmen and seniors and to investigate the affecting factors on their depressive symptom. Methods: The study was cross-sectional descriptive survey. A self-report questionnaire were used to collect data from 335 college students during June to July, 2010. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using the SPSS/WIN 14.0 program. Results: The mean score of depressive symptom was $17.55{\pm}11.24$ and prevalence of depression was 26.5% in college freshmen. And those in college seniors were $14.18{\pm}14.17$ and 17.4%. And those were significantly higher in college freshmen than in seniors. The depressive symptom was a significant negative correlation with spiritual well-being, existential spiritual well-being, religious spiritual well-being, and faith maturity. Factors significantly influencing on depression in college freshmen included existential spiritual well-being, subjective health status, age, and confidence of salvation ($R^2$=49.7%). And those in college seniors included existential spiritual well-being and life satisfaction ($R^2$=53.3%). Conclusion: The counseling program and spirituality development program for preventing depression considering these affecting factors for especially college freshmen are necessary.

Undergraduate freshmen are currently encountering numerous difficulties in adapting to college life due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, several studies have underlined the need to develop interventions focused on undergraduate students' resilience during this situation. We adopted the service design method in identifying the difficulties faced by undergraduate freshmen during this pandemic, and also developed interventions for raising their resilience. The service design method is a person-centered approach which adopts the user's viewpoint in developing solutions, thereby enabling their requirements to be satisfied. Surveys and in-depth interviews revealed that undergraduate freshmen were experiencing psycho-emotional problems which were derived from schoolwork and college life. This is particularly the case with students who are experiencing greater levels of academic difficulty, and were insufficiently equipped with resources such as stress-coping strategies and social support. Four undergraduate freshmen were recruited online to test the effectiveness of a resource promotion program aimed at enhancing their resilience. This program has proved to be helpful in relieving daily/academic stress and in building relationships among freshmen, regarding which the participants showed a high level of satisfaction. The results were discussed by focusing on psycho-emotional difficulties and resources of college freshmen, as well as the effectiveness of the resource promotion program. Further research is required in order to verify the efficiency of the program and to confirm conclusions.

The final 24 articles were selected from three databases, RISS, KISS, and NAL (National assembly library) using specific inclusion criteria. Twenty were correlation studies and four were experimental studies. In 2009, the first study on adjustment of college freshmen was published. Since then several more studies have been conducted to date. This means that people have recognized the importance of adjustment of college freshmen. Background: The prevalence of tuberculosis is closely related to socioeconomic status. Although the nation-wide prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis was constantly decreasing during past 30years, there were few studies about prevalence of specific social groups in Korea. We examined prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis among university freshmen, which might represent one of the specific social groups in Korea. Methods: The prevalence of radiologically active pulmonary tuberculosis among Seoul National University(SNU) freshmen was investigated from 1988 to 1997. And those results were compared with prevalence data of SNU freshmen from 1977 to 1987 and also with prevalence of age matched general population. Results: There was continuous decrement of prevalence of pulmonary tuBerculosis among university freshmen. In 1985 and 1990, there was significant prevalence difference between university freshmen and general population. But in 1995, the prevalence of both groups was not significantly different. Conclusion: The prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in university freshmen has decreased steadily. The prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in university freshmen was lower than that of age-matched general population during past 20years. However, this trend was not evident in 1995.

In order to suggest desirable management of college mathematics for freshmen in middle level engineering college, we analyse the change of mathematics recognition between 2011 year and 2015 year freshmen who took college scholastic ability test which are based on the national mathematics curriculum 7th and 7th revision, respectively. In A university, 2011 year and 2015 year engineering freshmen were taken basic mathematical ability test and given the survey for the recognition of mathematics and college mathematics. Research results are as follows: First of all, middle level engineering freshmen were poor at basic mathematical ability. The change of mathematics recognition appeared in the level of mathematics ability and the effort for college mathematics class. Moreover middle level engineering freshmen recognize college mathematics as a basic subject for engineering and hope teacher-directed learning in college mathematics class. For the success of college mathematics in engineering college, this study suggests basic mathematical ability test and the survey for the recognition of mathematics and college mathematics. We also suggest that college mathematics class must be focused on basic mathematical ability improvement and self-directed learning.
